Chapter 9
.??????|?.?
“You are gonna have to get some sleep soon cuore mio,” Aeon mumbled as he stared down Sam from the door across the kitchen, a tired look in his eye present before he practically rubbed it off as he approached Sam, his face now bright.
“I know” Sam drew, sighing loudly as she stared blankly at the computer that sat in front of her before turning towards the tired boyfriend who stood unsteadily before her.
“Come to bed then my love”
“I will” Sam dragged on, getting off the island chair and loosely wrapping her arms around her taller lover’s neck. “I have a lot of work tonight, and I just got off a call with Jace.”
“And?” Questioned Aeon, playfully toying with Sams's brown hair that brushed against his face.
“We really have to speed up canceling all the venues, and get new dates up,” Sam remarked, looking up at Aeon's bright brown eyes that complimented his dark skin.
“You're doing amazing, but you can’t work all night like this” he insisted, pressing a kiss to her forehead before spinning them both away from the table, groaning when Sam unwrapped her hands and marched towards the table spread with files and coffee.
“Mi corazón please” Aeon moaned, stumbling closer to the table as he hovered over the papers full of agonizingly neat notes, “You can’t reschedule everything in one night.”
“Don’t know what you don’t try,” Sam replied with a grin, dropping it when she received a glare from her lover, before rolling her eyes.
Sam knew exactly how to get her way when it came to people, she knew how to use pressure points and flattery to get through to people, but it was no small feat that she was able to climb this far into her success, especially in regard to her most recent occupation, the talent manager of Zac Hale, who grew into success almost just as fast as Sam did. She knew her way around accomplished people like herself, but somehow, she could never get her way with her stubborn boyfriend, especially if he was tired.
“Get up” Aeon groaned, dramatically raising his arms over his head before resting his head on her shoulder. “I have work babe,” Sam replied smoothly, pressing down on Aeons’ curls.
“Don’t you have work?”
“My work has work hours,” Aeon exclaimed. “You should sue your company for making you work like this” he snapped
Sam hummed, “I am the company” before turning her head towards Aeon's deadpan face.
“You stay up late too”
“I stay up late when I know you're wrapped up in blankets down the hall” Aeon muttered.

“I’m sorry. It's easier to work when Zac and Jace are in the city. And now I have calls every two minutes” Sam rubbed her eyes tiredly. Aeon glanced at the busy schedule chart that hung on a wall to their right.
“You know I think we- that you should have a break,” he remarked, staring at Sam’s deep brown hair, trying to beat the urge to grab his lover and strut her towards their room.
“Mhm and do what?”
Aeon pondered for a minute, looking down at the floor, finally meeting her eyes as he held her hands in his.
“We should go to France”
Sam blinked, tightening her fingers around Aeon’s as she stared back at his face before breaking into laughter at his awkward smile, ceasing her giggle as she noticed his unchanging feature.
“Seriously?”
Sam stood promptly, almost knocking Aeon over, smiling with a confused expression that mirrored his.
“If-if I can work online for a bit and I finish up some cases here I can make it work for us” Aeon stated, a large smile stretching across his face.
Sam thought, ignoring the radiance of Aeon's smile as she picked the plan apart, pursing her lips tightly finally settling on a question
“You do know I’m gonna be working more if we go there right?”
Aeon smiled wider than Sam thought was possible and delivered a smooth answer.
“Yes, but you would be working in France, so that makes everything better”
Sam rolled her eyes, turning them back towards the disheveled papers on the table behind her.
“I don’t know”
“We were planning on going anyway Amor, what's the problem with going earlier?”
She sighed looking back at Aeon's weak pleading smile. She was very used to traveling, often joining in on each city behind Zac’s vigorous tours, which came with the job as his manager of 5 years. She was not, however, used to traveling with company, especially when it was her highly energetic and distracting boyfriend.
“It sounds amazing but I think you’re too tired to talk about this right now” Sam muttered, holding back a snort when Aeon’s smile was replaced with a deep scowl.
Aeon turned away from her, pursing his lips as he faced a large square clock he hated. Aeon continued to mutter under his breath, ignoring the deep gaze Sam threw at his toned back that showed through his shirt, a cool shadow falling on it from the lamp behind him. Aeon was surprisingly strong for a legal translator, but of course, Sam didn’t mind, nor did she mind the multiple nicknames he would switch to in numerous languages, which kept her guessing if he was endearing or insulting. She didn’t mind a lot of things when it came to Aeon. He tried not to smile out of amusement when he faced her once again, trying to hold contact with her tired eyes as they trailed his frame.
“We can very well talk about this tomorrow, that is, if you are awake enough to conversate” Aeon dictated curtly, popping the vowels as he spoke, a sly smile spreading across his lips as he grasped Sam’s hands, smoothly leading her away from her table in her daze, ignoring the “I hate you” she murmured before slumping her head against his shoulder. Aeon turned off the lights as he walked them towards a large bedroom, carefully draping his arms around her waist before hoisting her up upon their large bed and rolling in with her. Sam seemed to sigh into sleep, breathing peacefully as Aeon bundled blankets around her, making sure she was comfortable before laying down beside her, pressing a deep kiss to her temple.
“I love you too tesoro.”
