Food

I looked around the room and noticed that there were two beds. There was a desk in between them as the room itself was pretty sizable. I looked into the door that was situated to the side and saw that it was a bathroom. I opened another door and it was a closet. The closet already had clothes in it. I noticed there were two different sizes and they were separated.

I noted it down as my roommates' clothes as I took out the smaller pair. They seemed like they would fit me well but I was confused. I never gave anyone my size. Perhaps my parents did. I don’t understand how the rooms know who can and can’t open them. Magic was certainly involved.

Thinking about it was making my head hurt. I took my shoes off and laid on the bed. My body relaxed as I sunk into its comfort. I looked around and sighed in resignation. I had never been away from my family before. I felt a bit sad but I wasn’t going to cry. I had promised my family I would become strong enough to protect them.

With this in mind I got out of the bed and thought about what to do. It should be around noon now and I was feeling a little hungry. I decided to first get something to eat before coming back and changing. The clothes in the closest came in 3 different varieties. Training, sleeping, and casual. I put on my shoes and made sure my clothes were fine.

I opened the door to the room and went out. The halls had a couple people in it but a very small number. I navigated the halls as I remembered and went up the stairs. I went up more stars until I reached the dining floor. The floor was no longer carpet but wood as I saw many people. Most were talking to one another but I decided not to mind them.

I walked around on my own as I looked at all the different types of food alongside the places I could sit. As I went further into the floor I saw something which made my heart skip a beat. I walked up to the serving counter.

“ Do you guys have Frodein meat here? “

  The man looked at me.

“ We do, although we only serve it alongside full meals. What would you like? “

I looked around and saw a menu. I read quickly before making my decision. After I got my food I quickly found a spot to sit. It wasn’t isolated but more so where groups of people wouldn’t be. The plate had the Frodein meat in slices on the side, mash potatoes, broccoli which I despised, and a sauce cup with gravy in it.

Before I started eating I prayed to no one in particular. As I ate in silence I soon realized that I had made a critical mistake. I had no beverage to go alongside my meal. This was a problem. I looked around and quickly noticed a water station alongside glass cups. I saw that there were a couple people there so I waited for a little while.

Soon they started leaving so I got up, went over to the station, got a cup, filled it with water, and went back to my table all in 30 seconds. With my beverage secured I continued eating with no worries. The food itself was good and it kind of reminded me of when I still lived in Kyros.

Frodein’s are native to places of extreme cold. Although their meat is a bit gamey and tough it doesn’t put people off. In fact a lot of people like it, and it’s a popular meat choice that’s rather expensive. Since the Frodein can only be found in places like Kyros and the demand is high it’s considered a luxury in most places.

Soon enough I finished my meal and I looked around. I saw staff picking up empty dishes and whatnot, so I didn’t feel troubled to leave the table with my empty plates. I left the place and soon found my way to the stairs.

Since I was planning to go to the training floor I went back to my room. There was no sight of my roommate still, but I didn’t care as I got dressed. The training clothes were rather comfortable. The shirt was long sleeved, blue with gold highlights. The pants were similar but the shoes were black in color.

I left my room and quickly found the stairs. I went down the stairs before arriving at the last floor we were allowed on. I looked around and noticed some guards standing around. What caught my attention was a sign that read. “ Training areas are separated. Left for Warriors and Right for mages. Please go to the training suitable for your path for your own benefit. “

It wasn’t hard to think why they had separated Warriors and Mages. The training for Warriors and Mages are very different. Mages mainly focus on their mind alongside controlling and understanding the elements. Warriors focus on training their bodies, sharpening their senses, and refining their skills.

I shook my head and went through the double doors to the left. It was connected to a hall which I walked down before arriving at the training grounds. At first I was confused, but that confusion soon turned into shock.

I was standing in what seemed like a plaza on a flat hill. I walked over to the edge and saw different places. One was a track which you could run on. Another was a sparring ground with wooden weapons. There was also archery with bows and arrows. There was an outside gum alongside many other things.

I looked up and saw the sky alongside the sun. What made it weirder was the fact that I could feel the heat of the sun. The only thing I could think of was magic. There was no other way something like this could exist on an airship. As I looked more intently I could vaguely see some figures walking around. Some were notably smaller than the others.

  " There’s already some people here. “

  I muttered to myself.
