"So that's one big problem solved," Gwen commented quietly between forkfuls of veggie fried rice. "That just leaves my parents, and our college. And Chelsea's university."
After another bite of her dinner she added, "My folks are going to want me home in less than twenty-four hours, so I need to know what I'm going to tell them, or how I'm going to handle that."
Chelsea was munching on an egg roll, but she nodded in agreement. "We have to make sure Gwyneth is safe. And we need to figure out our education stuff, between now and Monday morning."
After taking care of Edward we went ahead and ordered Chinese for dinner. And after spending most of the day naked, both Chels and Gwen had finally put some clothes on. Not a lot though. The tall ravenette borrowed that same nightshirt from my closet again, while the small blonde was in a cute pink nightie. Unfortunately it didn't fit very well, which reminded me I still needed to fix Chelsea's inventory since she messed with her character sheet after breakfast this morning.
For now though the three of us were sitting on my bed again while we ate. Except I was starting to think I needed to get a sofa or something for my room, so there were some alternative seating arrangements. And not just because my best friend was on edge due to her maid senses constantly going off at the thought of one of us spilling sticky sauce or greasy food or bottles of soda on my duvet while we ate.
The sofa and Chelsea's clothing situation could wait until ter though. For now I was enjoying a forkful of sweet and sour pork, but once I was done I finally responded.
"Fixing things with the college computers should be pretty easy," I commented. "I can do that after we've finished eating. For me and Gwen it's mostly just a matter of updating our records with the correct names and stuff. I'll probably need some input from you though Chels, since you wanted to move some of your csses around to get rid of the sports stuff."
"I don't know what to do about the people though?" I sighed. "We'll probably just have to deal with a lot of difficult questions. Except I don't think it's a good idea to mention the ptop or how it can change reality. Maybe we should lie a little?"
Gwen smiled, "Wished on a shooting star?"
"Got three wishes from a genie?" Chelsea grinned.
I nodded, "Something like that."
"It's not like they can cim we shouldn't be there or we're not who we say we are," I added. "Between the computers being updated and our student cards and all the rest of our ID having our new pictures and everything, we've got all the proof we need. The only folks who'll be confused are the ones who already know us, or what we used to look like."
Gwen grimaced, "That's still a lot. Friends, cssmates, and teachers."
"I know," I sighed. "Nothing we can do about it though. At least we've only got a couple weeks left, then we can put it all behind us for a few months."
We were all quiet for the next minute or two as we focused on our meal again. Then after a gulp of her drink my best friend broke the silence once more, "So that's our school stuff taken care of, potentially. I still don't know what to do about my parents though."
"I don't want to use the ptop to mess with them," I responded. "I know you didn't say it, but incase you're thinking about it I just wanted to make that clear."
I continued, "I know living with them hasn't been great, but you said they haven't actually been abusive or anything, right?"
Gwen shrugged, "Nothing excessive. But it's like torture having to listen to them talk about how horrible and evil people like me and you are. And how we need to be 'fixed' or 'set straight' so we can fit in with 'normal society' and all that crap."
"Sorry you've had to deal with that," I sighed. "But they don't know they're hurting you with that stuff, right? They don't know you're trans. I'm not trying to minimize it. I'm just saying it doesn't sound like they're purposefully trying to scare you with that kind of talk."
She seemed unconvinced, "They don't know I'm trans, but they might be trying to scare me anyways? Like making sure I know their feelings on the subject?"
"Oh right," I frowned. Then I sighed again, "Ok it's not the best idea, but what if you tried to come out to them? Like send them a text or email or something? To see how they react."
Before she could protest I added, "Either way you've got a pce to stay here. There's the guest room upstairs, and Ed's room is up for grabs too. All we have to do is move all your stuff here, but we can probably rent a van or maybe even hire movers to take care of that."
"I don't know Lisa," Gwen grimaced as she thought it over. It took her another half minute or so before she finally relented, "Yeah ok. I guess they have to find out eventually, and considering they wouldn't recognize me now it's easier to do it by text than in person."
Chels commented, "I don't know about them not recognizing you. I recognized Lisa when I first saw her like that. Even though she looks very different now there's still a sort of family resembnce."
I nodded, "Chels is right. I see it in you, and her. Like yes we look very different, but there's still a resembnce. Especially if you're looking for it. Not that it changes anything, I'd still suggest going with text or email with your folks."
My friend nodded in agreement. Then she added, "I doubt I have enough stuff that we need to rent a van. I don't need any of my guy clothes, and there's already beds in the rooms upstairs. So that just leaves my computer and speakers and some books and things? We could probably move that in the back of Chelsea's car."
"Uh, what guy clothes?" I asked. "When I updated your inventory that would have changed everything, not just the stuff you had with you here."
Gwen's eyes widened, "Oh crap. So if my folks looked in my room what would they see?"
I shrugged, "Gwyneth stuff? Everything would have adjusted to suit your new character."
"That would include maid stuff too," Chelsea added with a little smile.
My friend cringed, "I sure hope they haven't looked in my room."
"Oh that reminds me," I looked to Gwen with a smile. "I figured out how to access all the locked items in the character editor? So if you really wanted to be your elven mage character, we can make that happen. Except you probably wouldn't be able to do any magic, since apparently our world doesn't have any? But maybe your inventory would end up with mage stuff instead of maid stuff."
This time Gwen's eyes widened in excitement. She grinned, "Oh yes please! Except I'd like to dual-css mage and maid if I can? But either way I definitely want to do the elf thing. If you can make me Gwyneth the Grey for real that'd be amazing!"
I was still smiling as I nodded, "Alright, we'll add it to the list for after we've finished eating."
Of course once I said that Gwen was almost too excited to care about dinner. Even Chelsea seemed interested, although I was positive she didn't want to become an elf. Or any other kind of fantasy species either, for that matter.
So it wasn't long before we all decided we'd had enough to eat. And apparently Gwen was finished being a maid for the day, so she didn't insist on immediately taking care of the leftovers and doing the dishes. I did though, I didn't want to leave that stuff on my bed. So all three of us pitched in, which meant it only took a couple minutes to get everything tidied up.
Once we were all back downstairs in my bedroom I took my seat at the desk while my companions stood to either side of me. Then at Gwen's insistence I opened up her character sheet first and left the college stuff for ter.
"So how do I unlock all the other options?" she asked as she reached for the ptop.
I shook my head, "You don't. Sorry Gwen, but like I said earlier it's way too dangerous to let anyone else do this. You can watch while I do it for you, and I won't do anything you don't want. But I can't risk letting anyone else mess with it anymore."
"Aww!" Chelsea pouted.
My best friend looked disappointed, but she didn't make a fuss. "Ok Lisa. So how do we do it?"
There was a key combination to unlock all the options, and after doing that I navigated to the species field. Then as I started scrolling through the endless choices Chelsea saw something that caught her eye.
"No way!" she excimed. "There's a catgirl option? Like with furry ears and a fluffy tail?"
I shrugged, "Probably? I didn't think you were into that kind of thing though."
"There it is," I added a moment ter when I found the elf option. I selected it, then let Gwen look at all the sub-species options that came up next.
While she was studying the screen Chels gave me a hopeful smile, "Do you like cats Lisa? Because I think they're really cute. And you know I'm all about the cute, right? Imagine how cute I'd be as a catgirl?"
"Oh!" she gasped as if an idea just occurred to her. "If I was a tiny cute catgirl I could curl up on your p!"
"I'm not making you a catgirl," I sighed. "Seriously Chels, don't you think you've changed enough already?"
She pouted at me, "No. I didn't know being a catgirl was an option before. C'mon Lisa, think about how cute that'd be, and how much fun we could have! What if I was your cute little catgirl pet? Curled up asleep on your p, purring while you scritched my ears or stroked my fluffy tail..."
Then her expression shifted to a naughty smile, "And think about what I could do with my long textured tongue! How good do you think that'd feel, when I -"
"Seriously?!" I gave her an exasperated look. Then while she pouted some more I turned towards my friend and asked, "So do you see the one you want?"
Gwen nodded as she pointed to one of the options, "That sounds right. Can we check it out?"
I selected it, and another detail screen opened up. Then Gwen and I spent a few minutes going through all the various options, tweaking things here and there until she was happy.
Next I moved to the css field as I asked, "Are you sure you want to keep the maid css?"
"Yes please," she replied quietly. Her cheeks coloured as she admitted, "It's been more fun than I expected."
"Right," I nodded slowly, before focusing on the computer again.
I added a third css to the existing two, so Gwen would be a level twenty mage, a level twenty maid, and a level twelve student. After we were finished with that I had one more question for her.
"Do you want to keep the hypnosis stuff we added this morning?" I asked. "Or should I get rid of that now?"
Her cheeks got another shade brighter but she nodded, "Definitely keep it."
"Alright then," I responded.
Before saving her character we called up a rendering, and Gwen's eyes lit up while a wide smile settled on her face. At the same time I frowned as a new concern crossed my mind.
"People are going to notice the ears," I sighed. "It's going to be hard enough expining your sudden transition, but if we do this you're going to have to deal with people questioning your humanity too."
She shook her head, "It won't be so bad. I can hide the ears with a hat or a different hair style or something. Or just tell people they're fake, that I'm in cospy for some reason. The other changes are subtle enough that nobody's going to notice."
"Are you sure?" I asked. "You're positive you want to do this?"
Gwen nodded, "A hundred percent."
"Alright," I relented. Then I suggested, "You might want to sit down before I save it, incase it makes you dizzy or something."
She hurried over to my bed and got comfortable, then I saved the changes. Sure enough when the LED came on her body went all pixelted again like before, as the ptop did its thing.
"Is it my turn now?" Chelsea asked with a hopeful look on her face. "It's only fair, right? If Gwen gets to be an elf then I get to be a catgirl?"
I groaned as I slumped back in my chair, "Seriously Chels? Do you really want that? What are you going to tell people at css on Monday?"
She insisted, "Yes I want it Lisa, or I wouldn't be asking. And I'll tell them a genie did it. I'll say I got three wishes and poof, he made me a cute kitty girl."
"Fine," I finally sighed. "If that's what you really want. I can't exactly deny you when I just gave my best friend what she wanted."
"Yes! Thanks Lisa!" Chelsea excimed. Then for good measure she gave me a quick hug and a kiss, before her attention turned to the ptop again.
Gwen was already finished by then, but rather than rejoining us by the desk she headed straight into the washroom to check herself out in the mirror. Meanwhile I straightened up in my chair then we went back into the character editor and opened up the cute blonde's details.
I still wouldn't let Chels use it herself, so she watched closely and told me what she wanted while I made the actual edits. And there were at least three more times when I had to stop and ask if she was sure before I actually made the adjustments she wanted.
Gwen joined us at some point, and she had a big happy smile on her face. I really wanted to focus on her, to see how she looked and find out how she felt about not being human anymore, but I knew if I turned my back Chelsea would probably grab the ptop.
So I kept working with Chels for now, and soon enough we finished all the physical changes she wanted. Then she asked to update that Notes field again, but that made me hesitate. On the one hand I had some reservations about the sorts of changes she kept wanting to make to her personality, but on the other hand I'd done that and more to my own personality earlier in the day. So it'd be a little hypocritical to refuse to make those changes when Chelsea asked.
Instead I expined how the entries in that field would fade, and said if she really wanted that stuff to st we needed to put it in a different spot. Then after another round of 'are you sure' I went ahead and did what she asked.
When all the tweaks and changes she wanted were complete I had the ptop show us the preview rendering. And as soon as the new image came up on the screen Chels excimed, "Oh gosh that's perfect!"
"You're sure?" I asked yet again. "Because this will be your third change in barely twenty-four hours, so after this we're not doing it again any time soon."
She nodded eagerly, "I'm sure. And I know it seems like a lot, but I didn't even know this was a possibility before. Otherwise I'd have done it myself this morning!"
"Alright then," I told her. "Go sit down on the bed please."
She didn't waste any time, she dashed over to the bed and hopped up ontop of it then y down across the middle of the duvet. Once she was ready I hit the control, then both Gwen and I watched as Chelsea's body went all pixelted.
