Chapter 5: Welcome Adventurer

Audi pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the Adventurer's Guild, stepping inside alohe st of roasted meat and ale filled the air, mingling with the lively chatter of adventurers sing tales of their test exploits. He ighe noise. He had a mission to plete.

Striding toward the receptionist's ter, he pced a pleted quest form down with a firm hand. "The goblins are dealt with."

The receptionist, a sharp-eyed woman in her middle years, arched an eyebrow as she took the paper. "Alone?" Her gaze flickered around the guild hall. "Your siblings didn't return with you?"

"They stayed behind to assist with the rger extermination," Audi replied, his voice steady. "I pleted my part."

She gave a small nod of approval and stamped the quest with an official seal. "Well then, gratutions. You've qualified for Tower access."

Audi's fingers curled slightly. "Tell me about the Tower."

The receptionist's expression grew serious. "The Tower is the foundation of our world's adva. It stretches far beyond what we prehend, and each floor presents trials meant to test an adventurer's strength. The deeper you go, the greater the rewards—but also the greater the dangers."

She gestured to a massive board behind her, covered in pinned maps and records of past expeditions. "Every city has a Tate, but climbing is strictly reguted. The first few floors are finners, but beyond Gate 5, everything ges. Only those who prove themselves irials may tinue."

Audi absorbed the information, his mind already rag. "What happens beyond Gate 5?"

She leaned forward slightly, l her voice. "Beyond Gate 5 lies the City of Graves—a pce where only the worthy may step. There, adventurers must plete another set of trials before being allowed to asd. This pattern tinues every five gates. A new city. A est. The Adventurer's Guild has only ever reached Gate 50. No one knows what lies beyond."

Her gaze shifted toward the ceiling as if seeing something far beyond the wooden beams. "But we do know this—every floor is its own ecosystem, ected in a way that forms aire world withiower. And the Tower itself…" She hesitated for a moment before tinuing. "It wasn't always a tower. Before it took this form, it was known as the Greatest Tree, a colossal being that oretched into the heavens. Its roots still anchor it to the earth, and its branches hold the mysteries that call adventurers ever upward."

Audi let the words settle before exhaling through his nose. "So... what about the job?"

The receptionist leaned back slightly, folding her arms. "If you're looking for simple work, there are jobs like fisher, farmer, and borer. Those don't require quests. But for adventurers like you, things work differently."

She g the records before tinuing. "Your siblings are already ahead. One has advao Priest, the other to Knight—both sed-tier jobs. They've made it past Gate 20."

Her gaze sharpened as she met his eyes. "But you... you're still at the starting line. If you want to be an adventurer, you o pass Gate 5 first. Once you do, you'll unlock the quest Adventure First Job. That quest is only avaible iy of Graves, and pleting it will allow you to choose your first job."

She slid a part toward him, listing the avaible jobs. "Your options will be swordsman, thief, archer, acolyte, mage, mert, gunner, hter. Choose wisely—your path iower depends on it."

She tapped the desk. "Your siblings are moving fast. If you want to catch up, you'd better get started."

Audi absorbed the information, but oail lingered in his mind. "The City of Graves… Why is it called that?"

The receptionist's expression darkened slightly. "Because it reminds us of the past. The first great zombie extermination happehere—ahat nearly wiped out everything. That battle turhe city into a graveyard, and though we recimed it, the name remains… as a reminder of what was lost."
