Chapter 35: How Come Everybody Knows Me?

Chapter 35: How Come Everybody Knows Me?

When Ken reached the pirate haven once again and came across the two guards, they both asked no question, only smiling upon seeing him and opening the way forward.

Kenw was slightly weirded out, but after thinking for a bit, he decided to not meddle any longer. The guards had something to do with Linda and even went as far as asking her to test him, so they knew him enough to do what they did.

But upon reaching the vilge, Ken was getting annoyed by all of the stares he was receiving from everyone he came across.

some of them he had never ever seen.

"Isn't that?" a group of men asked each other.

"Yeah, it's the young man who was able to beat that group." another replied.

"Eh, I heard he went to some dangerous isnd. To think he came out alive. Not bad. He has potential." Another said.

It had to be known that what was happening wasn't really surprising. Ken didn't know, as he wasn't familiar with this isnd as of now, but they were the type to like anything new.

They were holed up in this cave, and most of them couldn't even leave because of how weak they were, thus someone young and with potential to become world-renowned and also coming from the outside just recently...

He was quite the buzz. It was the same phenomenon as an outsider coming to a vilge.

They would be known to everyone the second day.

How was this important? Well, Ken at the moment was like a pyer in a starter vilge, and all of these vilgers could help him reach his goal by giving him all kinds of tasks.

And currently, they have yet to interact with him directly.

When Ken reached the bar where Linda hung out, the dy was once again sitting on the chair outside, and once he appeared, she didn't even look as she smoked.

"I was waiting for you." She said.

"So?" She turned to look at him.

"Oh? You look stronger and have more experience. I guess you found what you wanted." She said.

"I did. So what it is you want?" He asked, noticing that she wanted to say something first.

"Let's get in first." She got up and walked towards the bar, not looking back.

Ken looked at her and followed behind.

He had noticed it, but this dy had a charm—a charm that made her feel familiar to him. He didn't know why, but he was more inclined to trust her, feeling more at ease when he was around.

Still, as the cautious fellow he was and seeing how he was done the st time, he paid more attention to her, being more aware so as to not be surprised.

"How was it around there? Anything dangerous?" She asked once there, sitting on the counter as if she were a customer.

"It was more dangerous than you described." He said.

"If it was anyone else, they wouldn't be back now." he added.

"Hmm? Why is that?" She asked, slightly surprised.

It was true that she didn't have solid information about that isnd, but it was the perfect one Ken needed; thus, she thought that if he were to actually get there and back alive, he would gain much better than anywhere else.

She was right, but what she failed to account for was if the isnd had a globally wanted enemy of the world who's also a psycho-mad scientist.

"The isnd had much more than just its four guardians. I don't know how you didn't find out, but the core of the isnd had more monsters who were mutated, and as I went in, I started having thoughts that there probably was a mastermind behind it all." Ken expined, making Linda squint her eyes and listen attentively.

"Right from the second day, I was attacked by some kind of grotesque humanoid monster; it was strong, capable of flying, and more importantly... It could regenerate even if you cut off its head." He said.

Linda shivered, imagining such a beast.

"How were you able to leave then? Did you flee?" She asked.

  "Yes." Ken replied.

"I was being chased by a pack of wolves, and once I led the monster there, I had them fight while I returned." He said.

"I see. Can you describe the beast in more detail?" she asked.

"Sure." And so Ken started, but he didn't describe the 33rd angel who had attacked him first, but directly the Devil, Lucifer.

This was so the dy could have more information so as to pinpoint who could possibly be behind this.

"There's only one organization capable of this, or more like, one man." She said.

"This turned out more dangerous than I expected; I'm gd you managed to come back in one piece." She said.

"For now, you can rest on the second floor." She sadi as she got up and entered the counter.

She seemed like she was searching for something before she took out a key.

"There are two rooms; one is mine and the other is empty. You take it. This is payback for almost leading you to your death." She said.

  "Thanks." Ken took the keys.

"Well then. I'll be off." She said as she got out of the bar.

Ken looked at her and then went up to check the room.

Wherever she went, he had no need to know.

Linda, however, had taken this matter more seriously than Ken had thought.

She didn't think that guy would be there; this had to be reported as soon as possible.

She was a woman of importance, at least to the rge forces of the world. If she had this much information about many of the isnds around, this meant that naturally she would be favored.

There was a reason this pirate haven was safe from outside forces and only guarded by two guards.

And Linda was specifically that reason. She was far too important to be hurt; thus, this pirate haven was known to be the safest.

Now this woman was on her way to make armies of people move to chase the mad scientist.
