Chapter 111 Elite Battle Begins & Veronicas Weapon

Nobody moved everything was still too fresh and the two closest to Veronica just stood there and stared. The two main elites in the center gripped their swords tightly and the bodies that lay before them friends who they had started this journey with when the walled city government decided to build these facilities and do testing on the women who have gained these supernatural abilities.

The longsword wielder took in a deep breath and his eyes narrowed in Veronica's direction. He started to laugh. "You're pretty good. I would love to know where you came from. Punches holes through my men is no easy feat." He was going to take a step forward but then he stopped, and the sound of a bird's wings flashed by his face and he felt a cut into his cheek. "Argh!" His hand shot up to touch the wound. A trickle of blood was on his fingertips. He turned.

Glade was there. The iron ball that used to be hovering next to her had separated and what looked like small needles were floating around her. "What's the matter only interested in Veronica? My good man you have a better opponent in front of you besides your other two men need to get their heads out of their asses before they die at her feet."

The longsword user flicked the blood off his fingers licking his thumb and pressing it against the wound on his cheek. He turned to face her stomping both of his feet into the ground and putting his sword forward. "How are you going to fight me woman with a bunch of little needles?"

She let out a soft giggle waving her hand in front of her as the needles started to coalesce. She put her right hand out and grasped a handle extending her right arm out and produced a longsword similar to the leaders. "I think you'll find that I am more than a match for you then you think." Glade pointed the blade at him smirking as she did so. "Come when your ready boy."

Veronica had heard the leader's speech or his idle threat. However, he was currently distracted, and she saw the thin needle that had gazed his face flash by her and hit the wall. She smiled turning her attention back to the two who were still in front of her. Veronica's arms were drenched in their comrade's blood, and they were not moving. She looked to the right and then to the left tilting her head up and raising an eyebrow. "Aren't the two of you supposed to be elites? It seems to me that you are more like grunts or minions. Aren't you going to fight? Your friends are dead and their blood stains my body. What are you doing to do about that?"

The two men started to hyperventilate a little bit not sure what they should do and now Veronica had to make a choice. She would either need to charge them blindly killing them both or just stand there and wait for them to react. It didn't matter which one happed first everyone in this room that wasn't apart of Crismon Judgement was dead anyway. The only two that were left out of the four that stood before at the start were the axe user and the man with the staff. He was in the center, but he moved only slightly changing places with one of the sword wielders.

She was a bit ashamed of the two of them right now. The staff wielder would've been dead if he hadn't moved and now all they did was stand there with their fancy little weapons. She let out an exasperated sigh. "If you two aren't going to move then I will." She looked from right to left again and then decided that the staff user was going to be her first target. She stepped forward with her right foot and brought her right arm back loading it similar to the first time when she took out the other two. A smirk crossed her face as she finally locked eyes with the staff user. She winked and thrust her fist forward.

His eyes widened and he finally reacted bringing his staff down and meeting her fist head on. She flashed a grin as her eyes went wide savoring what was about to happen. However, she wasn't prepared for what happened next. Her fist slammed into the staff, and she was expecting to break it in half like a twig, but the same pinging sound it made when it struck the floor earlier resonated around them. She stopped a quick look of concern flashed across her face, but it was quickly replaced by a smile of anticipation. She looked up at the man he couldn't be much older than her and his face had a beard, but even though she was going to kill him she didn't think he looked half bad.

She tilted her head to the side pushing her fist against the staff. He had put it at an angle against the ground and was holding it steady. "You are strong. Tell me what is that thing made out of? Because nothing has stood up to my fists until this point." She pushed a little harder but was surprised again to see him resist her."

The man took in a deep breath finally some strength and balanced had returned to his eyes as he looked down at her. "Your moves. That facility was destroyed. I was one of the only guards to leave that facility alive and the only reason was because I got a transfer right before everything went to hell. You are supposed to be dead." He let out a soft chuckle impressed someone had actually survived that explosion.

Veronica echoed his laughter with a devious giggle. "Sorry to disappoint you. That staff it's made from my body, isn't it?"

"It was the only thing produced from that facility before it was destroyed. It's supposed to be a one-of-a-kind weapon, but now it looks like we found more materials." He chuckled a bit looking her up and down savoring taking her apart to make more weapons.

Veonica's smiled dissipated and her eyes narrowed. "That is not yours if anything it is my property." She put more force into her arm trying to push him back as she did, so she pivoted her left foot bending her knee and bringing her left fist up attempting to get inside the staff's reach and hit him with an uppercut. If this landed his head was coming off.

He had been focusing on her fist, but then out of the corner of his eye he saw her move. It only took a second, but he saw it. He jumped back spinning the staff in front of him to block the uppercut jumping back a few feet. He spun the staff around him switching from right to left and then ending in the left hand slamming it down on the ground again this time the ping from the noise resonated bouncing off all of the walls and causing everyone expect for Veronica to wince a bit.

"So, it uses the vibrations from the impact or the shockwave to distort people's hearing and affect their balance." She took in a few breaths letting out a sigh afterwards. "That doesn't belong to you and I'm taking it back right now." She took a step forward and then heard a battle cry.

The axe wielder had finally regained his composure, but she was not playing around. The axe came down and she leaned back to step away. Her left hand came up behind him grabbing him by the back of his armor as her right came forward going underneath the axe's reach as her knuckles clashed with his armor, but just like the other two from the beginning her fist crashed through it and instead of going through him she pulled back at the last second caving in his chest and flinging him backwards crashing into the wall. The axe fell out of his hands and dug into the ground beside her. She took in a deep breath and tilted her head to the side looking at the staff user. "He shouldn't have interrupted me."

The staff user's eyes had widened another one of his comrades was taken out in what seemed to be a single blow. Of course, he never got the chance to meet Veronica when he was at the facility and the reason for his transfer was because of his skills, but this woman she was ridiculous. He had never seen someone as skilled in martial arts as her and he had been training most of his life. The only reason he chose the staff was because it was made from a material that was said to be indestructible and now, he was seeing the source firsthand.

"You are going to give it to me now because if you don't." She paused letting out a devious giggle breathing a bit heavily. "You're going to die. Well, you're still going to die like everybody else, but if you give it to me now, I'll save you for later. It's not yours."

He raised an eyebrow looking at her. "Are you a broken record? That's the third maybe even the fourth time you've said this isn't mine. I hate to burst your little bubble lady, but this is mine and you are not touching it." He spun it around in front of him again extending it outward with his right hand sliding on his left foot bending his left knee and keeping his right leg straight as he tilted his head to the side and looked at her. "If you want it come and get it."

She hadn't smiled genuinely in a while maybe a few moments as a grin crossed her face and she let out a playful giggle. "Fine but you'll regret that decision. Also, I have touched the staff at least twice with my fists." She winked at him sticking out her tongue a bit.

People were pairing off and starting to fight. Veronica had already killed three and Glade was about to faceoff with someone who claimed to be the leader of the elites in the room. Eve however had yet to choose a foe. Thanks to Veronica three were already dead and she was matching up with the staff user and Glade was going up against a longsword user. The dual wielder had not moved from his spot, but Eve decided that was Glade's territory and she wasn't going to interfere. That means the only ones that were left were the six against the wall. Of course, that was a lot more than she had ever taken on at once in such a close quarters area. However, the only one in that room at the moment who matched her close combat wise was Veronica and she had made a mental note after seeing what Veroncia just did never to piss her off ever. However, six was still a bit of a difficult thing and even though they were not in arms reach the rifles were close at hand and she needed to do something about that.

Eve moved forward walking towards the six who were off to the side. She studied them carefully wondering why two of them were barehanded if they had martial arts why the hell weren't they taking a stance or moving into the battle. Three of their elites were killed and they just stood there. The ones with the gauntlets with blades inside were intriguing. However, the two that she was really looking forward to fighting were the shield user with the electrified stun baton and the dual sai user. She decided to ignore the others. She turned her attention first to the man with the shield and the electrified stun baton.

She simply walked up close to him standing in front of him and tilting her head to the side. "Well, you're the only one that overdressed for this occasion. You got a shield a baton almost full body gear. You know I killed a guy earlier who had gear similar minus the shield and the baton. You know what I did?" She reached into her pocket pulling out the small dagger. "I jabbed this thing into this throat and as I can see you have the small flaw. What is with you people and not protecting your throat?" She flipped the dagger in the air catching it by the handle. "Do you understand what happens when you don't protect your throat?" She moved around a little sporadically stopping for a moment taking two fingers and tracing them across her throat giving them a wink.

The two men looked at each other and then looked down at her. The guy with the shield put down his baton for a moment hanging it from a clip on his belt. He removed his helmet and placed it on the table as he bowed his head. "It would seem that you think you are a great warrior coming up to me acting like you're about to take me down. Talking as if I don't tower over you." He took in a deep breath exhaling down in her direction. "Those men were part of my unit. We are supposed to be the suppression squad and your comment about not protecting our throat that's what our shield is for. However, there aren't enough shields to go around so only the higher-ranking men are given one. So, the ones who don't get a shield are supposed to better protect themselves. If he didn't put anything to protect his throat that was his own fault." He unclipped his baton from his belt engaging it. The electrifying sizzle echoed through the small area, but only in that corner.

The man with the sais pulled them out finally and spun them in his hands. "You are an interesting little girl. I'm going to enjoy poking you full of holes."

Eve let out a playful giggle. "Oh, the two of you are precious. Especially you big guy. As a commander not caring about the death of your men is deplorable. Even more so not giving them proper equipment when you're standing here looking like a statue is even worse. So, how about I teach you how things actually work." She reached into her coat.

Both of them took defensive stances. The shield coming in front of the bigger man to protect himself while the sai guy jumped backwards crossing his sai's in front of himself ready to block any incoming attack.

She smiled and threw a dagger and then a second out of coat going to her left. They flew through the air just about as quick as Glade's needle. One bored itself into the side of the head of the farthest barehand elite while the other jammed into the eye of his partner next to him. She wasn't even aiming for the eye the only reason it hit him in the eye is because he looked to see what the commotion was. Five elites were now dead.

Another giggle escaped Eve's lips. "You talk as if you don't think we can kill all of you. You are elites and I don't understand what the hell those two are doing and we'll probably never know because I didn't feel like continuing to look at them. Everyone else has an interesting weapon or at least an interesting gear set, but those two were just standing in this room practically weapon naked and I couldn't abide that."

The gauntlet users backed away moving towards Veronica instead of dealing with Eve. Eve looked at them out of the corner of her eye putting up a finger and swaying it back and forth clicking her tongue as she did so. "It doesn't matter whether you come against me or Veronica your fate will still be the same." She turned her attention back to the shield user and the sai user. "You're supposed to be elite tacticians and fighter, but I think the only thing y'all are good at doing is guarding a bunch of prisoners in what is ultimately a steel box."

Everything was starting to unravel and come out of hand. Fights were starting and ending all over the room. The gauntlet users were now frozen in place not knowing which way to move while Eve was readying herself for a pretty intense fight or so she hoped.

The dual sword wielder just stood there in the center, but not for long. Valentina slowly walked up to him with Eclipse on her left-hand side. "Hello, my name is Valentina, and I will be your opponent."

"Hmph, you actually think you're going to fight me? I am the second in command of these men and you don't even seem like you have a weapon. What could you possibly do?" He sighed raising an eyebrow looking Valentina up and down.

Valentina let out an exasperated sigh looking back at Eclipse for a moment. "Do you want to kill him, or can I kill him?"

"Well, Valentina, it doesn't matter what I think. I shouldn't be doing any fighting at the moment and besides with your power you could've already killed him with his own weapon." She let out a giggle of excitement.

"Hey now, that isn't a bad idea." Valentina smiled thinking of how to execute Eclipse's suggestion.

"What are the two of you babbling on about?" He sounded annoyed.

"Well, I guess you're about to find out." Valentina put up her left hand and took her middle finger and thumb snapping them together as she did, so everything slowed almost to a halt. She moved forward walking up and grabbing the sword from his left hand. His grip was strong, so she had to break two of his fingers to release it. When she finally took it from him, she spun it in her hand for a moment. "This is pretty good quality. Second in command my ass." She took a stance putting her left hand out and putting right hand above her head with the blade pointing towards the second in command. Her left leg was extended forward while her right was bent a little at the knee. She thrusted her right arm forward plunging his own blade into his right shoulder blade. She pulled the blade out and stabbed him on the left side. She spun the blade flicking blood onto the floor but since time for everyone else was stalled it just floated in the air for a moment and now, she stabbed him again right above the stomach. The final stab went for his chest, but at the last moment she decided to move, stop, and drive the blade into his right hand pulling it out.

"Well, I guess it's time to end this." She spun the blade one more time to get his blood off of it. She returned to the same stance that she started with and thrust forward driving the sword into his left lung. She released the blade, stepped backwards, put up her left-hand middle finger and thumb and snapped again. Blood splattered on the floor around her and Eclipse's eyes went wide.

The second in command doubled over and retched blood coming out of his mouth. His sword was now in his chest. He took in a few stagnate and ragged breathes. "H..... ho... how?" How was the only word that escaped his lips before his body slumped and fell to the ground. Thankfully the way he fell did not break his blade that was sticking out from his chest.

Valentina let out a devious laugh. "You told us they were elites. What the hell is this?"

Eclipse took a moment to look around. First the second in command on the floor. The three men killed by Veronica. Two by basically being gored by her arms. The third was killed by having his chest caved in by a pulled back punch and then of course Eve killing two just to prove a point to something she was talking to and now Veronica was in a head-to-head fight. Eve was in a two on one fight and Glade was about to fight the commander of the elites. Now the numbers were even or better yet in Crimson Judgement's favor.

Eclipse put her left hand on her forehead and rubbed it up her head through her hair laughing as she did so. "We have been complacent for far too long." She laughed again taking in everything that was happening and wondering why it had taken them so long to do anything. These guards weren't elite not to them. All they had turned out to be where victims. Nobody could stand against Crimson Judgement and Eclipse was finally starting to see that firsthand.
