CH.309 Fighting and Flight plans

“... Well, Aulis wasn’t kidding when he said it was close to a poputed area.”

I was with Ali the Factory, ing up with a pn to take on the uping dimensional fissure. But the location was quite bad. I holy wish it was anywhere but there.

Okay, I guess it could be in the middle of a city or something. That would be even worse. But this isn’t good either.

Oh, by the way. For our rewards for taking care of this fissure, Alice was going to be getting her Language prehension (humanoid), while I was about to unlock a new set and two new ‘decks’. You remember that deck purchase thing my Pack Opener got at some point? Yeah. I was going to get two hings to purchase. Even if they aren’t teically decks, but whatever.

For the new set, I was going to get Power of the Duelist. And then the ‘decks’ Duelist Pack: Jaden Yuki and Duelist Pack: Chazz Prion. Reasonable rewards, I’d say.

“We just have to keep whatever appears away from the city then.” Alice stated. “Maybe put up a barrier as an insurance.”

The pce where the fissure was going to appear was within the borders or Ruiso kingdom, but just barely. It was right o the city… What was its name? Do I even know it? Well, whatever. It was right o the city that was oher end of the bridge that ects the Hero’s try and Ruiso kingdom.

You remember that, right? From when I took Cailie to the Hero’s try?

The Hero’s try is an isnd, ected by three bridges to the three kingdoms that surround it. And each kingdom has a rge city right there. And the fissure was going to appear only about 4 kilometers from the edge of the city that was on the Ruiso kingdom nds.

Aka. a bit too close to the city, where I could call it fortable. Because at that distahere is no way the people iy won’t see Exodia, the fissure and whatever monsters I use to fight the things that appear from the fissure.

“... maybe we could use HomeBase’s invisibility barrier?” I came up with a potential idea.

“Not possible.” Alice quickly said. “It is too specific. We would o modify it, so that it be emitted away from HomeBase. And that just isn’t possible iimeframe we have.”

“... when did you have time to study that spell?”

“When it was being developed. Of course I would look into it, as it is a potentially useful tool for my mission.” Alice pointed out.

“Oh. I didn’t know that. Well, thanks for the pointer. Now I o add ‘making a tool that make an invisibility barrier’ to the list of things I o make.”

“That shouldn’t be too difficult, I think. Just use one of those devices that pull mana from the Citadel core and add a magic circle to it, which produces the barrier. We might even be able to make one in time.”

“... Does that mean you will take care of it?” I asked.

“Sure. I think I do it.” Alice said. “Though I’ve never really pyed with that developer terminal you made, so it might take a bit of time to get used to it. I’ll also o ask for some help with the spell.” What Alice was referring to was a terminal on the trol ptform of the Factory, where I had lihe item developer of my Dungeon Founder skill. It was basically just the same 3D CAD software that I use when I make items with Dungeon Founder, but having it lihat way allows both Alid Lua to use it.

“I think Fantasia will know the best monsters for that, so talk with her about it.” I reminded Alice. Fantasia really was amazing when it came to knowing my monsters. She probably khem better than I did. Just because she spends all day everyday here pying with them. Other thaime she spends with me, Laura or Tahlia.

“And what about the monsters? I still don’t have anything to match up against an SS-monster.” Alice brought up aopic.

“Well, do you want to go for a walk around the Factory to find something stronger? Or just take a look at my Colle? Or maybe I install a few cards into Dark Padin to boost his power?”

“... Let’s check out your Colle first. If we find something good, I’ll take it. But if not, let’s install a few cards into Dark Padin.”

  Spoiler

[colpse]I opened my Colle and sorted the monsters by attack points. This made me realize that my first four stro monsters were all Blue-Eyes monsters. But then again, attack points aren’t everything.

“So what do you think? Ultimate A Gear Golem? Or maybe Master of Oz?” I asked Alice.

“... they ’t fly, so maybe not. And I’m not the biggest fan of mae monsters in the first pce.” Alice admitted. “I’m guessing Obelisk is off the limits?”

“Yeah, sorry. I could give you ohout a divine sleeve, but it won’t be nearly as powerful. Well, it will still be a 4000/4000 monster, but it ’t use its effects without a divine sleeve, so…”

“I’ll take a Meteor Bck Dragon, thanks.” Alice said.

  “... really? That easily?”

“Well, it is the best option. And I do have Red-Eyes Bck Dragon already.”

“Oh yeah. You do. … then maybe I should give you ahing as well.” I quickly searched for a certain Red-Eyes monster. “Here. Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon. Like Dark Padin, it gains more attack based on the number ons in yY, so if your Card Summets a GY feature, it will go nicely with Dark Padin.” I also gave her the Meteor Bck Dragon and a Meteon. As well as a sed copy of Red-Eyes Bck Dragon, just because I feel like she could use a sed copy of it.

Spoiler[colpse]“Thanks. I hope this will be enough.”

“Agreed. Now, how about those installs for Dark Padin?”

  Spoiler

  [colpse]

In the end, I only added Bck Pendant and Book of Secret Arts to Alice’s Dark Padin. I could have installed more equips, but let’s test him out like this first, before we go too far. And I might get some better Equip-Spells ter.

  Spoiler[colpse]

The hing on my agenda of dealing with the dimensional fissure was getting some permissions. Last time I visited the Hero’s try, I got some fk for not submitting a flight pn, or something like that, so this time I was going to do just that. Even if I wasn’t sure if I’d go all the way to the Hero’s try. I might still go close enough, where whatever radar they used to locate me st time might pick me up.

And for that, I needed someone who knows more about this stuff. Mainly Mariina. Yeah, we may have been relying on her a bit too mu the st few days, but what I say? I have to do what I have to do. And it isn’t like I know of some flight school I put myself into, where I would learn this info.

Because she was my only hope, okay, it isn’t that bad, I just wao make the reference. Because she was my best choice, I sent a letter to Mariina about needing her help, and askio meet with me.

I got a respohe following day. Mariina had, as I instructed her, sent it to the adventurer’s guild, who then put it into my letter exge box. Gotta love the fact that the guild does the work you pay them to do, and don’t ask too many questions. I wish more people worked like that.

The response was for ‘date’ with Mariina at a somewhat well-known tea house in Sawyer city. And it was for this afternoon. Because of that, Alid I had to prepare to head ht after we had some lunch. Lucky for us, Gradius makes the trip take only some minutes.

“So, what is it this time? Maybe revealing that Duke Burch is secretly trying to overrule the Monarchy? Or maybe that Baron Pineda is secretly someorying to resurrect the demon lord?” Mariina jokingly asked, as we met up at the cafe… tea house.

“Nothing like that this time. Not that I’d know about those things in the first pce. I just need some info.” I answered.

“Info, huh. And it is something so big that you need a sage didate for it?”

“Well no, but also you are the only ohink would have any ideas about it.” I told her. “So, Alid I have some business close to the Hero’s try. We won’t be going all the way there, but we have a … small operation we have to dht o that city that is on the Ruiso kingdom side.”

“Alright, I get that. But what do you need me for? You just fly over, right?” Mariina asked.

“Yeah. That is the part where I need you. See st time I went to the Hero’s try, my airship was intercepted by some guards and they didn’t like that I didn’t submit a flight pn, or something like that. So I wao ask about that. How should I inform them that I’ll be ing over?”

“Oh? That is quite a bit more basic than I was expeg.”

“... so you know about it?”

  “I suppose I do.”

“... would have been o have a heads up before st time.”

“Admittedly, I fot. I don’t own an airship and I’ve only ridden one once. Well, other thaimes with you.”

“Yeah… I guess that might expin it. So how do I submit one?”

“I could tell you… but what do I get iurn?” Mariina teasingly asked.

“... is there something you need, and or want?”

“Oh, there are so many things. But because this is a simple favor, something simple like a ride to the capital in your airship will do.” Mariina said.

“Sure, I do that.” I agreed. That will only take about 2-ish hours in a B.E.S. monster, so that is not a problem.

  “Wait, really?”

  “... you don’t want it?”

“No. Of course I’d love it. I just didn’t think you’d agree so easily.”

“It is a lot better than your usual requests, so why would I not agree?” And that is me being ho. I was fully expeg some questions about installs, fusion or other things my cards do. Or maybe even a visit to HomeBase, or something.

“Well, you could at least tell me why you are headed back to the Hero’s try? Or Oroco city I suppose.” Mariina asked.

“... that would be a secret, sorry.” I told her. Or did dimensional fissures fall into the OK to talk about category? I think Aulis only bahe Chaos God stuff.

“Going to see that merfolk girl?” Mariina asked, trying to tease me.

“... Alice is right here, you know.” I pointed out. “But holy speaking, I might go and see if I meet her as well. Just to check up on Cailie.”

  “Still worried about her?”

“Well, I did take her there, so I do have some responsibility for her. At least in my opinion.”

“I’m sure she is in safe hands. That city is probably the best p the world to live in.” Mariina reassured me.

“Not any more. HomeBase is better.” Alice joked.

“Not yet it isn’t.” I corrected. “It needs more work.”

“... and what would this ‘HomeBase’ be?” Mariina asked.

“My Home.” I answered. “I’ll invite you at some point, when it is ready to accept guests. Well, it kind of is now, but only in very limited numbers.”

“I am just one person. Even if you ihe others, it is still just four people. Didn’t you just take four sves there? And I think it is safe to assume that the catfolk twins are there, as well as that dwarf dy.”

“Einar and Eline aren’t actually twins.” I pointed out. Though admittedly I also thought they were twins. Actually, they were just born close to each other.

“Doesn’t mean my point is moot.”

“Well, if you feel like sleeping on the floor, I take you there right now.” I told Mariina. “But if you wait about… two weeks to a month, we will have more furniture ing in. I’ll also have better avatar dolls by then and so on. It will just be a bit better than it is now.”

“Avatar dolls? Have you made something iing again?”

“... you’ll see them at some point. Maybe Alice will learn how to do that fun thing with them by then.”

“Now I want to e even more. Even if it means sleeping on the floor.” Mariina said. “But I be a big girl and wait. As long as I get to be a part of the first party you hold there.”

“Sounds like a deal to me. Now, about that flight pn…”

In the end, the flight pn was actually super simple. All we had to do was send a notification about when we would be flying in, hoeople, and what type of ship we would use, to the adventurer’s guild headquarters. And we could do that at any guild branch, as they all have that magiunicator thing.

I took care of it, and submitted the paperwork by the end of the day. Now Alid I could go to … Oroco city I think it was, and take care of the problem. The day I submitting for was one day before what Aulis said, just so I cause the fissure myself, instead of having it burst on its own. That way, we will have time to prepare the barriers and everything else, before any strong monsters pop out.
