Chapter 27 Peerage

The first thing Shin noticed was the weight pressing down on his body. The second? A tight, enveloping warmth, that seemed to cling to him, pulling him deeper. As he peeled his eyes open, he saw the cause—Momo, his girlfriend, lying completely unclothed on top of him. Her soft skin pressed against his, her breath slow and steady as she remained lost in sleep. A satisfied smile crept onto his face as he recalled every detail of what had transpired.

During their intimate moment, Momo was surprisingly shy and submissive, no matter how bold she tried to appear. Shin found himself guiding her through every step, her body responding to his lead as she became lost in the waves of pleasure. In the beginning, when he had taken her first time, there had been a mix of discomfort and hesitation. She tried to mask the pain, but soon the tears came, and he soothed her with gentle kisses and tender touches—moments he would never forget.

As her pain faded, they both fully embraced the intimacy, exploring each other in all possible ways. She was unafraid to follow his lead, even as he introduced her to new sensations and experiences, she never imagined. He therefore guided her gently, taking care to ensure she was at ease, and it soon became clear that she was enjoying herself, evident from her loud moans and shrieks. Her reactions were so loud that Shin couldn’t help but wonder if others might have overheard, perhaps speculating about what was happening.

Through their connection, Shin also discovered that Momo was always quick to reach her climax and displayed vivid reactions, something he quite enjoyed if he were to be honest. They continued like this for nearly two hours until Momo, overwhelmed by exhaustion and pleasure, finally lost consciousness. Only then did Shin allow himself to drift into sleep.

Shin exhaled heavily, blinking as the memory faded and the present slowly came into focus. Without thinking, he ran his hands over her curves, feeling her warmth and softness beneath his touch.

As he did this, he felt both happiness and sadness. Happy because they had finally consummated their relationship, and it was clear she loved him deeply. Sad because, in the depths of his heart, he knew he couldn’t stay with her forever. The thought of being separated from her caused a sharp ache in his chest. While lost in these thoughts, his eyes drifted to Momo’s face and her tender lips. He leaned forward, wanting to kiss her and soothe the ache in his heart.

Suddenly, a notification from the SYSTEM appeared in front of him, making him pause in his track.

[You have completed the following conditions :

  • Encountered 10 individuals with determined compatibility.

  •
  • Desired deep in your heart to bring one of them with you along your journey.

  •
  • Crossed a certain threshold in your relationship with a compatible individual.]

  •

[Congratulations! You have unlocked the Peerage Tab in the main menu.]

Shin blinked to check if he was seeing things. When he realized he wasn’t, his eyes widened at the system notification. Somehow, he had unlocked something new by meeting certain preset conditions. However, he neither understood what these conditions were nor what exactly the "Peerage" tab entailed. To understand the changes, he opened the system's main menu—and there it was, a brand-new option.

  [STATUS SCREEN]

  [SYSTEM EXCLUSIVE ABILITIES]

  [WORLD]

  [TRUESOUL]

  [PEERAGE]

Shin mentally willed the option to open, and in an instant, information and knowledge poured into his mind like a flowing stream. The system clearly explained the purpose of this feature, and to say he was surprised would be an understatement. Overjoyed and filled with anticipation, he absorbed the details with growing excitement.

According to the explanation, traveling between planes i.e. both, the exit from the old plane as well as the entry into the new one, came at a cost—specifically, the destabilization of the TrueSoul. The exit from his original plane was an exception because the process was facilatated by a fourth dimensional being’s energy.

To prevent a being from imploding due to subsequent instabilities, their TrueSoul must establish a permanent connection with individuals from either the entry or exit plane. This was the essence of the Peerage—those with whom such enduring bonds would be formed.

However, a TrueSoul could only connect with another TrueSoul. Therefore, the selected individual’s TrueSoul had to be created using his own. Once formed, the two TrueSouls would become inseparably bonded—a connection impervious to disruption by any lower-dimensional being. This process was a vital step for anyone aspiring to ascend into higher dimensions, typically requiring meticulous planning and execution. Fortunately, with the system’s assistance, much of it was automated, greatly simplifying the procedure.

Yet, Shin perceived this information through a completely different lens—one that thrilled him beyond measure. This process would allow him to bring certain individuals along on his journey, a possibility he had longed for, especially in the case of one particular person.

Naturally, there were limitations. He could form bonds with a maximum of three individuals per plane, with at least one bond required. The minimum of one was necessary to prevent a triad of successive destabilizations—which is the direct cause of implosion, while the maximum of three stemmed from the TrueSoul’s capacity to manage only one reserve connection at a time: one for entry, one for exit, and one as a safeguard against a single future instability. There were many other calculations but thankfully the system would make it easier for him to keep tracks of how many slots he had and needed to fill at a particular time.

Nevertheless, since his TrueSoul would be the foundation for creating another, he would be considered the head of the Peerage, while the others would be his companions.

Now as the Peerage head, he had one unique ability: access to a medium-sized, empty, cuboid white room, which, from what he understood, was located inside the cube itself—the system. Once inside, he could summon his companions, one at a time, regardless of their physical location, and interact with them for as long as he wished. Once he or a companion exited, though, he wouldn’t be able to summon them again for a certain period.

There was one additional drawback. None of their abilities would function inside this space—except, perhaps, uploaded skills. This meant that he couldn’t use it as a training ground for himself or his companions. Still, the room was incredibly useful, ensuring he wouldn’t be completely separated from them, no matter how far apart they were.

Despite this distinction of a head and a companion, all members of the Peerage shared one absolute rule—none could harbor even the slightest intent to harm another, whether directly or indirectly. This rule was not merely enforced; it was a fundamental aspect of the bond itself. It was simply impossible to feel true hostility toward a fellow Peerage member—the very connection between their TrueSouls ensured it.

Notice that it says harm and not hurt. That distinction is very important. This means that hurting the members is acceptable, but harming them is not. In simpler terms, causing short-term pain or injury in a helpful or competitive context is not an issue. However, members cannot have the intent to inflict lasting consequences or trauma with malicious intent. Essentially, it functions as an anti-betrayal arrangement that still allows for arguments and fights.

Now, not just anyone can be a companion. They must be compatible with him for the process to occur. The system determines compatibility, but not instantly upon meeting someone. Instead, it takes a certain amount of direct or indirect interaction for the system to assess compatibility. The time required for this assessment depends on the level of compatibility—the higher the compatibility, the faster the system identifies them and adds their name to the Potential Companions tab under the Peerage section. The lower the compatibility, the longer it takes.

It is crucial to note that the system explicitly states that at most 0.01% of individuals will be compatible with him, making the process of finding a suitable companion somewhat difficult.

He didn’t know exactly what this compatibility was or how the system identified it. Although he was deeply curious, he refrained from letting his mind wander, suspecting that this information was based on how higher-dimensional entities perceived things. He wasn’t foolish enough to believe his mind could handle such knowledge.

Finally, from the flood of information filling his mind, he realized that he already had around twelve compatible individuals listed. With great excitement and a hint of nervousness, he turned his gaze toward the open screen in front of him. After navigating to the Peerage tab in the main menu, a single option appeared. He willed it to open, and in an instant, a list popped up before him.

  Lara Sydney

  Ayume Minnah

  Tenshin

  Momo Yaoyorozu

  Nezu

  Nemuri Kayama

  Seraphina Morningstar

  …

  …

Shin was extraordinarily overjoyed when he saw Momo’s name on the list. This meant that he could possibly bring her along on his long journey to the higher dimension. But it still depended on her—she needed to agree to become his companion.

Yeah, for the process of making her his companion to actually start, her consent was very important. And not just blind consent, but a fully informed one. For this reason, the system would immediately send all the necessary information into her mind the moment he asked Momo to become his companion. This would probably include knowledge about TrueSoul, the planes, the pros and cons of the decision, and more—though he didn’t know the exact content. Thankfully, the system would keep her mind stable enough to accept the information instead of outright dismissing it as absurd.

If she agreed after knowing all this, the process would begin. If not, the system would erase all this information from her mind and remove her from the list of potential companions, making it impossible for him to ever make her his companion.

Shin really, really hoped Momo would accept and not reject the offer, as that would sadden him greatly. Still, he would respect whatever her decision was, knowing that this wasn’t something everyone could handle or would even want to.

Taking his mind off that, he started going through the other options. The list contained individuals with whom he had all sorts of relationships. Some were acquaintances, some were friends, and some were even enemies. There was even a girl he used to hook up with during high school—they were more than friends, but never quite a couple. This made Shin understand that the type of relationship he had with someone didn’t matter when it came to compatibility as a potential companion.

However, what instantly repulsed him was the fact that there were men on the list. It wasn’t that he hated men, but he simply had no desire to have such a deep connection with them. With women, it was different—he wouldn’t mind, even if he didn’t have a particularly positive relationship with them. That was just his preference. And the system clearly sensed that, because the list immediately shortened, now containing only female individuals.

Some names genuinely surprised him—like Nemuri Kayama, which was the real name of Midnight, and Lara Sydney, the scientist he had been assigned to in SUBLIME. To think that they were actually compatible with him as companions. Shin mentally noted them, knowing that he could have at least two more companion from this plane if Momo accepted.

Then there was Ayume Minnah—who was already dead. He didn’t think there was any real chance of her returning, but with all sorts of quirks existing in this plane, he knew that anything was possible.

Finally, there was one name he didn’t know anything about. When he focused on it, trying to recollect if he had ever heard of it, suddenly, small bits of information started pouring into his mind, and he came to know who she was. And to say that Shin was surprised would be an understatement. Not because of the sudden burst of knowledge—he had expected something like that—but instead because of the content itself.

His eyes widened, and he was completely flabbergasted. He had actually interacted with her—not directly, but indirectly. And he had done so twice. The first time was when he used Revelation on All For One, and the second was when he did the same with Izuku Midoriya. Now, one might be wondering how these two were related to the woman in question. It wasn’t them, but rather their quirks that were connected to her.

When he had initially used Revelation on them, he had discovered that there was a soul inside each of their quirks. At the time, he had assumed that their quirks had simply gained sentience in a manner similar to how non-living things like weapons, pills, and even worlds had gained sentience in his original plane.

Considering how powerful these quirks were, he had thought it was only natural for them to evolve consciousness. With his current knowledge, he would even equate these quirks to being at the peak of Rank 2. And he meant the quirks themselves, not the wielders—at least, not in the case of Midoriya. All For One, however, he guessed was at that rank.

Now, one might wonder how he was able to fight and defeat All For One despite his overwhelming power. The answer was simple—by the time Shin encountered him at the facility, All For One had already been critically injured and severely weakened from who knows what. Otherwise, there was no way they would have even been able to put up a fight, let alone win.

Now, about All Might, the previous wielder of One For All—how had he been able to fight All For One on equal footing? The reason was that by the time Shin had met him, All Might didn’t have the quirk anymore. What remained within him was merely a residual of its power after he had passed it down to Midoriya. And yet, even then, he had struggled against just a remnant of its former power, which perfectly illustrated how terrifyingly strong the original quirk was. The only reason Midoriya wasn’t able to fully utilize it was because he hadn’t had enough time with it. Given time, he would definitely reach its full potential. Though, with the speed at which he was progressing, it might take a decade or two.

But with the information that currently filled his mind, Shin realized that his previous theory had been completely wrong. The quirks hadn’t just naturally gained sentience. Someone had actually cut this woman’s soul into two and merged the pieces into these quirks. And for what reason, he had no idea. But one thing was clear—this was part of a much larger scheme.

This realization made him extremely curious about this woman, but at the same time, it also made him apprehensive. What kind of plan involved the two most powerful quirks in existence? And more importantly, who had the ability to attack the soul in such a way? Right now, he had not much defenses against something like that, which was quite frankly concerning.

Still, in the end, his curiosity won out—just like it always did. He began thinking about ways to actually communicate with her, even though, with her soul split like this, she was probably not even conscious of the outside world at all. And thus Shin’s mind became completely occupied with these thoughts but before he could go deep into these thoughts he felt Momo stirring from her sleep.

She let out a small breath, her fingers twitching against his skin. Her body shifted slightly, pressing closer for a moment before she moaned a sigh. Still half-asleep, she rubbed her cheek against his chest. Then, her breathing changed. Her eyelashes moved and her legs shifted. A quiet sound left her lips as she sat straight up on his lap, fully displaying those brilliant breasts of hers as she stretched her arms—then she froze.

Her sleepy expression changed as her eyes widened, realizing everything at once. She looked down at herself, seeing her bare skin exposed, and her face turned bright red. Then, she became aware of the deep, lingering connection between them. The way their bodies were still joined, the warmth surrounding her, and the unfamiliar feeling of fullness in her abdomen. Her breath hitched and her body stiffened while her mind raced.

Instinctively, she moved, covering herself with her arm, trying to hide her bare body. But then, she looked into Shin’s eyes, filled with warmth. Slowly, the memories returned—from the very beginning to the very end. Her heart raced, a mix of joy and embarrassment filling her. She recalled how uninhibited she had been, how she had completely surrendered to the moment, letting go of all hesitation. The way she had moved, the sounds she had made, the things she had eagerly done without a second thought—every moment replaying in her mind.

But then, Momo felt Shin hold her hands. The shame suddenly faded away, with joy and fulfillment being the only emotions that remained. With confidence, she lowered her arm, no longer feeling the need to hide. Her lips curved into a proud smile and she spoke, “Good morning, Shin… Last night was amazing for me. Now, what about you? Tell me, how was I? Did you like doing it with me? Because I definitely did.”

“Of course, I loved every moment of it. Why wouldn’t I, when I was with such a beautiful and passionate woman like you?” Shin smiled warmly before teasing, “By the way, where did all that boldness go when we actually started doing it?”

Momo’s face flushed with shyness as she avoided direct eye contact. “Um… that’s because I didn’t have any experience in those matters. In fact, everything we did was completely new to me.”

“Ah… That much was obvious the moment I took your virginity.” Shin chuckled before his expression softened. “But you don’t need to be ashamed of that. Knowing that I’m the first person to enter both your heart and body makes me incredibly happy and proud.” Shin sat up and pulled Momo into a warm embrace. “Thank you, Momo. Thank you for accepting me as your partner, even with all my faults.”

“Idiot.” Momo giggled, wrapping her arms around him. “I love you so much that I can’t help but accept you for who you are.” Her smile faltered slightly as she admitted, “Though… I do feel a little sad that I’m not your first, like you are mine. It was obvious from last night that you have a lot of experience—there’s no way you could have led me so well otherwise.” She sighed. “And I won’t lie… the thought of having to share you with other women in the future frustrates me. But as long as I can experience this love you’re showing me right now, even just from time to time, then that’s enough for me.”
