Extra: Never Forgotten (Part 1)

  Set about a few months after Leini learned some shmuck had sent mercenaries to capture her.

  Leini stepped off the teleportation pad and found herself on Nordriechs' continent. She was not here to visit her family despite wanting to, no, she was here to see a certain 4th Prince of the Valkyrie Kaiserreich. She was going to drop in unannounced and she had with her some interesting remains stored away in body bags inside her item box that she was ready to just drop to the ground. From what Leini could recall, the Valkyrie Kaiserreich was a sort of new nation, new in the sense of it being 60 to 70 years old which feels like 6 to 7 years for Leini who has lived thousands by this point. She had arrived in the capital city of the Kaiserreich, the city of Stürm which was a prosperous city by all accounts, the skies had airships flying across the city from the Imperial Airport and the city was alive as the streets were bustling with people going on and about with their daily lives and it looked to the outside that everyone was in good spirits, especially with the founding festival of the Kaiserreich nearing.

  "Hmm, for a 70-year-old nation, they got around quickly" Leini muttered to herself as she walked around the city on the way to the 4th Prince's personal pace located in the southwestern district of the city.

  As she walked, she felt many people staring at her, and most of it was because her beauty encapsuted them and she simply shrugged it off because this had happened many a time before and this wasn't going to be different, at least that's what she thought. While she continued to walk, however, she noticed that there were several figures following her, and that made her quite curious as to what was on their minds this time. Were they going to kidnap her because she looked like an easy target so they could use her for ransom? Were they going to stick a knife in her back and rob her? Or were they some sickos who would just kill her for being so beautiful and thus decided to kill her for it?

  'Let's just see what you want with me' Leini thought as she used her mind-reading magic and then took a peak into her stalker's minds

  {!}

  To her surprise, the stalkers were part of another group of mercenaries who were on their way to kidnap her and by sheer luck at least for them, they spotted her on their way to the teleportation pad to the continent of Kani. She kept walking but her mind was occupied by what should she do now. Should she just stop in her tracks and let her be taken to her destination? Or should she have some fun and beat these fuckers up just to vent out some anger that had been building the past few weeks because of work, needless to say, she picked the tter with a small smirk as she just stopped in pce.

  Her stalkers also stopped moving and waited patiently for her to move, their eyes all on her despite the crowd passing by, and then, she was gone.

  {!}

  The mercenaries were confused as she suddenly disappeared into the crowd despite all of them having their eyes on her, some of them stepped out into the street, moving their way to where she stood and then looking around, anger and disbelief on their faces as they looked around and then at their comrades who were also sharing the same expression.

  "She's fucking gone!" One of them excimed as he regrouped with his peers

  "How?! We were literally looking at her dammit" Another added as she looked back at the spot where they just lost her

  "Weren't you both right behind her? Did you not see where she went?" The head of the group asked two men who were the closest to the target

  "Negative boss, she vanished into thin air. Hell, I didn't even sense her use magic"

  "Does she even have magic? The fucking analyzing crystal didn't go off when we tried to scan her from afar"

  "She must have, how else can she be the head of the best university on Kani if she doesn't have magic?"

  "Good question"

  {!}

  Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice chimed into their conversation, making the mercenaries' eyes go wide as they turned to where the voice was coming from. Then, without warning, they felt themselves fall through a hole in the solid ground they were standing on and fell through it before nding in a decrepit alley in another corner of the city. The group of mercenaries had their backs to a wall and blocking their only way out was their target, not counting the walls they could climb to escape but when one of them tried just that, they were hit with an invisible barrier that sent them back down to the alleyway.

  "You know, I think it was a stroke of luck that we found each other today. I get to vent out my anger and you lot get to find your target easily" Leini said as she looked at all of them

  "Just make it easy for everyone miss...Please. The 4th Prince just wishes to speak with you" The captain of the group said as he stepped forward, his hand on the hilt of his sword and slightly shaking as he felt deep down this was a very dangerous situation

  Leini looked at him, seeing the 5'9ft (175.25 cm) tall man standing before her and in front of the other mercenaries of various races. He was an older man probably in his te 40s, his hair now silver and short but still spiky with a rge scar left on the right side of his face that stretched down to his neck, his skin was also much paler in comparison to his compatrios. His leather and steel pte armor wrapped around a built figure that seemed to be past its prime but still good enough to fight, though she knew that if it was against her it meant little. Still, they didn't attack her outright and she wanted to see where this was going to go.

  "Hmmm, interesting. I was just about to go and see him too" The Dean of Imperia said as she rexed her stance

  "So you will come with us? Peacefully?" The captain asked with a hopeful tone buried underneath yers of seriousness

  "Hmmm...I do not know...you see, I've had a very stressful week and I find this entire situation annoying, so I may not go peacefully" Leini said as she manifested 'Augusta' into her hand a brief fsh of light that illuminated the alleyway before pointing it forward directly at her would-be kidnappers

  "I see...looks like we have to fight after all" The captain said with a hint of regret as he unsheathed his long sword and held it with both hands while the rest of his troop did the same, all of them looking slightly nervous but determined nonetheless

  "But before we begin. May I ask, were you actually going to try and kidnap me?" The Old Schor asked as she lowered the sword and looked at the captain of the mercenaries dead in the eye, her gaze sending a slight shiver down his spine as he choked on a gasp for a moment

  "No...the pn was to simply just ask you to see the 4th Prince. If you refused, that would have been the end of it on our end because I am smart enough to know that trying to kidnap someone with prestige such as yourself will undoubtedly end horribly for me and my men" The captain replied with a steady tone

  Leini kept her gaze on them for a moment longer, using her magic and her impeccable senses to dig for any falsehoods and when she found none and saw that the man and his crew were being truthful, she let out a disappointed sigh as 'Augusta' turned into sparks and went back into her item box.

  "So be it. Refreshing honestly, meeting a mercenary crew that is smart enough to just stick to the job and see it for what it is" She told them as she pced her hands on her hips and looked at the captain of the group

  "Professionals have standards Ma'am. And we are professionals" The captain replied with a small nod that made Leini chuckle

  "Indeed you are. Very Well. I will enjoy having an escort to the 4th Prince's pace. Though I must warn you ahead of time that things may get...violent. If push comes to shove" The woman before them said with an unseen smile hiding behind her stoic expression

  "We are merely there to bring you to him, get paid, and then leave. Whatever business you have with him afterward is your own Ma'am. We prefer it that way to ensure we don't die without reason"

  "Smart Man" Leini added with a small nod of recognition

  "Thank you"

  A few minutes ter, Leini was escorted to the pace of the 4th Prince, Prince Adalbert of the Valkyrie Kaiserreich. The pace was grand, it had a slightly bluish-grey color palette that decorated the outer walls. The pilrs of the hall made it look like a fusion of Roman and Greek architecture from Leini's old world. Beautiful, grand, a big statement made manifest and it was surrounded by walls and an iron gate to keep intruders out, and from what Leini could sense via her impeccable senses and magic, teeming with guards patrolling inside the pace and its grounds, maids and servants inside walking about and doing their duty, all of them probably loyal to the 4th Prince waiting for her inside.

  The group stopped right in front of the iron gate, there were a few guards

  "Right. I believe we just drop you off here Ma'am, get paid, and then leave" The mercenary captain said as he looked at Leini who kept her gaze towards the pace

  "Hmmm, I believe so...I never really got your name though" Leini said as she turned to him

  "Focht Ma'am. Falker Focht of Focht's Rangers. If you ever need assistance in the future, I would be happy to oblige" Focht replied with a small nod, the young man's eyes looking at her with quiet curiosity

  A few moments ter, one of the guards stepped forward. The guard was dressed in what could only be described as a typical Imperial German suit underneath a set of armor with armored pieces that covered only the most crucial of areas but left the rest exposed as it was not a fully-fledged set of pte armor, atop the guard's head was a silver pickelhaube with the insignia of the 4th Prince pstered on the front, an eagle carrying two shields. Holstered on the side was a bastard sword and the man looked at Leini before bringing up a parchment tucked away to his side and bringing it up for a facial comparison.

  "Hmmm, everything seems to be in order" He stated as he stashed the parchment away and moved back into the guardhouse before coming back to the group with a rge sack in both hands.

  "The 4th Prince thanks you for your efforts where many have failed. He believes this amount will suffice" The guard grunted as he pced it at the feet of Focht who was a bit surprised by the size of the payment but wasn't compining.

  He bent down and opened up the sack, pulling out a rge gold bar and then looked up at his crew who were all equally shocked and then at Leini who simply nodded at him. He then pced the bar back inside the sack and then signaled for the orc in the group to get the payment who then securely fastened it on his back like a pouch without incident.

  "Yeah, it's more than enough. Tell His Highness our thanks for the gracious payment"

  "That will be noted" The guard replied before turning back to Leini

  "And you Ma'am. His Highness is waiting for you in the main lobby. I will be escorting you in, so if you will follow me please" He said as he began walking past the iron gate that was now opened

  Leini took one st look at Focht and his crew before giving them a smile and a nod, returning her gaze back forward and then following behind the guard.

  The 4th Prince wanted to meet her so badly? Well, now he was going to get his opportunity.

  A/N: I'M BACK! Will start off easy with an extra story then back to the main one!
