“Get out of the way, you scum!”
Wade shoved a dark-haired young man to the side as he strode forward. He felt humiliated by the fact that he had to compete for the position of a reserve knight with these untouchables.
However, under the instigation of his siblings, his father personally ordered him to participate in this guards’ test.
"A descendant of the noble Bloodhound family isn't worthy of being called a noble if he can't even distinguish himself from a few commoners. If you can’t get first place, then you’re not worthy of stepping foot in this castle ever again."
That was what his half-brother, Jesse Bloodhound, said to him in his father’s study.
Thinking of his that bastard’s disdainful expression and the fact that he has to compete with these commoners for the position of reserve knight just to get the knight breathing technique that should have been rightfully his, his heart was filled with fires of rage and humiliation.
‘I’ll make you pay a hundredfold, Jesse!!’
Wade strode with rage, pushing aside any guy who stood in his way.
“You bastard, what’s your deal?!”
The young blond man that was just pushed aside glared angrily at Wade, but the latter looked back with a cannibalizing gaze, scaring him slightly.
“Shh!! Don’t argue with him; didn’t you notice his hair’s colour? He’s a descendant of the Lord!”
Another guy pulled the angry young man away and whispered to him.
“What? I’m sorry! My lord!”
The young man looked terrified. He quickly bowed his head and apologized with a fearful expression.
The nobles’ tyranny is deeply ingrained in the hearts of the commoners, especially in the territory of Viscount Bloodhound.
If he weren’t in the midst of physical training, he might even have knelt.
“Hmph!”
Wade snorted as he moved his head back, striding forward and shoving anyone standing in his path to the side. Some even tripped and fell to the ground, getting trampled by other teenagers.
They groaned in pain as they stood up again, furiously glaring at the rampaging Wade before rejoining the team again and continuing to run.
“If he’s the Lord’s descendant, then why is he participating in this guard’s test with us?”
The young blond man whispered to the guy who had just pulled him.
“I don’t know, maybe it’s because of a conflict between the Lord’s descendants? Or this might just be the way the lord trains his descendants.”
The young man shook his head and said,
“I know about that guy. I heard about him from my cousin. He’s the illegitimate son of the Lord. It’s said that he came to the castle a year ago. However, he’s not well-liked by the viscountess and the other young lords. Even the Lord is indifferent to him. He was bullied a lot by the other young lords.”
A third young man joined the conversation and said,
“Haha, so he’s just an illegitimate child. He can only show his might in front of common people like us.”
The blond young man mockingly said.
“Shh! He’s still a noble! We’ll be in trouble if he hears us.”
Wade didn’t know about the young men talking about him behind his back. He continuously strode forward, intending to occupy the top spot in the team. No commoner can walk in front of him.
He stretched his hand to shove aside a brown-haired young man, but the latter dodged and looked at him with a cold expression before continuing to run forward.
“You… untouchable!”
Wade’s expression contorted at this sight. Just as he clenched his fists and intended to show this guy the price of going against him, his sight came across Travis’s face.
Looking at Travis’s grim expression, Wade gritted his teeth before putting down his fists. He can’t offend Travis now, and if he makes a scene, the news will surely reach his father, and he’ll get scolded.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Wade looked viciously at the brown-haired young man, remembering his face, vowing to make him pay!

As time passed, the difference in physical abilities between the teenagers gradually became apparent. A few dozen remained firmly at the top, gradually leaving the others behind. The few best surpassed the worst by several laps and were barely sweating.
Then, there is the middle layer, where the majority of the trainees are. The difference between them wasn’t bigger than a lap. Most of them have rather even breaths, only sweating a bit.
Finally, the last hundred or so teenagers staggered over the last layer, panting and sweating profusely. Most of them had weak physical strength or were malnourished.
Ren maintained his position at the upper-middle level, firmly in the top 100. Ron and Jerry surpassed him, as he told them. Jerry has even squeezed into the top thirty.
At the top of the pack, surpassing everyone else, were Wade and Levi. They firmly held first and second place, surpassing everyone else by a wide margin and competing for first place.
As the laps gradually came to an end, Levi quickly overtook Wade and ranked first.
“Ha… Ha… You… Scum…”
Wade panted while looking at Levi with bloodshot eyes. The fact that he was surpassed by a commoner was unacceptable to him. He could already imagine Jesse ridiculing him.
“Trash will always be trash, you can’t even defeat a commoner.”
Wade could already imagine Jesse’s disgusting sneer while saying this.
“You untouchable! How dare you surpass me?!”
Wade strode towards Levi with clenched fists, planning to teach this commoner the fate of disrespecting nobles.
Levi looked back with a stubborn expression, trying to hide his nervousness. He had firmly suppressed this guy in the heat of the moment, but now, he was starting to regret it.
He heard the other trainees talking about this guy. he’s a noble, and nobles hold life-and-death power over the common people. Even if he’s beaten to the point of disability, if a commoner dares to fight back or even talk back to a noble, no one will save him.
Fortunately for him, this is an unusual scenario, and Wade isn’t the ‘typical’ noble. Not in terms of demeanor, but in terms of status.
“Good job, young master Wade, and this young man for completing the ten laps before anyone else.”
To Wade’s dismay, Travis clapped as he walked towards them, standing between Levi and him.
Travis is going to interfere.
Looking at Wade with a seemingly polite smile but hardly hiding his contempt, Travis said,
“Young Master Wade, per the rules of the guards’ test, examinees aren’t allowed to fight without permission. This is the rule set by the Lord himself.”
“What? But I’m a noble!”
Wade said with wide eyes; he couldn’t believe that the rules set to herd the untouchables apply to him as well.
“This is the Lord’s intention. The Lord ordered you to participate in the guards’ test to temper your abilities, so the rules apply to you, too.”
The teenagers completed the ten laps one after the other, stopping not far away, and straightening their ears to listen closely to the conversation between Wade and the general instructor, Travis.
‘Just as I expected, the other sons of the Viscount should have told Travis to make things as hard as possible for Wade.’
Ren also finished the ten laps and stood not far away, listening to the argument.
Strictly speaking, while the guards’ test has rules, nobles aren’t required to follow them. However, a noble participating in the guards’ test is also unprecedented.
Generally, nobles’ descendants have been instructed by true knights since childhood and supplemented by a strict diet ranging from monsters’ flesh to various rare and precious herbs.
The trainee knight stage is just a smooth path for them. Which is the exact opposite matter for commoners and wild knights. The trainee knight stage is a stage in which knights polish their physical abilities, supplemented by many precious supplements.
Without those precious supplements, one can only slowly polish their bodies over time.
The peak of the trainee knight's stage is to have a physical ability ten times greater than that of an average trained soldier, after which a knight has to condense battle energy and become a true knight.
Wade is obviously unlike a typical noble; he was only brought back to the castle a year ago, so he wasn’t trained since childhood like his siblings.
The sudden change from a commoner to a noble, the sudden great power over the lives and deaths of his previous fellows, and the disdain and disgust from his siblings and stepmother have greatly distorted his character.
He holds great disdain and a superiority complex over commoners, but has an inferiority complex when facing his siblings and other nobles. He is eager to prove himself to his father but faces a great disadvantage in front of his siblings and other nobles’ descendants.
He isn’t exceptionally talented or very smart. His position in the Viscount's castle is very awkward.
‘However, such a character is just right for the position of a villain, and he’s especially easy to predict and manipulate.’
Ren thought as he watched Wade relentlessly argue with Travis.
‘Levi’s great physical strength should have caught the attention of the instructor.’
Ren shifted his gaze to Levi. This is a hidden gem he discovered by accident a month ago. Despite being the son of a farmer, he has exceptional physical strength and a persevering personality, making him the perfect ‘protagonist’.
Even facing Wade, who has been vigorously trained and fed monster meat and precious herbs for over a year, he has the advantage. His talent will soon catch the attention of Viscount and Wade’s siblings.
‘Isn’t it just great? The actors have gathered, and the play has begun. Soon, I’ll get the method to become a wizard and embark on the path of transcendence.’
A grin crept on Ren’s face, he couldn't wait.
