The clock was making a sound of Tick-Tock. It was three at night. He heard it again. He woke up and began to breath heavily. His friend woke up and was angry because it was fourth time in that week.

  He told him to sleep and not to disturb him. But he was still panting and then he started sweating. His hands were trembling. He got up and began to walk towards the bathroom.

  The moon was covered with clouds. There was a tree outside the house. Whenever wind blew, it made a sound of rustling leaves. But when he thought about it, it sounded weird in night time. There was a nest of owl who made his sound. It sounded like a warning. Suddenly, the clouds which were covering the moon, began to shower rain. And it sounded like a trouble. He was afraid of all these noises. And suddenly the lightning flashed and it shocked him. He intentionally screamed in horror. His friend came out and yelled,

  ”Arthur!! I had enough of you.”

  That’s right, his name was Arthur. He was thirty years old and he was delivery boy at Pizza Hut. He had no money. That is why he was living with his friend, whose name was *Bruce*. They were childhood friends and they were also partners in work.

  Arthur was shocked but he asked for forgiveness and so they went to sleep.

  In the morning, they woke up and Arthur first went to see the Doctor. He told him that he kept hearing screaming noises in his sleep. But the Doctor didn’t pay any attention and said that it was just a mild case of *E.H.S* (Exploding Head Syndrome), in which a person hear things or sounds and even explosions in his sleep.

  He thought the Doctor was right and took the medicine. He finished his work and came home early. He tried to notice all the sounds, he was hearing in the night. He heard the sounds of rustling leaves, clock’s tick tock and he also heard dog’s barking, but they didn’t sound dreadful like in the night.

  His friend came back and after eating food they went to sleep. It was happening again. He woke up but this time he was dead serious. Without waking his friend, he went out and kept thinking. Other than hearing screams, there was another thing which he was hiding from everyone else. He had also seen dreams of him, killing the same person which were missing next day.

  He was tired by all of this. He went back and told his friend about all this. Bruce laughed and said,

  *”It was just a coincidence.”*

  But when Bruce jokingly dug the hole in which Arthur dreamt of putting corpses, they were shocked to see that there were *six* dead bodies. Bruce ran towards the police station to save his life.

  But Arthur had no idea about he had done it and why would he do that when he didn’t know any of them. He remained shocked until the police came and arrested him.

  There were noises of crying people, Ambulance, Police and reporters but all Arthur could hear was the sound of rustling leaves.

  In the court it was proved that Arthur was mentally ill and he was sent to mental asylum. He still heard screaming noises and became more and more ill.

  It was night time again and there was sound of *laughing* and also *screaming*. It was Bruce killing another person.

  There was sound of water tap. Bruce was washing his hands and he heard the sound of rustling leaves. The moon reappeared and clouds were gone. He gave a smirk and went to sleep while whistling.
