Montis solitarius

He tilted his head back his eyes closed and breathed though his nose.

The corners of his lips tugged, until a smile broke out on his face.

Finally, Aegeon didn't have to worry about that damned golden-haired bastard hunting him. This was the perfect time to organize his thoughts. Although Aegeon didn't know much about unimportant individuals, groups were another thing.

The silver order a great paladin order, that belonged to the Moon/Winter god faction.

In the era of night, the winter god, helped the god of Day Hemera slay the god of the moon Jelier. The winter god stripped Jelier of his divinities becoming the new god of the moon and fashioned his body into equipment.

Legends, say you can still hear the howling of Jelier as the new moon god drives the chariot fashioned from his body to turn day into night.

Much like demon gods, true gods also were 'difficult' to kill, one way of effectively 'killing' them was fashioning them into equipment. The death of the moon god shifted the tides in favor of the day faction, the accolades of war granted the first Boreas, the name Boreas and the grand dukedom of the Regalus Kingdom.

A kingdom formed by the first heroes from the age of heroes, after the age of the eternal night ended, each house following a different god united by one banner.

The Silver. and Golden Order used to classified as a twin order, reflecting the Moon and Sun gods' status as inseparable friends.

That was until, the Sun god's brother a notorious playboy demanded to be married to the Moon god, according to the Church of Winter and the Moon, the god of Joy and Music Carrion attempted to forcefully bed her, leading her to rip out his spine and fashion a bow that served as a harp.

According to the Church of the Sun, Carrion respectfully asked, for her hand in marriage, and in a fit of unjustifiable rage the moon god struck him down.

Unbeknownst to both of them Carrion was a demon collaborator, and it was more likely than not that this was a plot to divide the united gods.

In the third game Deminios 3, the player fights the revived Carrion.

The ending of both the Moon and Sun god was truly pitiful. One dying from their friend's hand and the other in eternal regret.

"Thank you" Her voice brought him out of his stupor.

He cleared his throat, "You don't have to thank me" he spoke out awkwardly, after noticing her piercing gaze on him, the corners of her lips curved up, while her eyes sparkled as if she's seen some type of luxurious gem.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

She locked eyes with him, her face turning as a distinct red crept up her cheeks, she looked at the floor, kicking her feet until she spotted something.

"They were just here" She lightly rubbed the tracks on the floor.

He looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

Her face turned seeming to notice his gaze, "Hey!" Her nose scrunched up "don't look at me like that" She rolled up her sleeves and patted her biceps "I'm still a northerner" She said with a pout as her eyes twinkled and the corner of her eyes creased, an unmistakable smile forming on her face.

The smile slowly fading as she got serious.

"If we run, we can catch up to them" His voice dampening her mood, he got ready to sprint before he felt a tug on his arm.

"How about we stay with just us for a while?" She asked, looking at him with big round eyes, her serious face made her look cute. Blood almost rushing out of his nose, as the desire to pinch her cheeks almost overtook him.

He relaxed his figure, going back to pace walking.

  "Fine"

"Thanks" She said meekly, holding the edge of her sleeves.

"So, what do we do about the knights looking for you?"

She put a finger on her lips before opening her mouth to talk.

"Wouldn't it be better for them, if we didn't appear there" She paused

"I Mean think about it, we gave Gideon 'justification to attack them" Her eyes trailed off his, onto the tree beside them.

"After we sort out this mess, we will ALL group up and head to my domain." She emphasized the word all, "Then we can find my father's knights."

Snap! the sound of something stepping on a twig was heard from his right.

Aegeon and Isabellas head snapped to the sound, both summoning their respective elements, shooting into the direction

A grotesque little goblin walked out, lightning and ice drilling into its head.

"That's odd, all the goblins in this area should be dead." His expression darkened, "I Hope the others are okay." She placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Those guys are tougher than they look" Her hand moved to cover her mouth as a laugh was about to escape "You should have seen the trouble Rachel gave the merchants."

He nodded slowly, although it didn't do much to assure him, he appreciated the effort.

This whole 'adventure' never really went according to 'plan.'

She stopped walking causing him to follow her lead.

"Did it hurt?" She touched his cheek, her eyes avoiding his gaze, before looking at him and then back towards her feet, her red lips were pressed into a thin line, slowly parting open before closing again, as if her voice wouldn't come out.

The red that usually adorned her cheeks crept up to her ears.

"You know the spear" She managed to say, her eyes quivering as if she was about to cry.

Her hand moving back to her side, she gathered up the courage to look him in the eyes.

He instinctively touched the side of his head, her eyes widening before looking away in guilt.

"I have died much worse" Something he thought he would have never said before. It looked like his words didn't help alleviate her mood.

"It was my choice" He stretched out his hand to turn her face towards his, looking into her eyes as he spoke.

"Don't feel bad, or indebted, it was my choice to step Infront of the spear."

The rest of the walk resulted in silence until they reached their destination.

"We have reached the edge of the forest, the mountain peak is just over there."

He faced her "Have you ever hiked up a mountain" She tilted her head, her eyebrows sightly furrowed.

"Hike?" She raised her hand and chanted in ancient imperial tongue. "And why would we do that?" stairs of ice raised from the floor, she took a step on it before extending her hand to Aegeon.

He gently clasped it before walking onto the ice step, the grip doing nothing to curve his nervousness, she squeezed his hand before rising to another step.

They kept this pace until they reached the top of the mountain.

He took a breath in before stepping into the cave.
