I Wrote a New Book. Not Am-Writing, Wrote.

I ran a poll on my Patreon. By a four vote margin (and discounting the isekai-ed into a werewolf romance novel joke option that won in a crushing landslide) my Patrons wanted me to write a straight up classic xianxia cultivation novel next. So I did.

What if you were the child of destiny, born to inherit a life of comfort, even issued a Ghost Grandpa... but God, personally and directly, said "Nah, fuck that and fuck that kid in particular?" And even managed to screw over your Ghost Grandpa in the process?

Well, you would have Sky Pride.

All of Volume 1 is written. Fifty chapters at 2k+ words a pop. It started with a profound desire to make sure I had sufficient backlog (this current Weeaboo run has left me a mite traumatized on that front) and by the time I had a comfortable amount, I figured, fuck it, let's just finish the bastard. Yes, it's a shitty AI cover, my attempt to book my preferred cover designer fell through and for reasons, him having messed up hands is actually thematically appropriate. He does not, however, have blue eyes. Such is life when you don't know how to use photoshop. I'm going to keep looking for a pro who can make what I want.

You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version.

It does have a lot of my usual signatures. I researched actual-fucking-daoism for one thing. The magic system is based on traditional Chinese medicine, the five element system, yin and yang, daoist internal and external alchemy, all that good stuff. It also has a lot of the usual genre tropes... subtly messed with because I can't help myself sometimes.

No harem, no love interest at all, at least in Vol. 1 and none really planned, not stupidly good, not a damn psychopath, actual character growth, Extremely Weak to... well, it's a cultivation novel.

You will notice that the picture isn't linked to anything. The reason for that is simple- Sky Pride hasn't been submitted to the Royal Road Mods for review yet. I haven't even gotten started booking shoutout swaps. I hope to start rolling it out here next weekend. However, if you want to start reading it on Patreon this weekend... click the link in the orange box at the bottom of the page. My lowest tier membership (five bucks) will get you five chapters Saturday, another five Sunday, and a chapter a day M-F next week. Once it launches on RR, I will unlock a ten dollar tier that has even more chapters unlocked. Same structure as Slumrat. So. You know. You got options.

It was really fun to write. I think you are going to love it.
