CH.47 Remote check on the Dungeon

After the tea time, I had no clue on what to do, so I decided to do my job as a dungeon founder and took a look at my dungeon.

Dungeon 22_090 (unnamed)Core Status: StrongMiasma Status: LowMoatus: SomeFounder: Brian WoodCurrent Master: None Geion Points: 60Geable ItemsSo some monsters have appeared there.

(Laura, do you think I should do something about it?) I asked my information source.

(It’s not necessary. Until a rge amount gathers, a dungeon founder shouldn't interfere.) Laura told me. (The monsters will simply live within the dungeon until there are too many of them. If a rge build up happens, the miasma and mana they are using for sustenance might run out and they would leave the dungeon en masse, so interferen the case of a build up is necessary.)

(I see. I wonder what kind of monsters live now in the dungeon.)

(You could take a look.) Laura told me.

  (What? I ? How?)

(Master’s thoughts trol the skill, just try.) You make it sound simple Laura. Well, I’ll try. Get me some security cameras in my dungeon.

…It was simple. I have eight ss in front of me, dispying the rge rooms of the dungeon.

For monsters, we have basic skeletons and some dark skinned goblins. They look like wingless spear cretins. I room, before the core room, there is even a skeletal dinosaur. So it’s mainly skeletons as the main force of the dungeon and the little imps as, I would guess, assassin types.

The skeletal dinosaur is iing. If it’s really based on Uraby, it might be strong. I guess we did use a really high ranking core for the dungeon, so it would make sense.

The core room is also pletely monster free. I find that iing. I would have thought that there would be mohere as well. It should be the most mana rich pce after all.

(There are none in the core room, as I have used Master’s skill to prevent them from going there.) Laura told me.

(You do that?) I asked her.

(Yes, Master. Setting rules like where monsters aren’t allowed to go, is within the power of a dungeon founder. Even a dungeon master do it, but the effectiveness is less than the and of a founder. A dungeon founder is almost a god, within the dungeon.)

(Not that part. The part where you could use my skill.) I told Laura.

(I have usage of all system linked skills Master has.) Laura told me. (For other skills, I must have the permission from my Master.)

(So… you could use ‘Pack opener’? It is a system skill, right? Or at least it uses the system window.)

(I could use most features, Master. But I ot open packs with it. That seems to be power only Master use.) Laura informed me.

(So you could do things like gh the colle and make sleeves, right?)

  (Yes, Master.)

(That’s good to know. I just have you make me sleeves if I ever hem. I’m sure you will be able to choose cards I wouldn’t use for other things.) I told Laura.

(I am gd Master believes ihat much.) Laura said happily.

(Of course I believe in you. I know you would never betray me.)

  —

  Diime is here.

I’m not that hungry actually. I think it’s because I really didn’t do anything today. Perhaps I should have gone for a walk around the town. I have some pocket money and I o buy some gear after all. Water tainer, bedding and a tent at least. I make clothes with the dungeon, so those are not super necessary. Also my current ones don’t seem to get grimy no matter what, so I could keep wearing them, but getting clothes is a part of the otherworldly adventurer. I would love to have a magic water fsk, like the one Lucia has, but I doubt I could afford one. I could possibly make oh the dungeon, if I was able to analyze the one Lucia has. I have to ask her the ime we meet.

“Dear, how was the guild?” Christina asked Brandon.

“It’s not as bad as I was expeg.” He answered. “The day to day operation is running smoothly enough, thanks to the work of ‘Diamond sword’ and ‘Prime Rib’, but the wyvern is causing some problems. Sales of that magnitude really shouldn’t be done by a a guild master.”

“Didn’t you name Zayaan as the new guild master?” Christina asked.

“He is not approved by the guild anization, so he ot be given the full title. I made him the emergency guild master, but even then he might not have enough respect from merts out of town. He’ll have a hard time with the iations on the wyvern sales.” Brandon expined.

“But hasn’t Prime Rib been the party that delivers some of the best meat in town for years?” I asked. “Shouldn’t that give him some credit?”

“Sales in town and out of town are different. The meat that is taken out of town is dealt with by Baku trading & transport. On exported meat, keeping the freshness is paramount, so skills like item box, that slow down spoiling are paramount.” Brandon expined. “Otherwise we would only be able to export cured meats. And cured meats are not dealt with by adventurers, but by smokers and chefs. And the main exports of this town are meat, both cured and fresh, wheat and the boar hides. None of them are something an adventurer would sell directly to an out of town mert.”

“And that makes Zayaan's credit in town useless, right?” I firmed.

“Yes. He might be known in town fh css, bloodless meat, but that doesend to outside merts.”

“’t he just ask for help from someone like this Baku pany?” God that name. I hope they won’t try to take over the world, or fill the world with darkness. “Wouldn’t you have the power to order them to do something like that?”

“And risk the biggest pany in town pulling out of here?” Brandon asked back. “It’s simply not worth the risk.”

“Well, I guess you're right.” I admitted. Even if you do something, you shouldn’t always do it.

“And what about the previous guild master?” I asked. Didn’t Henry go see him.

“He has pletely locked himself up. He did give Henry a resignatioer and I approved it.” Brandon told me.

“I hope he won’t spend the rest of his days trapped inside because of me.” I sighed. “I uand he has some PTSD, but … well I guess it might not be an overrea in his case. But we should make sure he uands that he won’t bee the dungeon master.”

“Oh. Then did you choose who yoing to name as the dungeon master?” That got Brandoed.

“Yes I did.” I told him. “And it’s not you so don’t get your hopes up.”

“I told you, you have no other choice, didn’t I?” Brandon came on to me. “You ’t pick Zayaan, or any other member of his party, uhey have approval from the Guild anization. So you have to pick a noble. And I am your only choice.”

“Think again.” I told him. “Or more like look to your left.”

As the baron turned his head, the one he saw was his smiling wife.

“You… you didn’t. Why would you steal that honor from me?” Brandon asked his wife.

“Why wouldn’t I? If I hadn’t Brian would not have named anyone in this family as the dungeon master.” She responded. Well, it is true. I don’t think I would ever name Brandon as the master.

“Brian, what did I do to you to deserve this?” He turo me and asked. Holy, if yoing to start fake g now I might just have to leave this house and live at a hotel. Or would it be an inn?

“Why would you ask that after what happehis m? You should damn well know why you have been losing my respect at an arming rate.” I told him.

“This m? I didn’t do anything to you this…” I think he finally let his memories catch up to him. Yes, you indeed ordered your men to attack me, and kill me.

“So, now that you realized what you did, are you still going to question why I won’t name you as the dungeon master.” I asked him.

“But… But that was just a momentary pse in judgment. Anyone would react the same way.” He tried tue.

“It’s not just you yuards to kill me, you know.” I told him. “It’s also the way you obsess after the prophecy. If I gave you the powers of a dungeon master, you would likely just use them to fulfill the prophecy. To the point where I would assume you would attempt to use the duo create the behemoth. I mean, why else would you use the core of the lesser behemoth in the dungeon?”

“What do you mean he ‘used the core of the lesser behemoth’?” Christina asked.

“Didn’t you know? He had me use the lesser behemoth core to reactivate the dungeon.” I told her.

“...” Seems like Christina is now wordless. “You used a national treasure level core TO ACTIVATE A DUNGEON! What IS wrong with YOU!?” Christina yelled at her husband. It's national treasure css? I heard it was S-rank, but I didn’t think S-rank would be national treasure css. Family treasure, maybe. But national? That sounds made up.

“Is it really that valuable?” I asked “I heard it is S-rank, but that doesn’t sound like national treasure to me.”

“Brian, I don’t think you uand how rare S-rank monsters are. And to be able to extract a fwless core from a S-rank monster, after it is defeated, is extremely rare.” Christina told me. Well I guess the core would get damaged easily as you pound on the monster.

“Yeah, sorry. I didn’t sider the fact that the core could get damaged.” I admitted.

“You are not the ohat should be apologizing.” Christina told me. Her icy gaze was still pierg a hole into Brandon's head. Please don’t kill him with it. Or actually, go ahead. That would save me the trouble of dealing with him.

With the marriage trouble ah threats, our dinner came to an end. For me, it’s off to a bath, and then bed.

On the agenda for tomorrow. Bee an adventurer. Or at least register.
