Hello, Louigoas here. As I said yesterday, this is an author update ( of sorts).
I started writing around five years ago, mostly short stories and TTRPG campaigns for my friends, with a lot of world-building to boot. And had ideas for much more developed stories roaming inside my mind for a long while. Which led to me uploading my first-ever chapter on October 2 of last year.
And as many of you have noticed, it was riddled with mistakes: grammatical and tenses related. I am thankful to those that brough it up to my attention, as they had completely passed under my radar. No matter what I want to say, uploading my story on RR allowed me to be confronted with reality. I took a lot of things for granted, which has led me to a debacle that lasted these last few weeks.
From using the right tools to edit and correct my text, like Grammarly.
To sticking to a good life hygiene/routine ( taking walks, eating on time, etc...)
And most of all, trying to pour more thought and time into prepping my chapter and stop winging it.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
To that end, I have a few points I will strive to work on: conflict, combat, and danger. Especially as the next volume will see more of those.
While the first volume was intended as a slower-paced beginning of a journey of self-discovery and healing.
The second will focus on exploring conflicts of different genres and contexts related: to societal, familial, and emotional/romantic. How to stand up for oneself while not taking the shortcut that is cruelty and gratuitous violence. To know when to use the right tool at the right moment.
I will keep my style of maxing "the show don't tell" method. While also trying to add a bit more subtlety (which is something I found I didn't do enough IMO).
If you have any remarks, opinions, or suggestions about my story. What I did good or bad. What do you want to see more or less, or if there are things you absolutely want to see?
Please leave a comment and tell me about it. The more ideas I have tumbling in my head, the better. I cannot guarantee anything, as I still have a mainline to follow. But I can make some bonus chapters about them.
I do not know how long I will be on a hiatus, but I will try to keep it as short as possible.
Thank you all once again for the time and energy you've spent reading Of Ink and Hope, I will see you all soon enough with both volume two and my new story.
Bye!
