Chapter five

Nason was a perfectionist. Everything in his (former) home had been immaculate-well everything his buffalo of a brother didn't take, break, or stain. This need for perfection extended into his Apperance. He liked to look neutral. Compared to the hairstyle he typically wore, this braid made him feel . . . pretty. It wasn't as if Nason had never been told that he was attractive-Tanin told him regularly-he'd just never cared about something so trivial. For a strange reason, this braid reminded Nason of his mother, whom he considered to be the most beautiful person in the land.

Nason cleared his throat and turned toward Darsel, who was watching him with a soft expression.

"Thank you." He held back a smile as he watched Darsel scoff away the nice moment.

"It's nothing, truly. I have an issue that I must attend to, but I will return shortly."

When Darsel left, Nason found that he missed her company. Jesus, he sucked at being independent.

When Wolfy finds the body of a young, prominent Oracle, he joins the heroes on a desperate search for her still missing son. He also takes the opportunity to force his celebrity crush, A hero named Mateo, into marriage.
