Getting home, even the residual pain from overtaxing his nearly nonexistent muscles, didn't manage to dim his enthusiasm.
"Izu! My baby boy! My little hero! Are you okay? are you hurt?-" Meeting his mother at the door and ignoring her fussing over his still sludge covered form, Izuku couldn't help but inform her of one of the greatest things that has ever happened to him.
"Mom! Mom! Mom! I met All Might!" Inko's fussing stopped as she heard the name of the number one hero.
"All Might? Here? Oh, I'm so happy for you my darling boy!" she smiled as she imagined what it would've been like to see him meat his childhood (and current) hero.
"And he called me a Hero, mom! All Might said I was a real Hero!" after hearing that Inko couldn't help it, she wept. And Izuku could never hold back his tears whenever his mother cried.
Thus standing there, in their doorway, the two greenets drowned their neighbors in the trademark Midoriya tears.
After they calmed down, the family had dinner together and later went their separate ways.
Izuku, finally alone in his room, could refocus on the presence that has been with him through it all.
'Tenno, sir. When am I starting training? I only have ten moths left before UA exams.'
'Heh, don't worry kid, you don't have to wait long. Training starts right now.'
'Now? But I have school tomorrow-' 'And? Do you think training will pause just because you have to go to school? Quite the opposite, even at school your training will continue during classes!'
'But wouldn't that impact my grades?'
'Of course it will, only positively. No one needs a dumb hero. Now enough chit chat, I'm going to show you how to throw a real punch!'
And like that, Izuku's training journey began, with a day of drills on how to throw the perfect jab, the training went till Izuku's arms burned and then it kept going until he nearly fell asleep standing up.
"S-sir, I… I can't move my a-arms" Izuku barely slurred, forgetting to even think the words at his torturertrainer.
'Perfect, now onto the legs-'
'Please sir! I can't go on anymore! I'll die!'
'Fine, you also need to rest so we should move on to that'
'Finally!'
'Don't celebrate yet. Rest doesn't mean the grind stops, you'll be meditating the whole night, or as long as you can last without falling asleep. Later on that meditation will fully replace your sleep.'
'F-fully replace?! But sir! I NEED sleep!'
'NeEd SlEeP, what a bunch of malarkey! Sleep is for the weak! Mediation will boost your recovery process as well as help you digest and analyze any and all information you have learnt throughout the day. It'll help you further master the techniques I teach you.'
'I –I don't think that's how mediation works sir…'
'Says who? 9 out of 10 doctors? The sheeple don't know that the big pharma is trying to keep you weak and docile! Cough I mean… many Dao masters will agree that meditation is the foundation that all martial arts are built upon.'
'R-right, how do I start?'
'Firstly, sit on the bed-' after Izuku did so, he continued 'now close your eyes and take a deep breath through your nose, hold it for 4 seconds, then release it through your mouth. Keep doing that while you picture your body, the sore muscles, the damaged tissues, strained ligaments, overworked heart and overtaxed nerves.'
'Okay? I don't know how this will help me get better rest and recover faster.'
'That's because you haven't begun yet. Imagine, with every breath you take, your lungs enrich the blood in your body with oxygen. With every heart beat, the blood travels through out your whole body, depositing the oxygen and fixing any and all damaged tissues. You following?'
'Mostly sir. I'm imagining it, but how would a bit of oxygen help the recovery process?'
'Think of it like a massage, spectral hands kneading your tense muscles, working the ligaments back to relaxation, soothing the heart.'
'I see, I'm starting to understand.'
'Good and if you still have trouble imagining it, just simplify it further.'
'Simplify it? How?'
'Indeed, in simple terms meditation is a way to ingest the good shit and excrete the bad shit.'
'Uhm… I think I'd rather use the first example.'
'Suit yourself. Now keep it up until you fall a sleep. And then keep doing this, slowly holding off sleep longer and longer, until you can fully replace sleep with meditation.'
'Right! I will not let you down!' five minutes later Izuku was peacefully snoring away into wonderland.
Next day Izuku awoke feeling well rested, with none of the pain he would expect from such an active day. From his experience of running away from his bullies, the next day he always feels like his legs had turned into lead and his lungs were filled with glass shards. Yet none of that happened.
It was so surreal that for a dark depressing moment he thought it was all a cruel dream. 'It was no dream.' Until the voice of his trainer? Teacher? Sensei? Knocked him out of his depressing thoughts 'enough of that, you can call me whatever you want, but first you are going to be late to school. Get going.'
Right, he still had to go to school! And that reminded him that he had, unintentionally, punched Kacchan in the face 'teeth.', Kacchan was going to kill him!
'You are still going to be late if you don't hurry up, get going already!' Tenno's voice echoed in his head as he rushed through his morning routine, not even bothering to check the time as he rushed out of the house.
'Cut through the park, you don't have much time.' Izuku didn't even question it, doing as he was told.
While cutting through the footpaths in the park, Tenno spoke 'Good, this place looks perfect, now drop and give me 100 sit-ups.'
'W-what? But I'll be late to school!'
'You've got plenty of time kid. Now get to it! You still need to do 100 pushups, sit-ups and squats, and then run all the way to school.'
'H-H-HUNDRED?!'
'Yes hundred, now enough dilly dallying, and GET TO IT!'
'Sir, yes sir!'
Dropping everything Izuku begun doing the exercise pushing himself to the limit, even as his arms burned he kept going, every time he stopped Tenno would yell at him to keep pushing it, until near the end when only a few dozen were left, the pain was becoming too much

'I can't! I-I can't keep going! It hurts too much!'
'C'mon you can do it, believe in yourself! Ignore the pain and push through! Go back to meditating while keeping the rhythm.'
'How do I meditate while my body is burning so much?'
'Just breathe kid, its not difficult. I'll even take a bit of the load off of you and count the reps so you can fully focus on your breathing.'
Izuku pushed through, his mind focused on his breathing. It took a while but it was well worth it, with the pain being forgotten entirely.
'Good, now let's finish it up with the run to school because you are going to be late'
'Late? Wasn't I already late! I probably missed homeroom already!'
'No kid, I lied about you being late before, but I'm not lying now, quickly get there before the bell rings!'
'Oh god! That's when the halls are the most full! I would not make it in time if I have to go through all the other students and their harassment!'
'Don't worry about it, I'll help you deal with that when we get there, now run and don't forget to keep meditating!'
Following the advice, Izuku ran. His lungs burned, yet none of it registered in his mind.
By the time he made it to school he was covered in sweat, his continued meditation keeping him from keeling over and dying right then and there.
Yet even after all that torture, Izuku still hesitated in going through the schools gates. standing there he couldn't help but imagine what type of hell he was about to experience while going through the crowded hall.
His biggest obstacle wasn't living through the hellish exercise he was put through but walking through his school's gate.
'Tenno s-sir, I can't move'
'Even after running headfirst into a villain?'
'Y-yes sir. I- I'm scared.'
'I see.'
The two spent a few moments in the silence, one frozen in fear, the other contemplating his role as a mentor.
'Kid, do you want to skip school? Because I have no problems with that. If the environment in there is enough to get you like this, it's not worth the wasted time and effort. We can-'
'No, I can't. I've never skipped classes before and I don't plan to now. Can- can we just stay out here for a bit longer?'
'Sure Kid, we can stay here however long you want… but I don't think you want to do that, do you?'
'I- I don't?'
'No, you don't. I'm in your head, remember?'
'Ah r-right, but-'
'Don't you want to become the greatest hero ever?'
'Yes sir, a-and you are right, I need to be fearless.'
'No.'
'N-no? What?'
'Being fearless is stupidity, what you need to do is feel fear-'
'I- what? I don't get it sir.'
'One day you will, but you just need to take the first step. Which is acknowledging the fear. And step by step you will grow around and with the fear, not by fearing the fear but by using it, by learning from it.'
'I see…'
'Now will you take the first step?'
"Yes sir."
'Don't worry kid, I'm here with you, and don't forget you can use this opportunity to train your stealth.'
The shift in topic brought Izuku out of his funk.
'Training? Oh you did talk about training in school, how is it going to happen?'
'It's really simple, firstly we will be training your stealth, and then when the lessons start we will be training your mind.'
'Okay, but how are we going to do that?'
'Simple, by walking into a crowded hallway in plain sight of everyone who wants a piece of you'
'Umm sir I don't think that is a good idea.'
' No it's not, it's a great idea! Now get going, if my timing is right you have around 3 minutes before the bell rings'
'Th-three minutes!'
'Yup get going already, make sure to keep your head high and your back straight! You've got places to be, are you going to let some nobodies be obstacles between yourself and your education?!'
'N-no sir!'
'More confidence!'
'NO SIR!'
'Good, remember to keep that confidence and to stand straight! No matter what obstacle, remember that you are a river flowing around rocks, a leaf floating in the wind.'
Following the advice, with his head held high, Izuku walked through the gates and continued on his path to his homeroom class, no one even payed him any mind, they were too busy thinking of their own school problems and the very few that would actually bother going out of their way to bully Izuku, normally, now couldn't spot the meek little greenet that they always bullied, even if Izuku walked in their line of sight, their feeble minds couldn't associate a confident person such as him with the Deku that they know, allowing Izuku to walk by them undisturbed.
He was a daisy growing out of the cracks in the walls, a blade of grass bathing in the sunlight. None payed him any attention, as if he was part of the scenery.
Opening the door with barely less than a minute remaining, Tenno yelled in Izuku's mind -
'Left jab!'
After the grueling work Izuku went though yesterday night and then the mind-numbing exercise he went though today, moments prior, his meditative mind barely registered the command as his left fist shot out in a near perfect straight without his prompting.
His fist impacted something before he even registered what was happening and then that something dropped on the ground.
Finally regaining awareness, Izuku noticed the something that he had punched was Katsuki Bakugo that was now sprawled on the ground in front of him, his nose leaking droplets of blood.
'Oh... oh! Oh god what did I do!'
'Never mind that kid, I'm more impressed with how the little shit managed to spot you.'
'Kacchan has always had good eyes and attention to detail, but that's not important! I just punched Kacchan! Again! I'M DOUBLE DEAD!' Izuku couldn't believe it, just as his luck was beginning to get good, he had ended his hero career before it had even begun.
"Okay class get to your seats its time for rollcall." Thankfully, the teacher interrupted his dilemma.
Katsuki began to rouse just as the teacher came into the room, no one even reacted to what had happened moments prior.
'What's happening? I'd thought that I'd have to teach you how to get your self out of trouble by putting the blame on someone else, but no one even reacted, what's going on?'
'That might be because they are already used to this type of thing, most of them were either minding their own business or were already prepared to hear the sounds of a beating, they probably think it was I who got hit and fell'
'That's fucked up on another level.'
By then Katsuki had gotten up and checked his now, not too heavily, bleeding nose
"What the- huh? De- DEKU!" the sign of blood on his hand was difficult for him to comprehend, in his whole life not many had the opportunity to make him bleed, but to do so twice? Unheard of.
"Katsuki, class started get to your seat"
"Tch", with the teacher's words, Katsuki managed to reign in his rage, yet it did not lessen even a bit, with every moment he stayed quite his glare seemed to get stronger and stronger.
'I-I think I'm dead after this lesson. It was an honor knowing you and being taught by you, sir!'
'Heh, don't worry about that yet, firstly you need to continue training. I need you to open up your text book and start reading from the very beginning right to where you are now, once done repeat the same thing for every other subject and when you finish with that, you need to continue reading the books to the end front to back, ones done you will be doing an online test for each subject to see if you learned anything, if you fail you must do it all again, if you pass you move onto the next grade material.'
'Umm, sir, I don't think I can manage all that combined with schoolwork while still taking notes.'
'Firstly, this is school work; secondly do you wish to become a dumb hero?'
'No sir, right away sir!' with that Izuku opened up his textbook and begun reading from the very beginning, he managed to get through decent chunk before the first lesson ended, and in the reading he entirely forgot about one Katsuki Bakugo and his wrath.
But the explosive blond didn't forget, will never forget. With that, the bell rang, and his fate once more shat on the greenet.
"DEKU! You worthless little shit! You think you can get away from this unscathed!"
Startled form the yell, Izuku nearly dropped his textbook "K-kacchan!? How cou-could I f-forget, I-I'm so so so sorry Kacchan! I-"
"Shut the fuck up! You think hiding in your books will save you!-"
'Izuku, repeat after me'
'w-what?'
'Repeat after me! I'm sorry Katsuki-' "-I'm sorry Kacchan" '-but I don't swing that way-' "-and the way you are coming onto me is making me-" '-very uncomfortable!'
The moment the words left his mouth was the same moment what he said registered in his brain, with a gasp he covered his traitorous mouth and begun berating his mental roommate. Or at least he tried-
'What the hell are you doing?! Run while he's stunned!'
True to Tenno's word Katsuki was stunned by the greenet's words, seeing this, Izuku barely spared a glance at his items and booked it through the door into the now crowded corridor filled with children enjoying their momentary break, the hair on his neck raising up as he felt a wave of heat wash over him.
A sound of an explosion coming from the classroom behind him, with an ugly red shaded blond running out soon after.
"ILL FUCKING KILL YOU! DIE! ILL KILL YOU! FUCKER! DIE! DIE! DIE!"
The two ran through the halls, the sound of yelling and explosions ringing out through out the whole school, the children who mere seconds ago were enjoying some free time were now cowering in fear of getting in the way of the explosive blond.
With Izuku managing to avoid the blonde's line of sight through out all of the ordeal, thanks to Tenno's advice and his own prior experience.
Soon the bell rand signifying the start of the next lesson and the blond nearly blew the door off its hinges while coming in, sparing a scathing glance at the filled classroom, his eyes glanced over the hunched and cowering forms of his class mates, not spotting the center of his wrath he turned back to the door, he prepared to ambush the greenet when he entered the classroom.
Hearing footsteps, the blond eagerly waited with a truly murderous grin on his face, soon the door begun to move and the blond lashed out with an open right palm, small cracks of tiny explosions already dancing across it. And coming in was his math teacher.
If Katsuki is one thing, it's extremely skilled with his quirk, the absolutely-going-to-kill–anything-that-it-touches tier explosion was instantly pulled back, disappearing in to an asthmatic puff of heat that while non-lethal and harmless, still managed to, one: scare the life out of his teacher and two: burn off his eyebrows.
That was the first time Katsuki Bakugo got detention. And one green haired student was there in his seat to watch it all unfold.
'Enough ogling, open up your textbooks you still have seven more to go through.'
Startled from his staring, Izuku quickly jumped to the next paragraph in the book, reading and then rereading it to properly memorize and understand everything said within it, because something tells him that his teacher, Tenno, will not let him off with a passing grade,
':)' He doesn't know what it is, it might just be a hunch, but he believes it to be worth trusting that gut instinct.
