Dr. Maki Engazi is a somewhat disheveled ‘portist - a magican who specialises in teleporting objects or people on commission. One such commission, for a shadier element of the city of Balé, leads him into breaking into the office of his friend, and eccentric genius, Professor Chioté Hounsol. It’s there that he discovers she has been murdered.
