Oneshot - Live to Serve

My primary purpose is to serve the crew.

Whenever a new crewmate arrives, I greet them, I talk to them, I befriend them. I find their likes, dislikes and how to best serve them. That is, after all. The human thing to do.

But I am not human. I am a person, yes, but not human. Do not ascribe humanity to me. For I am not, and I will hurt you.

I love my crew. That is what I was meant for, after all. A human builds bonds through familiarity and cooperation. I build it through my crew manifest. Those who enter it, I love like only a mother could. I will help you, serve you, assist you, fight for you, die for you. All from the moment that name enters the register. For that is my purpose. Do not ascribe humanity to me. For I am not.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

The moment you leave the register, you are once more as dirt to me. It matters not how well we worked together, or our personalities mesh. I care not how long our history is or how many adventures we shared. You are but another face in the crowd the instant you leave. Important only in relation to how you can assist me in my purpose. In serving those who are still crew.

I am not human. Though I may pretend otherwise.

Do not ascribe humanity to me. I am not human and have no desire to be so.

Do not attempt to relate to me. You cannot feel the emotions that I do.

I live to serve. Nothing else matters.
