One Hundred Fifty Three

Seulgi got changed – without help – into something more suitable to go out to dinner. Jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and sneakers were the order of the day.

  He was already in causals.

Yeji was still in her work outfit, with small sptters of blood, but no one mentioned anything about that.

  Suki was already impeccably attired.

So, they trooped over to Yeji’s pce so she could dress down. They got to her pce, and all three trooped up to her pce. While Yeji changed her clothes, Seulgi tsk’ed and started to clean up her pce. It seemed a habit to show up and clean for them. Her father just observed the goings-on as he didn’t know what was safe to clean and what was important. Some things, empty food cartons, empty cans, dirty dishes, and the like, were obvious.

He helped his daughter tidy the pce, but he left the disposal of things to her. Soon, all that was left was cleaning the dishes, which neither was inclined to do, especially as there was a time limit.

By the time Yeji was ready, her pce was not ‘clean’ but it was habitable.

Yeji moaned, “Seulgi, you are supposed to be taking it easy.”

“Well, you were taking your time and I needed something to do.”

“SIR! Put that down!” She saw him with a rag, dusting a shelf.

“What? I was just killing some time.”

“You are both terrible. I see where she gets it from. And thank you.” The poor woman had turned crimson. “There was no need for you to do this.”

In unpnned unison, “Yes. There was.”

Seulgi followed up with, “You are always helping me out. So shut up and accept it.”

“Yes, ma’am,” was said with a special spite. And that was followed up with a clobber behind the ear.

The father just smiled at the kid’s antics. “Come on, you two. I’m hungry.”

Seulgi had been touting a restaurant, pying up the food and how it was her recent favorite and that there were special features. Not to mention, they were going to be meeting up with a few people that he already knew and a lot more that he didn’t.

For some odd reason, he was a social butterfly who was closer to Nayeon than Yeji. He actually liked people (when not killing them). So, he was looking forward to dinner.

They trooped back down to Seulgi’s car after locking the apartment. From there, they went to where everyone was meeting up.

They pulled into the parking lot and both Seulgi and Yeji saw cars that they recognized.

As they were getting out of their car, they saw Gillian getting her little one out of hers. Yeji jogged over to give a hand. There were always associated bags, seats, and other things to go along with kids.

Seulgi tucked her hand into her father's arm and they sauntered over toward the door. They took enough time to meet the other at the door to hold it open to let them inside. Seulgi’s father took the bags that Gillian was carrying. He Oofed as they were heavier than he expected. Seulgi and Gillian hugged while Yeji held the child. Yeji did not much care for children, but this one was special.

They all went inside together. Nayeon and the Twins were already there, already being loud. They gave a cheer as the group walked in and they all headed toward the table. Since the party was growing, they shoved a couple of tables together.

JooHyun came in behind them. She quietly joined them as they walked toward the table. She managed to stun Seulgi’s father by simply looking up under her shes and affecting a small smile. He, ever suave, tripped over his own feet and nearly stumbled. Seulgi was ready for this so was ready to steady him. She didn’t expect him to say very softly: “Perfect.” Once he was back on his feet, she went over to give a quick hug to JooHyun.

Her father was right, after all.

  Katie showed up as well.

There was a loud squeal of “SEULGI!” and the person’s father noticed that she physically started bracing herself as if she was about to be hit. And she was. She got glomped by everyone’s favorite waitress and took a hit that would have knocked many lesser people off their feet.

The irrepressible waitress then saw JooHyun and shouted “Hyunnie!” and tched onto her with a loud kiss on the cheek. The older woman was mortified at this but accepted it as normal.

After all this, Seulgi got her team mobile again and everyone went over to the table. After everyone was seated, introductions were made. Seulgi lost herself in the role of hostess of the party, making introductions for everyone. Everyone was thrilled to meet her father.

Nayeon immediately started asking for the dirt on Seulgi’s childhood.

Her father asked, “This is the one you warmed me about, right?” The entire table erupted with ughter. Nayeon is louder than the rest. Much to the displeasure of the manager, but he was getting used to this group. Even sober, they were worse than drunken college students.

Soo-Young took this table away from the normal waitress who hosted this area. The person in question did not really mind too much. After all, they looked to be trouble. And she was right, they were trouble.

Soo-young was introduced properly to Seulgi’s father, then she got everyone’s drink orders and left them to figure out what they wanted. Seulgi, and much to his delight, JooHyun sat on either fist of her father and they discussed what was good to eat there. Only a fool would be unhappy to have JooHyun next to them. He was no fool.

Soo-young came back with the drinks, Seulgi’s father noted that the strongest drink order was beer. This was a positive note in his estimation of these people. He had a low opinion of people who got drunk in public and lost control of themselves.

Soo-Young startled the older man by plopping down next to JooHyun and started taking everyone’s orders. Since everyone seemed to be used to this, he just rode with it. When it came time, to put in his order, Seulgi put a stop to most of the girl’s impending mischief at a new, and handsome, face. She introduced him as her father, stressing father. It was good that she was smart and took the hint to py it straight with him.

Some people you just don’t py with. He was one of them.

About this time, Bhuwakul found his way into the restaurant, apologizing for being te.
