Bryan opened his mouth to say : "There's three branches of improvement for the Zombies and the most common one is by improving their mobility first which takes a bit of time but, the rare ones who advance quicker on that path mostly end up gaining the ability to move at startling speeds at the cost of a permanent loss to almost all of their major senses except for the sense of touch.
"The ones who advance all the way on that path of evolution are actually the hardest to kill, but that takes decades of time or the Zombie itself having the luck of surviving a Nuclear explosion and experiencing the baptism of radiation which follows the incident, that would be the least of our worries because even if we happen to meet one of those they'd be on the earlier stages of evolution so... We could just lure them into traps since they follow vibrations unlike the normal Zombies who're normally attracted towards sounds.
"These Zombies are rare but there's a characteristic which gives a hint to which path they follow after unlocking their ability to gain improved mobility, one is pure speed and these ones would have extremely thin bodies with tentacle-like appendages all over their bodies which they extend a few meters around them while moving to avoid crashing into anything in their way so it's obvious that they use these tentacles to map their surroundings while tracking the vibrations their prey make while moving within their sensory range.
"The other type of Zombie who follow that path is much bigger in size and would sacrifice a bit of speed in exchange for power so their most obvious characteristic is their grotesque physiques which would sometimes gain extremely thick yers of muscles or fat but the ones who advance in that path of evolution would be able to grow arms and feet whenever the need arises or increase the length of the body parts they create as well as the height and dimensions of their body itself however... It all comes at the cost of whatever energy these Zombies use to keep themselves going so... Unless there's a healthy dose of brains for them to consume ter after they do all these sorts of stunts or an area full of radiation for them to soak themselves... They'd become helpless and shrink into mummies and become easy pickings for beasts, bugs, or any passing humans.
"The ones who follow the common path of improving mobility first then unlocking their ability to hear, follow a path which splits into two branches, one is unlocking then improving their sense of sight while the other is unlocking then improving their sense of hearing... These are going to be the majority of Zombies we're going to encounter in any environment which didn't experience Nuclear explosions like the capital city of this state or the towns and vilges surrounding it.
"The third branch is the rarest to find because it doesn't improve hearing after mobility but improve the sense of sight or smell instead, these ones would be the trackers among the Zombies and the ones causing the most damage to all the survivors but... You still need to focus on attracting the attention of the majority of Zombies through loud noise while broadcasting the most important information to the survivors who need to wait until you sweep and clean the areas first before coming out from their hiding spots." He expined to General Arlo who listened without interrupting.
Arlo looked behind him at his colonels who nodded to indicate that they've documented all this critically important information then back towards Bryan and opened his mouth to ask : "What about the Zombies who experienced the Nuclear explosion and survived then got baptized by the radiation?"
"All of the three paths of evolution I've mentioned earlier are considered nothing dangerous compared to Zombies who come from that hazardous zone, simply because... They're cking in intelligence while the Zombies who experience radiation mostly end up with developed brains which could differentiate between danger and food so they're no longer shackled to their instinctive desire to feed on the living." Bryan said before looking at the faces in the conference room which were frightened out of their wits then added : "They gain the ability to lead and command the normal Zombies, some of them gain the ability to breed with the beasts they domesticate and whatever they create is loyal to them... Some female Zombies gain the ability to procreate and once they join with the ones who mate with beasts they create more Zombies and form nests which could grow in numbers almost indefinitely as long as there's enough to feed the abominations they create together." After saying that he continued : "The ones with enough intelligence would even learn to use the beasts which they domesticate to feed their offspring!"
Tiana and Jack were out of breath and pale in the face like the rest who just heard that Zombies could actually procreate so it's no longer a battle of attrition but a race against time to end the threat before it grow to something beyond their ability and reach the stage where they're no longer able to contain.
Now they finally understand why Bryan kept insisting that she buy weapons and arms while giving the top-rank generals of the army control of the deposits which their Madam President left stored in different parts of the Narren Country, now it's going to be much easier for the army to tackle the issue of purging the Zombies from the territories neighboring these generals thanks to the chokepoints isoting the states.
Not to mention that it's going to be hard for any of these generals to use the weapons to attack neighboring territories since it's much easier to defend against those who seek to betray humanity and fish in murky waters!
"Bryan." Tiana held Bryan's arm as if she's a drowning person grasping straws and looked him in the eye while giving a pleading gaze she said : "Help General Wilder clean the city and the surrounding areas as soon as possible and I'll make sure the whole world get to learn about the danger of these Zombies and how to deal with them quickly."
Bryan shook his head, "Telling them or not wouldn't make a difference now," He pointed at the screen which is dispying the aftermath of the Nuclear explosion, "Zombies surrounding that area would start to gather at that spot soon and the snowballing effect would keep gaining momentum, so we better hurry and clean our Country first before helping those surrounding us to do the same, that way we'd have a buffer-zone and gain enough time to grow strong enough to fight back against the tide of Zombies and Beasts which would come crashing like never-ending waves." After saying that he continued : "I'll help in cleaning this state but I'm not going to help with the rest of the states in our Narren Country, because I won't bother extending the hand of help to those who can't prove their worth in being able to help themselves first against this ughable threat... They'd become a burden to me when the real fight start and become just a useless distraction."
Jack, Arlo and the rest of the military people in the conference room were gring at Bryan in the beginning with gazes full of disappointment but towards the end they fell silent because what he just said does indeed make a lot of sense!
"I'll have the shipments of nutritious food delivered whenever one of my people come train the troops, whenever you're ready to make your move towards the city just give me the signal and I'll follow the group... Survivors are welcome to do whatever with their lives and travel freely in the safe zones but my territory is under strict ban for all visitors while whoever goes outside the walls is still going to be subjected to the same extreme quarantine and only freed to enter the walls once all steps are passed." Bryan said before adding : "I'm never going to relent on this rule and under no excuse... All of us would be subjected to them... Me included." Then he continued : "Only my own followers are allowed to man the gates and do the inspections so whenever you find one member of the army put to isotion then understand that we're not restricting anyone but those who don't follow the rules of this community are going to be warned once then kicked permanently if their actions are repeated for a second time since it's endangering the lives of helpless civilians."
General Morgan had nothing to say to that and Tiana was also in agreement that strict rules at the gates are probably the only thing that's going to help the people of this community survive this crisis for as long as possible.
They all watched Bryan say his goodbye to Madam President then kiss his wife Anna who's the personal guard and private pilot of Tiana whenever she wants to go anywhere in this community Anna take her there but sometimes the two of them would disappear and nobody could find where these two women go after they vanish from the armory.
Rumors spread about that man's group of women who would also vanish from a pce then appear in another in a short span of time which is also quite impossible to believe or expin but it happens a lot and there's many stories fitting the same example from different pces inside the community!
