Chapter 1 - Regression & Determination

The sky wept in a crimson light. Ashes, and dust spread, flying throughout the area. Skyscrapers fell, and crumbled. Creating a chaotic landscape, seemingly derived from hell which is not far from the truth.

Lucien sat on the ground, leaning on a crumbling wall, two of his legs gone, his left shoulder, heart too. Pools of blood flowed from him into the concrete, coloring it with red. He felt his death, like tens of crawling insects burrowing underneath his skin, slowly consuming what life remained.

Lucien looked up towards the red sky. His life leading up to this moment, briefly flashing in his mind like a mirage. Soon, Lucien heard footsteps. He turned his head towards it.

“A beautiful sight? Is it not?”

Radiant long blond hair, and blue eyes. A girl who was not even 130cm tall, still emitting an aura of youthfulness. However, Lucien knew, her outer appearance is but a mere facade, inside of that girl is a world ending disaster. The one who made the red sky, the killer of humanity, and destroyer of the world.

The Rank 10 Chaos Entity, codenamed The Little Girl.

Lucien looked at her with cold eyes. Humanity teamed up against this disaster, sending in the strongest Chaoswalkers from each to their respective organizations. However, it was too late. The Little Girl was already too strong, she had reached the level of the divine, the Rank 10! No mortals, none below Rank 10 could match her, even Lucien himself, the Strongest Rank 9 could not help but feel helpless in the fight against her.

‘To contend, one would need to also achieve Rank 10. To reach god himself!’

Lucien’s vision shook, his thoughts becoming harder to form together. The blood loss has already started to get to him.

“Oh dear, are you dying already? Do you want me to save you?” The Little Girl grinned. Lucien scoffed at ‘it’.

“For what? To be your slave?”

“The world would be a little bit lonely without anyone. Besides, out of all the humans, you are the most interesting so you have the qualifications to be my servant. How about it? The world is already ending anyways, there is no second chance at life other than this.” The Little Girl smiled.

Lucien smiled too. He then opened his mouth.

“I have a question for you? For what reason do you destroy, and do evil?”

The Little Girl frowned, tilted its head before it smiled and laughed.

“Hahaha. A funny question, human. For what reason do you create copious amounts of entertainment? Movies, games, videos, pornography, for what reason do all these things exist?”

The Little Girl spread its hands out.

“For fun, for stimulation, and ecstacy! Because life is boring! If, for a mere human, that is the case. Just how much more will it be towards a divine being such as myself? Does that answer your question?”

Lucien’s mouth opened and closed before he replied.

  “It did.”

‘All of this…For fun?’ Lucien wanted to laugh but he couldn’t. Just for such a worthless reason, ‘it’ destroyed the world, and ruined many lives.

Some humans tried allying themselves with the Little Girl. Afraid after seeing the depths of her power. Needless to say, they all got tricked, betrayed, slaughtered.

  This time Lucien laughed.

‘At the end of the day, the Little Girl is a world ending disaster. An antithesis of humanity. She must be killed without being given any mercy. It’s either her, or humanity who survives.’

Lucien’s eyes flickered with determination before he grinned.

“Hm? What’s with that smile? Did you go insane? Or perhaps you accepted my proposal to be a servant?”

“Hardly. Little Girl. Let me tell you a few things.”

  “Huh?”

Lucien looked at the blue eyes of the Little Girl.

“You are not god, nor a divine being. You are but a mere Chaos Entity, a bit strong, a bit intelligent, yet ultimately, you are still worthless.”

In a split second, Lucien was lifted up high in the sky. The hands, and nails of the Little Girl digging into his neck, causing him to feel a crushing pain.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

“Looks like you really have gotten insane. Hahaha, well this is fine too. I can just get another servant for myself. There are lots of other interesting ones other than you.”

Lucien grabbed the thin arm lifting him up with his right hand, and pulled. Despite the size difference, the strength of the Little Girl was more than his, so he could not rip apart the arm to free himself, in fact, he couldn’t even budge her hand, but that is fine.

“I shall prove it to you. Little Girl.”

  The Little Girl frowned.

“You really have gotten insane. How exactly will you prove it when you are about to die? How low humanity’s greatest warrior has fallen!”

The Little Girl pulled her other arm, intending to kill Lucien. Yet, as if he didn’t hear her, Lucien continued.

“I shall prove it. At the end of the day, humanity will win!”

Lucien’s eyes then glowed, and changed. His blue irises changed into a light blue clock, the hands of the clock spinning rapidly.

“What!” The Little Girl flinched. It then quickly tried to pierce through Lucien’s head, however, its movements gradually became slower until it froze, as if time and space had stopped just for her.

‘What is going on? Did he still have this much power left? No! Even then, he has never shown this much power before!’ The Little Girl thought.

Lucien laughed seeing the flustered look on the Little Girl’s face. For someone who proclaimed to be a divine being, how ugly her expression is. Yet unfortunately, even with this, he could not kill the Little Girl. In fact, even if he could, what’s the point? The world has already ended, there is no meaning even if he won. Therefore, he decided on something else.

Still held up in the Little Girl’s hands. Lucien commanded the Time Lord, the Rank 10 Miracle on the same level as the Little Girl. Using every energy of the present, and future. Every life force, every power he had, to fuel the Time Lord. He shouted.

  “Return me back in time!”

Lucien then felt a change in the atmosphere, and he saw. The world stopped as if they were a painting, before ashes and dust turned back, crumbling buildings gathered together and rose up. That was Lucien’s last vision before he lost consciousness.

In the past he wondered. What exactly time is, was it a concept? Something tangible? Regardless of what the definition of time is, Lucien felt he was going against the normal flow, as if he was an exception, a taboo even. His soul, consciousness, flowed back through the stream of time, he felt it but could not think.

What felt like a minute, an hour, a day, a month, a year, and an eternity passed by. It was long, and short. Sickening too. Yet after an uncountable, and undefined amount of time. Lucien opened his eyes.

Light shone and it made Lucien close his eyes before slightly opening it. He saw a dull, gray ceiling, and a lightbulb. Rubbing his eyes, Lucien sat up straight, before he opened it and looked around.

Bookshelves filled to the brim with books ranging from self help to literature. A desk with papers, pens, and thick books scattered all around. A laptop opened in the middle of the desk, its screen black. A sense of familiarity arose in Lucien’s consciousness yet Lucien didn’t recognize this place.

‘Where is this? When was this?’

Lucien’s clouded fog of memories then started to get clearer. He then rummaged through his body before finding a phone in his pocket. After he checked and confirmed the time, he breathed a sigh of relief.

‘Oh thank god, the Time Lord succeeded.’

Lucien then thought back to the time where he had gotten the Time Lord. Truthfully, he could not remember much. He only remembered he had dreamt of something, and then the Time Lord was given to him by someone or something. Only when he woke up did he automatically know what exactly the Time Lord is, and how to use it.

However, he had never used it directly because he was too weak to use a Rank 10 Time Lord. Hence, Lucien was worried about whether the Time Lord would work or not as it is his first time using it. It was akin to a bet with the world on the line.

And he was successful considering the evidences laid before him. Lucien closed his eyes and felt around the inside of his body. However, the all too familiar process he was used to didn’t work at all. Lucien smiled bitterly.

‘I guess right now, I am not yet a Chaoswalker, and am just a regular human.’

Lucien then stood up, and walked around his room. He confirmed through his phone that he had gone back in time for a total of fifty years. It was a long time for a human, therefore it could not be helped that Lucien’s memories are foggy, not to mention his experiences as a Chaoswalker has basically overpowered his memories as a regular human. Because of it, Lucien walked around, hoping to spark some memories, and remember what exactly he did around this period of time.

Minutes passed, and the fog started to clear up. Lucien looked at the bookshelves, and the desk. He then remembered a keyword. College Entrance Exam.

‘Ah, right. At this point, I was gunning for the top three colleges in the area.’ Lucien smiled. Reminiscing. It was a bittersweet period where he was still unaware of the horrors of the world, living as an ignorant student. He remembered being so ambitious, wanting to get the first place, to get rich, to get the best life he possibly could. But now he could not remember why he wanted those things. And he didn’t care. Something else was much more important than those things.

‘There was a certain day where I got exposed to the world of Chaos. When was it…’

Lucien closed his eyes to remember. He then opened and widened his eyes before he opened his phone again. His eyes focused on the date.

  ‘It was today!’

Lucien remembered clearly. Not just because it was the day he got exposed to the bizarre supernatural world but also because it was the day of the entrance exam for his first choice of college, and for the first test too.

“Hahaha! Not giving me any time to prepare huh?” Lucien smiled. Whether it was a good thing or not, Lucien didn’t care. He had gotten a second chance. To stop the world’s end, and to overcome the disasters that had yet to come.

Lucien started preparing to go to the entrance exam location. He put on whatever outfit he had on hand, and looked into the mirror. Reflected in the mirror was a young man with black hair, and blue eyes, though he looked young at a glance, there was an infinitely deep chasm in his eyes, as if he was a sage who had experienced many things in life.

Lucien’s palm went to the mirror. He then smiled.

‘Little Girl. This time, I shall kill you.’
