Ch 1 - Tutorial

Izuku Midoriya has never been like "normal" children.

A bit of staring here, mumbling there, analysis everywhere and you've got him in a nutshell. But he's so much more under the surface. A caring and compassionate child who would help anyone in need in a heartbeat, leaving his own needs in the dust.

That's partially why he was bullied

He didn't care about himself. He let others pick on him with nothing more than a downpour of tears shed.

And the rest of the bullying was because he was quirkless.

Quirkless. A label that shouts in neon text that you're useless and a disgrace to the human race. That's what the term Quirkless means to almost everyone.

Izuku was devastated when he was diagnosed. He had wanted so much to be a hero... To be useful. To help people with a smile...! However, it was not to be.

At age 5, his world shattered.

He tried to pick up the pieces and started Martial arts classes with gymnastics. Worked hard in studying. Doubled down on his analysis. He was wearing himself down every day to wake up and start the process over again.

At age 7, he was mentally exhausted.

With everything he was doing, all. The. Time... It was impossible not to be tired in Izuku's circumstances. But he felt so hopeless at such a tender age that he developed depression early on in life. Not to mention his anxiety.

At age 10, his Dad left.

Izuku didn't want to believe what had happened. What had been happening for years. Izuku's family was crumbling under the pressure. His father, once a loving and caring man, turned into a cold and pitiless abuser. Izuku was almost glad he left... Almost.

At age 13, he met his idol.

All might has always been the light shining into the darkness for Izuku. He thought meeting the man would be forever engraved in his memory as a momentous occasion... And it was. But not for the right reasons. Because Izuku asked his question. And the answer brought him to his knees.

  "No"

At age 13. He gave up.

He stopped everything. No martial arts, no gymnastics, no schoolwork. No analysis. He was tired and broken by this system of bigotry and discrimination. So he quit... Put down his notebooks, shut his mouth, and slept with his eyes open.

He'd seen the dark side of the world and turned his back.

  Until it came.

Waking up was always an experience for Izuku. He Lied in bed for minutes after the alarm went off and started at the ceiling. That's the normal.

  What this was wasn't normal.

The blue box floated above the boys head, almost condescendingly. Izuku just woke, and this day is already confusing.

Despite the box floating above his head, Izuku remained calm, beathing a sigh. "Well, I guess I'm hallucinating now" The boys thoughts matched up with his tired expression as he rubbed at his right eye. After another minute of staring and realizing that the box would not be leaving, Izuku tilted his head and reached out to touch the blue box. now that he was kind of awake, his mind was whirring, trying to make out what the box was. it spoke of HP and MP, like health points and mana points, so maybe it's from a new video game? but he hadn't purchased a videogame recently and he's not wearing a headset for that kind of thing.

With a small tap, the blue box disappeared, another one appearing in it's place.

"A game was installed? Where?" Izuku looked around and found nothing out of the ordinary besides the blue box. His brows furrowed slightly as he leaned up on his elbows to look at the screen more closely, only for the box to move with him, as if oriented from his head or eyes. after another few seconds, Izuku reached out and pressed the Y option.

"Wonderous, huh?" Izuku gave a grim smile before shaking his head. He must be insane... Well, It's been fun so far, might as keep going. "Menu"

The... The world was Stopped!? Izuku turned to the window beside his bed and pulled the curtains away revealing a orange sky from the dawn, and there, on the left was a bird frozen midair... "Holy Shit"

With pressed lips, the boy clicked on "Stats" mentally.

The boy blinked for a moment, looking at his stats before he winces. These don't look good... "Hey system, what's the average stats for an adult male?"

So Izuku has great intelligence, not so great strength. "That's about right. I know what all of this means I think, I've played a lot of games in my lifetime to be social with people who have no idea who I am."

Izuku takes a deep breath. This was a lot to take in... but it looks kind of fun. He still doesn't know what most of the game entails, so he listened through the rest of the tutorial. Inventory was a bunch of boxes in front of me that hold stacks of 10 and skills were interesting.

Izuku has three hard won skills, but he's a little confused on what qualifies a skill. "I'll ask in the help section later then..."
