"That looks so weird," Gwen commented as we both watched Chelsea's body do the updating pixels thing.
"Yeah it does," I nodded in agreement.
Then I turned towards her and looked her over as I asked, "So what do you think? Are you happy with what you saw in the mirror?"
"Oh my gosh yes this is perfect!" she excimed with a wide happy smile on her face. "Thank you so much Lisa, you've literally made my dreams come true!"
I smiled, "That's great Gwen, I'm happy that you're happy."
There were a few obvious differences in her appearance, but on the whole she hadn't actually changed that much. Her height was the same as before, although she was perhaps a bit more slender. It was hard to tell because she was still wearing the nightshirt, but her hips and behind were less curvy than they'd been before. Her boobs certainly weren't any smaller though.
Her eyes were still the same bright sparkling green, but their shape was slightly different now, which gave her an exotic look. Her eyebrows were narrower and had more of an arch to them, while her jet-bck hair remained long and straight. Her skin had become fairer, it was more like what stories would call 'abaster'. The most notable change was to her ears, which had grown longer and narrowed to a point. They didn't stick out to either side like on some fantasy elves, and they weren't freakishly long. It was enough to be noticeably different though.
"I'm more than happy," my best friend grinned. "This is the best thing ever. I'm an elf, I'm a girl, I'm a mage, and a maid."
I asked, "Does the mage thing actually work? Can you do magic now?"
She nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah! I can't do a lot though? Like the thing said, it's limited because our world doesn't have much magic. But when I was looking at myself in the bathroom mirror earlier I tried a simple spell and it worked!"
"Cool," I grinned. Chelsea's update was finished by then so I added, "You'll have to show me some of that stuff ter."
Then I turned my attention back to Chels and asked, "Well? Are you happy now?"
She sat up then shifted so she was on her knees in the middle of my bed. And sure enough there were a pair of furry feline ears standing up from the top of her head, while a long fluffy tail swished back and forth behind her. Both the ears and tail were a pale beige colour that was just a little darker than her straw-blonde hair, which meant the ears were especially noticeable.
"Oh wow!" Chels gasped as she reached up and gently touched her new ears then excimed, "Aaaa! This is amazing!"
Her tail twitched behind her and tried to stand upright, but it was kind of stuck hanging out the bottom of her nightshirt.
She scrambled off the bed, and once she was on her feet Gwen and I got a better idea of her new size. She insisted on being even smaller, so her height was down to a hundred and thirty centimetres now. That put her a full thirty centimetres shorter than me, and forty-five shorter than Gwen. Chelsea was truly a tiny catgirl, but she wasn't any less curvy.
In fact even though she was small enough for her nightshirt to be more like a nightgown, the garment was tight around her huge boobs, her hips, and her behind. It actually looked a bit uncomfortable at the back, with her tail held tight against her backside by the taut fabric. So she was a bit of a chonky kitten, and even more of a short-stack than she'd been before.
My friend and I watched as Chels dashed into my washroom so she could check the mirror, and from the cute little squeals of delight both Gwen and I could tell she was happy.
In fact when Chels returned a minute or two ter I was positive I could actually hear her purring. She was naked again, having removed her nightshirt while she was in front of the mirror, and she tossed the bundle of pink fabric on the bed as she moved past it. Then she continued over to my friend and I, and there was some very attractive bouncing and jiggling going on as she walked.
"Look!" Chelsea announced with a happy grin as she held her hands out in front of herself. "I got cws!"
"On my feet too!" she added as she wiggled her cute little toes.
Gwen smiled back at her, "Looks like you got some fangs going on as well. I can see them when you smile."
"Yeah! And a long textured tongue! I hope I get to put it to good use tonight!" she added suggestively, then went ahead and stuck her tongue out at us so we could both see it.
That made my friend and I blush, but Gwen was still smiling. I was happy for Chels too, but I still had concerns.
"I'm gd you're happy Chelsea," I told her, "But there's no way you can hide this from people at university. Folks might freak out when they see you like this."
With a sigh I added, "You're both visibly non-human now."
Gwen grimaced but the little catgirl just shrugged. Then she moved up close to press herself against my side. She started talking again, but I was temporarily distracted by how Chelsea was now a full head shorter than me.
"What's it matter if people freak out?" she replied. "I'm not hurting anyone, I just look different."
In a teasing tone she added, "If anyone does try and make a fuss about it in css I'll just tell them to take it up with my owner. That's you by the way, since I'm your pet kitty!"
"Right," I grimaced. Then I suggested, "I'd better do the inventory update thing again, since none of your clothes are going to fit anymore. Even that nightshirt looked uncomfortable."
Chels was obviously in a pyful mood as she made a face, "Or I could just stay naked. Kitties don't wear clothes, they're all au naturale."
I rolled my eyes as I started typing on the little ptop again, "You're not going to css naked Chelsea. Or anywhere else for that matter."
"I'll update your stuff too Gwen," I added a moment ter. "I don't know if your clothes need it, since you don't look like you've changed size? But it won't hurt to do it anyways."
I ran the update on Chelsea's stuff first, although the only thing we could see change was the nightshirt she'd left on my bed. Except I noticed some of that pixeltion on the little catgirl too, even though she was naked. Then as it finished I realized why.
She now had a pink colr around her neck, with a little paw shaped tag hanging from it. And I didn't have to look at it to guess what it said. I was pretty sure it'd have her name on it, then probably my phone number or something like that.
I tried to ignore it for now, as I ran Gwen's update next. Her clothes were still folded up in a neat pile in the corner and her purse was with them, but along with that stuff the borrowed nightshirt she was wearing became pixelted as well.
That surprised us both, but I figured it meant the computer considered it her nightshirt because she was wearing it. And that was fine, it's not like I didn't have plenty of clothes in my huge closet.
When it was over that simple grey cotton nightshirt had turned into a sort of flimsy bck silk negligee. It was thin enough to be almost translucent, but only hung down as far as the top of her thighs. And it opened in the front, but was held closed by a simple matching silk belt.
The other surprise was Gwen's colr. It had changed from a bck leather choker into a fine chain, with a little gemstone pendant at the front. I wasn't sure what to make of that, and I couldn't even guess what it was made of. The metal was bck with a dull lustre, and the gem was bck too but sparkled like a diamond.
As for Chelsea's nightshirt, it was still soft pink cotton but now there was a white kitty paw print pattern over the whole thing. And its size had changed to fit her new body. Plus there was an opening at the back so her tail wouldn't be trapped underneath the material.
"Now that that's taken care of I think the next thing on our list was to deal with the college computers?" I asked.
Chelsea and Gwyneth both agreed. They moved to stand on either side of me like before, so they could watch me work. The two of them seemed surprised though when I ignored the little ptop and reached to turn on one of the mundane desktop computers instead.
I smiled at their confusion as I expined, "I don't need a reality bending computer for this. It's just normal hacking, and I've done it before."
"Ah right," Gwen nodded.
As I got started I told them, "I'll get our stuff out of the way first since it'll be easier. That's just updating our names and stuff. The university database will take longer since we need to move some of Chelsea's courses around."
Both of them nodded as they continued watching, and they seemed surprised that it only took me a couple minutes to access the community college's database. I didn't eborate, but it was retively easy now since I'd found a vulnerability at the start of the school year. That first time was a lot more work, but once I was in I'd left myself a backdoor. And so far their IT people hadn't even noticed it.
I already knew my way around too, so it didn't take long to pull up the first year student data. Except when I tried to find my old record it wasn't there. That left me momentarily worried, I wondered if somehow becoming a SysAdmin deleted my old existence. I didn't panic though, I just continued paging through the entire list to see if maybe I'd missed it. And sure enough the answer was there, but it took until the second-st page to find it.
"Oh right," I grimaced. "I forgot about that. Updating our inventory has a pretty broad definition? Basically it includes intangible things like accounts and records."
Gwen frowned, "What do you mean? I don't see your name on there, either as Lisa or your deadname."
I pointed, "It's there. Summernd, Annalise? Apparently that's my new legal name. Lisa's just a nickname I guess."
"Annalise?" my friend repeated as her eyebrows crept up. "And you changed your st name to Summernd?"
"I didn't pick either of those names," I insisted. "That's just what came up when I accidentally turned myself into Lisa."
Then I tried to distract them both as I scrolled down a bit more on the screen until I spotted Gwen's new name. I pointed it out as I said, "And there you are. The Grey, Gwyneth."
"Wait what?" she gasped. "It changed my st name to 'The Grey'?!"
I nodded, "Isn't that what you said? You're Gwyneth the Grey, right? Have you checked your ID? I'll bet everything's already been updated to match that."
She cringed but went over to where her purse was sitting with her clothes as she commented, "I didn't realize it would do that."
"Neither did I," I replied. "I'm not even sure I like the name Lisa, and Annalise is way out there. It still beats my guy name though."
A moment ter Gwen sighed, "You're right. It's on everything. Health card, drivers license, student card... Gwyneth The Grey. People are going to think I'm weird, having 'the' in there. I should have just gone with Gwyneth Grey."
Chelsea shrugged, "We're not used to it with English names, but you don't think twice when you see that sort of thing in a 'foreign' name. MacArthur just means 'son of Arthur', O'Reilly is 'son of Reilly'. Van Gogh means 'from Gogh', Van den Berg means 'from the mountain'."
That left both Gwyneth and I staring at Chels in surprise. Although I shouldn't have been, I already knew she was pretty smart.
Then I looked to my friend again and asked, "Gwen were you still thinking about coming out to your parents by text? Maybe you should do that tonight?"
"I'm going to try and get into Chelsea's university records now," I added. "Considering our records were already updated hers might be too, but I think we should check anyways just to be sure."
Gwen grimaced, "Yeah. I guess I'll send my folks a text."
"Then I'm going to turn my phone off after that," she added as she moved to sit down on the bed while she composed her message. "I don't want to have to deal with them tonight, and I'm sure they'll be looking for an argument as soon as they get my text."
While she did that I exited the college server then started trying to break into the systems at Chelsea's university. That wasn't as easy since I didn't have a convenient backdoor to access, but it didn't take too long to find an unpatched exploit. And from there it was only a few more minutes before I found her records.
"Ok," I commented as she and I stared at the screen. "Looks like you're not registered for any sports or athletics csses after all. Do you see anything new on here? Or anything out of pce?"
Her ears folded back and her tail slowly swayed back and forth behind her ankles as she studied the screen for a few seconds. Then she pointed at one of the course names, "That's new. It looks like the ptop subbed that in for the athletics program."
The css was called 'Life Sciences - 3rd year' and apparently Chels had an eighty-four percent average in it, although I wasn't sure where that number would have come from.
I asked, "Do you even know what that css it? And considering you've never actually attended it before, will you have any hope of passing the exam?"
Chelsea grinned while her ears stood up and her tail flicked back and forth a few times. "Of course I know it. It's the easiest css in the whole curriculum. Mandatory for the first year, but after that you only take it if you've got nothing better to do and want to pick up an easy credit."
"I know the name makes it sound impressive," she added, "But seriously when they say 'life sciences' they mean like, how to survive on your own, without parental assistance. Like how to budget, how to get groceries, how to cook for yourself, that kind of thing. There isn't even an exam, or tests. You just get graded for attendance and that's it."
I was surprised, but also a little relieved to hear that. "Ok then," I nodded. "So is all this good? We don't have to make any changes to your curriculum?"
Chels nodded, "Yeah it looks fine."
"Good," I stated as I exited out of the university's server.
I turned off my hacking computer just as Gwen finished composing her coming-out message to her folks. She sent that off, then shut down her phone like she said earlier.
"So I guess that's everything on the list for today?" my best friend asked. "What do you two want to do this evening?"
She made a face as she admitted, "I need something to distract me from thinking about my parents and that message I just sent them."
Chelsea and I looked to each other, then I looked back at my best friend again and smiled.
"I don't think I've said this tely Gwen, but you're very pretty."
