The Year is 2083 and in the colossal Seattle metroplex magic exists alongside futuristic technologies transforming the world from what it once was. Elves, trolls, dwarves and orcs all live and work throughout Seattle, all trying to make enough nuyen to cover next months’ rent. A rare few are capable of wielding magic to cast spells and summon spirits, while the rest of metahumanity makes do with cybertechnology to interface with the wireless matrix around them and shatter the limits of unaugmented flesh. Megacorporations rule the world, dictating the lives of anyone who wants to live in “proper” society. For those that don’t abide by their rules there are the Redmond barrens, a sprawling lawless district where life is cheap if it lasts at all.
