Eryndor and Aria walked back to the mansion, the night air filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Eryndor felt a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that he had taken the first step on the path to unlocking the secrets of the ancient magic.
As they approached the mansion, Eryndor noticed a figure lurking in the shadows. The figure was tall and gaunt, with eyes that seemed to glow in the dark.
"Who's there?" Aria demanded, her voice firm and commanding.
The figure stepped forward, its eyes fixed on Eryndor. "My name is Malakai," it said, its voice low and menacing. "And I have come for the boy."
Eryndor felt a surge of fear run through him. Who was this Malakai, and what did he want with him?
Aria stepped forward, her eyes flashing with anger. "You'll never take him," she said, her voice firm. "He's under my protection."

Malakai sneered, his eyes glinting with malevolence. "We'll see about that," he said, raising his hand.
A bolt of dark energy shot towards Eryndor, but Aria was quick to react. She raised her own hand, and a shield of light energy deflected the attack.
Eryndor watched in awe as Aria and Malakai clashed, their magic swirling around each other in a spectacular display of light and sound.
But as the battle raged on, Eryndor began to feel a strange sensation. It was as if his own magic was stirring, responding to the conflict.
Without thinking, Eryndor raised his own hand, and a blast of energy shot out, striking Malakai with incredible force.
Malakai stumbled back, his eyes widening in surprise. "You're more powerful than I thought," he said, his voice filled with a mixture of anger and admiration.
Aria turned to Eryndor, a look of pride and approval on her face. "Well done, Eryndor," she said. "You're a natural."
But as Eryndor smiled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment, he couldn't shake the feeling that Malakai was far from defeated. In fact, he had a feeling that their battle was only just beginning.
