The Little Fox Who Only Trusts Li Nuxiu

Little Fox instinctively glanced at Li Nuxiu, wondering why his expression had suddenly changed.

Before she could react, Little Fox extended her little paw, pointing at Li Nuxiu, her eyes filling with tears again. Her graceful, flowing movements clearly showed that she was accusing Li Nuxiu, "You bad man, why are you scolding me again!"

Li Nuxiu gently pressed down on Little Fox’s paw. "Ying Yi, Ying San, both of you leave. I have something to discuss with Little Fox."

"Yes, Master." Ying Yi responded, stepping toward the door. He paused after a few steps, then turned around to grab Ying San, yanking him by his collar and unceremoniously dragging him out.

"Hey, hey, Ying Yi! Ying Yi! Can’t we just talk about this?" Ying San struggled.

"Stop talking. Didn’t you hear the Master’s order?" Ying Yi remained emotionless.

Ying San really wanted to ask his Master what kind of conversation could possibly be had with a little fox.

  The room fell silent.

Li Nuxiu gently lifted Little Fox and placed her on the table. He pulled out the purple bead from his pocket and held it in his hand, staring intently at her. "Little Fox, what is this?"

Little Fox blinked, looking at the purple bead. It looked... so familiar.

Li Nuxiu placed the bead on the table. Little Fox extended her paw and began playing with the bead silently, moving it from one paw to the other, repeatedly pushing it back and forth.

Li Nuxiu watched as Little Fox silently played, and after the seventh or eighth back-and-forth, he reached out and pressed the purple bead down.

Little Fox’s paw froze as she looked at Li Nuxiu.

  "Chirp?" What’s going on?

"Little Fox, when I met you on Wuqie Mountain, I knew you were different. You not only have spiritual intelligence and can understand my words, but I also suspect that you can cultivate."

"Chirp." Little Fox nodded. She was indeed a special kind of fox, different from the others, and yes, she could cultivate. Was that so strange?

Seeing Little Fox nod without any hesitation, Li Nuxiu rubbed his forehead in frustration and lightly tapped her forehead, almost making her tilt backward.

Li Nuxiu said seriously, "You silly fox, would you respond this quickly to others?"

"Chirp chirp." Little Fox shook her head rapidly, looking like she was spinning her head like a rattle. She pointed to herself with one paw, then to Li Nuxiu with the other, and then made a hugging gesture.

Li Nuxiu was momentarily stunned. Little Fox was saying that she trusted him enough to tell him the truth because it was him, right?

"You mean..." Li Nuxiu spoke, his voice suddenly hoarse, "Because it’s me, you did this? You trust me?"

Little Fox immediately nodded, eager to make sure Li Nuxiu understood. She nodded so vigorously that her head started spinning. "Chirp chirp, chirp chirp."

"Little Fox..." Li Nuxiu embraced her tightly.

"Chirp~" Little Fox let out a long chirp as she snuggled closer to him, rubbing her head against his chest. She was happy that she could express her joy this way.

She now had two tails! How amazing! In just a short time, Li Nuxiu had truly been her lucky star.

Li Nuxiu held Little Fox, understanding why she was so happy. "So happy, do you want some pastries?"

"Chirp chirp." Little Fox nodded. Li Nuxiu was so good to her, and she liked him more and more.

Just as the two of them were enjoying their happiness, there was a sound from outside the door.

"Master, the four dark guards have arrived."
