And done. I have finally finished my first floor though the new rooms are empty, but I finally have 10 rooms, they are all follow the same pattern of getting slightly bigger and so on, except for the 10th room as that will be the boss room when I make one, so now onto golems per room, from room 1 to 4 there are normal golems increasing in number by room, the 5th has 2 normal golems right now, as I will start making my elite golems now and the first one will be in this room.
So I have everything in place, the core and the body of a normal golem well I know where to start, I will buff of the body for now by adding more rock to make it bigger and more tank like, hmm well that is all I need isn't it? after all I am not making a boss, just an elite golem but I want it to stand out a bit more than just being bigger, maybe I should do something with the core? I have not tested what happens when I add even more mana, will it explode or just get better at controlling the body, will it glow stronger or be the same?
Realistically I should just be happy with more tanky golems and that is is, but I wand better and also to know what happens, and so I will find out. I started slowly at first adding little amounts of mana, but I saw no real big difference as I was going too slow so began to add a little more and more until... The core began to shining slightly brighter it even got a bit bigger, now I know what I was aiming for I will make the core about 1, no 1.5 times (Around 50 cm. Originally 30cm) bigger not double as it would be difficult to protect without buffing the golem body even more.
Ok I am done, it did not take as long as I thought it would as the growing process began to speed up more and more after the initial growth, but now for the moment of truth and to see what this baby can do, I slotted the core in the elite body, there were no great differences from what happens to normal golems, I saw the whole vein lines, eye glows and so on, though the difference was made apparent when the process had finished.
The eyes glowed far more intently, like a raging fire compared to the calm fire of the normal golems, the veins were far bigger and mana appeared to flow far quicker through them, now enough with the visual changes lets add a mind and test this guy on one of the 2 normal golems, as they are very cheap and easy to make with the mountain of mana I have available now.
Connection complete, I did not add anything special to it's mind, I want to see how well it dose with the same mind first and decide after, oh I need to make it so they fight each other well time to add each other as an enemy so they can begin. When I made them see each other as an enemy I was now just testing the elite but also the normal golem, as I have yet to actually see any golems fight, it was far to expensive to do so before.
The first thing the golems began to do was move toward each other, the elite moved faster that is one difference noted. When they got close enough to actually fight they started throwing punches, heavy but slow punches though again the elites punches were faster and far more heavy, and that is all these guys were far more dumb than I thought, all they did was move toward each other and punch, the elite won and broke the core of the other golem, I think I should add a bit more to all the golem minds, no no I want the normal ones to be dumb and strong, well strong is... Whatever, lets move on.
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
So I will leave the golems be and actually add a bit more to the elite mind, starting with the little bit of fighting knowledge I have, essentially giving them the ability to try dodge, limit damage and take openings of course in a very limited manner, as these guys have not self thinking or improvement so they will only do that in specific circumstances and such, now I don't really think testing this guy will do anything more as I can already guess what will happen and I still need to replenish that dead golem, or do I, it looks like the shattered core pieces are slowly moving back toward each other some have even merged back together, maybe these guys can rebuild after a while, I should better remove them from being enemies then, and oh look, the mind was not removed after it was "Killed" so I am probably right.
Now that I have my elite design in hand, time to populate floors 6 to 9 with and ever increasing amount of elites, starting with 2 for the 6th room up to 5 for the 9th room. I wonder what I will make the boss like, maybe I should try multiple cores.
"Hey Zach are you sure we are going the right way, we have not seen anything like what you said would happen, there is still normal wildlife here along with the monsters." - Kaz
"For the last time. I am not leading us away from the dungeon to avoid the quest, nor am I taking a purposefully long route. I can sense the mana building just north east of here... Kaz." - Zach
"Calm down guys, I know you want us to be there as soon as possible Kaz, but we don't know how far it is, just a general direction, and Zach I know you still think this is a bad idea but we all elected Kaz as leader of our party, he is doing what any leader would do, getting us opportunities." - Celi
"For a second I thought you were on my side Celi, but I really can't be the only one who thinks this is a bad idea. Selth you also don't like this right?" - Zach
Selth nods.
"Come on, you know he will just agree with whatever so he can get out of this." - Celi
"Fine. You got me, but I still think this is a terrib- Woah" - Zach
The party stops at the clearing of a few trees, Ahead they see a cave, a cave that would otherwise have gone unnoticed surrounded by the sea of green.
"Is that it?" Kaz
".. wha- yea, it is." - Zach
"What is it?" - Kaz
"You know we have never been to a dungeon, or ever seen one, but this is not what I expected to see, the mana... It's soo-" - Zack
"We're here? lets go inside, what are you waiting for." - Aldric
"Wait wait wait. I may not be as scared as Zach, but even I can agree that going in tired and unprepared is a bad idea. First we setup camp and rest, it is getting close to nightfall, I will leave all the monster warding and magic stuff to you Zach." - Kaz
"Well, at least you are smart enough to do that." - Zach mumbles
"What?" - Kaz
And so begins another round of complaining as they setup camp.
