Chapter 3: The Bathhouse Incident

  Haru Kazuma never learned.

Despite years of unfortunate accidents, flying slippers, and bruised ribs, he somehow

always found himself in the worst possible situations.

  And tonight was no different.

The Shirayuki Hot Springs was famous for its relaxing baths, traditional architecture, and,

most importantly… its strictly separated male and female sections.

Yet somehow, thanks to a series of tragic, unavoidable, completely not-his-fault

circumstances, Haru found himself in the women’s bath.

  Staring.

  Frozen.

  Surrounded.

Towels dropped. Eyes widened. And then—“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”

Mizuki Ayane, mid-soak, turned her head in time to see Haru standing there—soaked, frozen in

place, and on the verge of a legendary nosebleed.

Her mind short-circuited. What is he doing here?!

Before she could react, another scream erupted—Kaori-chan, the very girl Haru had confessed

to (via Mizuki’s betrayed hands), shrieked as she grabbed the nearest shampoo bottle and

  hurled it at his head.

  WHACK!

“W-Wait! I can explain—” Haru began, just as a tsunami of bath buckets came flying in his

  direction.

  “PERVERTTTTTT!!!”

  Meanwhile, outside the bathhouse…

Ryo Takeda, Haru’s eternally exhausted best friend, sighed as he leaned against the fence,

  sipping a canned soda.

  “I give him… ten seconds.”

  A moment later—

  BANG! CRASH! SPLASH!

Haru came flying out of the women’s section, landing face-first into the ground, now bearing

  several shampoo-related injuries.

  Ryo didn’t even blink.

  “…I overestimated.”

Mizuki, still wrapped in a towel, stormed out after him, her face burning with embarrassment and

something else she refused to acknowledge.

“HARU KAZUMA, YOU ARE SO DEAD!!!”

As Haru lay twitching on the floor, Ryo casually sighed and shook his head.

  “Another day, another disaster.”
