CH. 2

"Steve, I'm back! I got good news! Two big pieces of news!" With one full swing at the door, the door burst open. Revealing a smiling Alex "Steve?" She looked around, finding the person she was looking for nowhere to be found. Her smile fell off to a frown.

"Steeeeve!" She shouted, wandering around the pce. "Where are youuuu"

  "Steeeeeeve"

The pce was a small house, all built using wood. The floor was instead made of rocks, namely cobblestone. Torch lit up the inside which was the only source of light.

"Steve?" Alex found a random hole in the house. Looking down at it curiously. It was rather pretty deep with no dder on the side. Her brows furrowed then an Idea popped into her head. She smiled maliciously. A TNT appeared on her hand. She pced a tower of blocks beside the hole before pcing the TNT at the side of it, lining it above the hole. A flint of Steel appeared on her hand as she lit the TNT and it fell toward the hole.

  "Fire in the hole!"

  BOOM!

  "ALEX?!"

"HAHAHAHA!" Alex ughed rolling on the ground.

A person popped out of nowhere. It was a man with light tan colored skin. He wore a light blue top, a pair of blue trousers, and shoes. His expression was the definition of annoyance. In addition, there was a smoke rising atop his burnt hair

  It was Steve.

"Not funny," He said, crossing his arms as he stared at the ughing Alex.

"It is! HAHAHAH!" Alex continued ughing and when she looked at the smoke rising above his head, her ughter grew to the highest level that Steve had ever heard "HAHAHAHHAHA YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THE FIRST RULE IS TO NOT DIG STRAIGHT DOWN HAHAHAH"

Steve sighed, feeling a headache from just how loud Alex's ughter resounded through the room. He really needed to put out the windows. "So, how was your trip?" He asked, bringing the ughing Alex to a stop as she looked at him.

Alex wiped the fresh tears in the corner of her eyes. "I've got good news to tell but first." A porkchop appeared in her hand. She swore a smug grin as she spoke "Porkchop"

Steve began opening his mouth to say something but Alex continued "But, not one" Another pork chop appeared ", not two" Another one appeared "But three pork chops!"

"...." Steve stared silently at her. as Alex continued

"I know after we've been dropped into this dimension. We rarely got something to eat other than apples but now that we've got these juicy pieces of meat. We can finally have a meal! Come on, don't be shy and say thank you to you, dear Alex. Probably two times, no, three times because three pork chops and all"

"That's it?" Steve asked much to Alex's surprise.

"What?" Alex asked back, maybe she heard it differently. Did he say "That's it" No, it cannot be. How can he say that without considering her efforts? Yes, she must misheard correctly.

  "Just three?"

Alex blinked, frowning with her brows lowering down to form an angry look. "Oh, so sorry mister for being a disappointment. Don't you see it's hard hunting these pigs like we're hunting a baby zombie riding a spider!" She yelled, huffing as her eyes gred daggers at him.

Steve held his hands up realizing his mistake. "Oi, No need to get angry Alex. I just assumed that you've had more than three knowing your marksman skills. It's a compliment" He tried to expin himself, nervously. Alex was…. pretty damn difficult to calm down especially if she was angry. He recalled the time when she blew up an entire mountain just because the rare mob she was following suddenly got killed off by lightning.

That was only one of her moments of anger and it took weeks just to get her to calm down. He gulped as he examined Alex's face, whose eyes were narrowing at him. Slowly and thankfully her anger showed signs of fading away as a cute pout took over her face, refusing to look at him now.

Despite that, it brought relief to him. At least he won't be taking care of another angry Alex again.

"Fine. Anyways, other than that. I finally got to meet another one of us!" Alex's tone quickly changed to a joyous one recalling her discovery.

"Wait really?" Steve's eyes bore in surprise and curiosity. Another like them? A great discovery!

Alex nodded, excited as well "His name was….Jun? Yeah, I think Jun, and he was wielding an axe. "

  "A diamond?" Steve blinked curiously

"No, it looked like an Iron if I could recall better" Alex trailed off appearing deep in thought "Though there was one thing weird about him. He has some sort of wolf ears on his head"

"Is he a mob then?" Steve questioned with a curious look. They had never met someone like them with parts of a mob on their body. Yet, they were in another dimension, so the possibilities were endless.

"No, it couldn't be. He talks the same nguage as us but he only looks different with the addition of ears" Alex replied, uncertain

"Still as long as he speaks the same as us, then he is us. It's pretty strange that this dimension has someone simir to us. The vilgers don't count since they do their own thing and have an entirely different nguage like ours" Steve said, nodding "Where is he now?"

"Oh, Uhm I kinda left him" Alex scratched her cheek sheepishly

"...." Steve just stared at her and just as he opened his mouth, Alex quickly interrupted.

"But! Before you say anything. I may have left him there but I found something more worth noting" Alex paused, silently looking at him, waiting for him to speak.

  "What?" Steve asked ftly

  "A vilge! Full of them!"

"Vilge? There's more of them?" Steve questioned, interest piqued as a fish caught itself to a hook.

"I know right?!" Alex excimed excitedly "Imagine it. We meet someone like us and there's more than one of them. Ain't it exciting!"

Steve asked calmly, "So, should we meet them?"

"Probably, what do you think?" Alex asked, suddenly turned serious

"Hmmm maybe after we finish building the base" Steve looked around, feeling the space was just too cramped for his liking "We need it bigger"

"But it's looking pretty fine with me" Alex voiced her opinion. Unlike Steve who was a building maniac, she wasn't that concerned about where they lived and the state of the house they lived in as long as they could sleep, safely and with cover. It was pretty fine with her.

Steve shook his head " I'm not satisfied with it. Bigger, better"

"Ah right. You're motto" Alex giggled, standing up. Pulling the pork chops from her inventory, she looked at the five furnaces stacked together. "Should I cook these now?"

  Steve nodded "Yes please"

+++===+++What Steve felt first about this dimension was it's…strange.

Nether, End, and The Overworld all had their unique distinct look at each other. Nether was more dangerous with va all around. One wrong step could spell the end of the adventure. The End was like an endless void with only a few sets of nd that were floating and of course, the dreaded Ender Dragon lived there. Just like the nether, one wrong step could be your st.

This dimension, however, which he hadn't named yet was more or less the same as the overworld, aside from how different everything looked but if Alex said was true then there might be more than meets the eye. At that moment, he was scouting the underground to see if he could find a cave. Alex was a typically adventurer girl with a desire to explore her surroundings. That's why the two of them decided to split their tasks. He will manage their home and resources, staying near the base. Alex's task was to explore this new dimension to gain more insights to help understand this dimension better and also gather food.

In the end, Steve did find a cave, It was rather rge which he was very thankful for but as he went deeper into the depths of the cave. He found himself in a rather tough situation.

  He was lost.

However, it was a typical situation for him. He had his few shares of the same experience as this one especially the one where he found himself lost in the nether because he forgot where he pced his portal and didn't pce blocks as traces for him to follow back. Gdly he did found a fortress and got enough materials to go back to the overworld at that time.

He wasn't really that much of a navigator, unlike Alex who could find her way out of every situation even in a rge cave. He looked at his compass seeing it was not working, he decided to just trust his instinct. His instinct told him to go right and he did without any hesitation. On the way, he found a weird-looking ore pstered around a boulder. Not iron, nor diamond, but it looked a lot like Redstone. It was red in color and had a red glow to it

He pced the torch on the side and his eyes squinted as he took a closer look. When he tried to touch it there was a slight heat emanating from it.

'Interesting' He thought while grabbing the ore and putting it in his inventory. He decided to show it to Alex ter on. She might have an idea of what type of ore is and could potentially craft it into various tools. He strolled around the cave more and thoroughly accessed everything. During that, he found more of those weird-looking ore, ranging from different colors to blue, yellow, green, and brown. He got more than 20 of each of them which he was disappointed about.

He put all of them in his inventory and when he decided to set off once again. He heard an audible growl. It reminded him of a zombie's growl but more haggard. When he turned his side to the side he saw bright red eyes, staring at him in the darkness. He blinked, showing no fear in his eyes but rather bright curiosity.

Steve tilted his head but unexpectedly the mob decided to attack, its tail flicked towards him and he was hurled back against the wall by the attack. The stone wall cracked as his body collided with it. Steve showed no signs of pain or anything on that matter. He was totally emotionless as he dismissively dusted off some rubbles on his shoulder. He looked at the beast. It was bck in color and had some gazes of white. Its eyes were red and it almost glowed like a Redstone. It had a tail simir to the ender dragon, but was small and had a sharp point at the end.

" A scorpion?" Steve recognized the mob after assessing its appearance. The Overworld's Scorpion was small but this one was as big as his current house. But the next moment, the big scorpion decided to attack as the end of its tail shot toward him.

Steve didn't dodge nor show any signs of it. Rather, he quickly grabbed its tail before the point of it could hit him right in the face.

'It's surprisingly weaker' He felt its weight to be….. non-existent. Even the zombie would weigh considerably more than this creature.

The creature appeared to be struggling from his grip. It tried to move its tail but to no avail. Steve pulled its tail and threw the creature towards the wall…hard. The creature let out a screeching sound before crashing with a resounding boom.

Steve watched as the creature y ft on the ground, struggling to stand. Its eyes however were still on him.

"Weak, but persistent" Steve noted. He raised his hand as a bow morphed on his palms. When he pulled the strings, an arrow materialized. "Let's see what you drop"

With one flick of the string, the arrow pierced through the monster's skull with no resistance. Steve blinked as the monster's body was reduced to ashes. When he approached to see if it dropped something, he was disappointed to see only a mere flesh had been dropped. He picked it up and it smelled a lot he was familiar with, rotten flesh. Curiosity got the better of him as he nibbled on it and slowly ate the whole thing. His eyes widened as he felt a burst of fvor going on in his mouth.

  TASTY!

His eyes widened at the newfound delicacy he had discovered. It tasted even better than cooked steak or chopped pork!

Suddenly he frowned as he remembered that the beast only dropped one flesh. He turned to another side of the cave he had yet to explore. His eyes fsh with a burning desire to get more of these things.

Soon, without any hesitation, he took off. This time with a motivation in mind.

+++====+++Back at base, Alex hummed a tune as she practiced her aim. The dummy she made out of wood stood in front of her with marks with the precise hits all centered perfectly. The light was dim, but she didn't need much to see her target. Each arrow she released hit the center with a solid thud. Her focus was sharp, her movements steady for all the experiences she got as an archer. The room was quiet except for the soft hum of her tune. It was peaceful until the door was smmed open

  "Alex!"

"Steve?!" Alex cried out in surprise and at the same time the bow she was drawing, let go and the arrow shot towards the gss.

"I've got food!" Steve decred proudly

"Really?!-Wait, that's all you want to say? I just miss my shot for that?!" Alex shouted, frustrated.

Steve held his hands up. This was his go-to move especially when dealing with a frustrated Alex.

"There's a perfectly good expnation for this. In fact, you'll love it" Steve expined his reasoning.

Alex slowly began returning to normal as her anger faded away and was repced by a curious look "Okay you got me hooked, what?"

"Here" Steve showed her a piece of good rotten flesh as he calls it

Alex stared at it, face contorted into disgust "You want me to eat that?! Are you-" Before Alex could finish. Steve quickly pressed his finger into her lip, silencing her immediately.

"Ok, I expected you to say that. But trust me, it tasted nothing like rotten flesh. It's even more tasty than cooked steak"

Those words pierced through Alex's mind. 'Tastier than steak?' Her interest was now piqued. "If you're lying.." Her words trailed off but the tone she was going for was imminent and Steve immediately understood.

  "I'm not lying"

"If it's one of your pranks-"

"Not a prank" Steve shook his head

Alex's eyes narrowed further at him then she snatched the rotten flesh from his hand and put it in her mouth. She chewed it and….

"So?" Steve asked, leaning in closely in anticipation. "How does it taste?"

Alex finished chewing as she gulped down the food. Her face was emotionless as she spoke "Steve?"

  "Yes?"

"More," Alex said, with a hungry look in her eyes.

Steve cleared his throat "Okay but before that, I got another find" He said, quickly pulling something his inventory

"Hmm?" Alex blinked and watched as Steve pulled out several strange ores ranging from different colors. "Ores?"

"Possibly the ores from this dimension" Steve nodded

"So, should we craft it up? I wonder how sharp and durable these tools are" Alex's eyes fshed with excitement as she spoke "But if it's as durable as gold then.."

"Don't worry, We haven't tested it out yet" Steve quickly went up to the crafting table. He pced two red ores on it, lining them to form a line and together with one stick below them. He crafted them together and a bright light illuminated revealing a sword with a red bde, floating mid-air.

"OH~ That's so cool!" Alex wanted to grab the newly-crafted sword but was stopped by Steve.

"Wait Alex, let me test it first"

  "Huh? WHY?!"

Steve calmly looked at her "I crafted it"

Alex quickly understood what he meant and pouted but didn't say anything. It was common courtesy of them that whoever crafted the item first would be one to test it.

Steve caught the newly crafted sword and felt its effect. Heat. It wasn't painful, or uncomfortable. But holding it felt normal, it was lightweight, not too heavy.

"So?" Alex asked, eying him and the sword curiously.

"It reminds me of fire aspect enchantment," Steve remarked with a knowing look as he brushed the bde with his hand.

"So it can burn mobs upon contact?" Alex questioned, slightly disappointed.

"No, rather," Steve said, quickly swiping the air with the sword. Fmes burst from his sword and surged toward the dummy. The wooden target ignited instantly, engulfed in fire.

"It can be used simir to a projectile" Steve finished as the sword's glow faded slightly. A satisfied smile was seen on his face.

"Steve, our house is gonna be caught on fire!' Alex panicked as she saw the fire start to spread.

That brought an end to Steve's stupor as he quickly realized that their base was indeed made of wood and he just accidentally set it on fire.

"Wait, let me bring the water bucket!"

  "Quick!"
