Chapter 13: Finally Finished

  “FINALLY!”

Albion tossed loose papers filled with random notes and writing into the air. Celebrating his success.

He had finished learning the language completely, he knew how to read, write, and speak Welfth almost as well as any Faye would. He could still only speak three of the words he had dubbed ‘true words’ but that was beside the point.

He could finally read the book as it was intended to be read. This was a terrible experience that he never wanted to have to go through ever again. Studying that much, well, it drove him insane…he couldn’t think of anything but Welfth. He had read some of the other books in here, trying to keep himself in high spirits. Trying desperately to stay sane. It hadn’t really helped. He just wanted to finish what he started and put it all behind him.

“The Great Encyclopedia: Summoning… no author…”

This book took forever to translate…at least it sounded interesting. Summoning? Summoning what?

The book was extremely detailed. So detailed it was difficult to read. There was just so much information. His already delicate mind nearly broke.

Somehow though, he managed to power through, and he was glad that he did because summoning, well…it sounded amazing.

It was a magic so rich and unexplored, the summoning of the creatures called Faye.

He needed materials he didn’t really have, but they weren’t rare or anything. Just some Prana crystals, Chalk, herbs, water, clay, and extensive knowledge of an extremely difficult lost language that has been extinct for god knows how long.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

They were things he could find in most markets.

All you had to do was put the herbs, chalk, and Prana crystals into a bowl and grind them into a fine powder. You then use a bit of water and clay to help it hold together.

Then, things diverge a bit here. With this simple mixture, you can do all sorts of things. You can create models of the Faye and bring them to life, create gateways for the Faye, create summoning circles, and even create Faye of your own if your proficiency is high enough. The differences in summoning were vast and interesting, all of them making different use of the catalyst mixture and the language of the Faye that tapped so deeply into Prana.

  “Wow…”

He was happy that all his work was at least worth his time. He had all the knowledge. He had even learned the secret of the Faye. The book stated it clearly.

They were not a naturally occurring species, they were summoned from Prana by those who knew Welfth and the methods with which to use it.

Someone of power could even breathe life into objects that held Prana, the journal and the ring were likely created that way. Granted, they weren’t as strong as Faye depicted in the book, but they were extremely convenient. Maybe even more useful than a Faye. The ring couldn’t fight, but with it, he could teleport anywhere he has seen. The journal was almost as helpful, keeping track of any information you gave it. The perfect notebook.

Now he really wanted to get out of this Library.

He needed to see what this summoning was all about.

What kind of Faye could he summon, after all this time?

How long had it even been really?

  Had it been a year?

Did he even want to know…probably not?

What he did know was that he had read the book so he could finally leave, this is what the journal wanted him to do, and he had completed the task with flying colors. He needed to leave to get the things he needed.

He couldn’t sit still he was so excited!
