Following the 2008 financial crisis, people of the United States began to lose their trust in their own government after their tax money was wasted to bail out high-profile bankers as a means to protect the nation''''s economy. Consecutively, everyone stopped paying their taxes as a protest. The IRS was overwhelmed as it tries hard to keep the country intact. In response to the dire situation, a nationwide crackdown was set out on those who participated in the protest. Around the states, the lower and middle class got caught, fined, and jailed for evading their taxes, hence the distrust in the government became even more prevalent.
