Aleksi Andrysiak was a devoted, though at times discouraged, Ukrainian born American citizen and world history teacher. Following a cataclysmic and disastrous field trip Aleksi and the class that he was supposed to be chaperoning were transported violently to another world, many of them being forced to have their bodies reconstituted following selections that were supposedly "Matched to their souls."
