Chapter 4: First Job Change

  Zanaria Online Dungeon Concept:

SpoilerDungeons are special zones that doesn’t give exp. Aside from the final boss, there are other bosses that can be encountered in a dungeon. Final bosses drop accessories, while sub-bosses drop materials, and of course the drop rate is low.

Dungeons are large, so for every boss killed, a save point will be created. It can be used to go out and restock, but it can only be used once. Once the party enters from the save point, it will vanish.

I want everyone to know that exp and gold from quests are also affected by the the premium kit. Also, only Morta(Rina) can get exp from quests.

  __________

Inside a wide cave with torches embedded on the walls, in front of a large steel gate, was Morta, Decima, Nona, and an adolescent Ragus, now at the size of an adult human.

It took three days to actually finish all main quests up to the job change quest. Majority of the time was wasted on running back and fort to finish quests, they even used teleport gates.

Now they are in front of the gate leading to the final boss of Rogroth Cave, a level twenty five dungeon.

After making Decima, Nona and Ragus drink potions, Rina checked their stats.

“Good.” Rina made a small nod. “Nona, always stay behind Decima and ready your heal. Decima, even if my hp drops low, focus on protecting Nona. Finally, Ragus, stay near Nona and burn everything that gets near her.”

  “As you wish master”

  “Affirmative!”

  “Gao!”

“Ok, then let’s start!” Said Rina as she touched the gate.
Rogroth’s DenYou cannot escape once you enter. Do you wish to continue?YesNo
Rina clicked yes, and all of them were transferred to an enclosed, oval room with light crystals floating on the walls.

The room was as big as three soccer fields, and in the middle was a large worm with a part of it’s body still on the ground.

“Nona!” Said Rina as she ran to Rogroth.

“Fire ball!” A ball of black flames at the size of a head was sent to the blue worm that’s twenty five feet tall, and had a thickness of two sumo wrestlers.

Once the fire ball hit the worm, it wriggled violently and dived to the ground.

The ground vibrated as the worm moved underground.

Soon, it jumped out, so high that it reached the ceiling, leading them to have a view of its whole body.

It was definitely not just twenty five feet, not thirty, not forty, but fifty feet tall. From it’s body, small worms at the size of an adult human dropped to the ground. There were around fifteen.

“Decima! Ragus! Protect Nona! Nona keep firing at the boss!” Said Rina as she slashed one of the smaller worms.

From the moment she shouted, it took twelve seconds before the boss hid underground. At that time, Nona fired two fire balls, and she deduced where the boss will fall and was able to hit it thrice.

While the boss was moving underground again, they cleared the small worms. She checked the party screen before the boss appeared again.

She didn’t use any skill, since she doesn’t have any that could be used against a boss.

Her stun trap doesn’t work on it. All she can rely on are her normal attacks and critical chance. It’s easy to see that she has the weakest class.

She has to stare at Ragus for five seconds before his stats show up, so before she saw, the boss appeared again.

  “Nona! Start shooting!”

When the worm reached the air, there was no mobs that spawned, instead, the boss’ body fell to the ground. Ragus was able to evade, Rina’s evasion kicked in, but the other two was hit by it.

It dealt a lot of damage, but it temporarily stopped moving.

“Nona heal yourself first then heal Ragus, then heal Decima! Decima hit the boss with all you’ve got, and Ragus stay alert!” Said Rina as she continuously hit the unmoving worm.

While attacking, she checked the party screen.

It was far from killing Nona, but Rina can’t risk having her die. As the damage dealer, healer, and the most squishy of them all, Nona has to stay at full health all the time.

They didn’t know, but they were one hit away from killing the boss, before it dived to the ground again.

Rina pulled hp and mp potions from her inventory and threw them to Decima and Nona. “Use that while the boss isn’t attacking! And Nona, Heal Ragus!”

The boss was supposed to get stronger once it’s hp drops to fifty percent, then next is at twenty five percent, and lastly, at ten percent.

They went past all those and reduced the boss’ hp from seventy to one percent, and now its entering it’s desperate state.

The ground cracked, and from the ground, three black worms at the size of an adult human appeared.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

Rina didn’t know what the boss does, since the bosses are different for each race, and she wasn’t a fairy in the beta.

The black worms moved fast and latched around Decima, who noticed what’s happening and pushed Nona away. In a few moments, the black worms exploded.

Even though they had godly equipment, the sudden events surprised Rina, making her shout, filled with worry. “DECIMA!”

When the smoke from the explosion dispersed, Rina’s worries faded, as she saw Decima still standing.

Curious, she checked the party screen.

It did more than three hundred damage to Decima who had the highest defense.

Thinking that, the black worms could have latched to Nona and killed her in an instant, Rina felt a chill on her spine.

“We did it!” Said Nona as she happily jumped.

Rina walked closer, and the other three did to. She hugged all of them to calm herself down.

Nona is still alive, and even if she died, I could just buy anothe-

She closed her eyes as she tightened her hug. She erased the negative thoughts, and moments later, she released them.

Decima was staring at her, with expressionless face, standing straight like a soldier, but with her tail waving around showing her happiness.

Nona looked down, touching her cheeks with her hands as she laughed. “Ehehe”

Ragus flew and circled above them.

They were all bots, but in those four days with them, interacting and seeing their reactions, Rina softened up to them.

Rina smiled as she realized that she was starting to cherish bots that aren’t even alive, and laughed as she realized she doesn’t care if they aren’t real.

“Let’s go back to the city and finish my job change quest.” Said Rina as she walked to the only gate in the room.

  “As you wish master.”

  “Yessu master!”

  “Gao!”

They were transferred directly outside of the dungeon, and they used the teleport gate beside it to return to the city.

  ___

Just like the other days, Rina had to fall in line, since there were a lot of people wanting to get quests from the chief of fairies.

Once her turn came, the chief of fairies was surprised and said. “Already finished?”

  “Yes”

As she clicked Assassin, her body glowed once.

“You’re the the second rogue to finish the job change quest in the Japanese server, so here.”

  “Thanks”

“Now that you’ve finished my final request, you are now ready to go to the war continent.”

She clicked yes, and said. “Thank you for everything chief.”

“I don’t have a script for that, just get out already!”

Rina went out, Nona and Ragus followed, and Decima glared at the chief. If the chief was a mob, Decima would have killed him ten times for shouting at her master.

“Ah, I really hate my job...”

  ___

Once Rina got out, she checked her skills.

She clicked Assassin, and another screen appeared.

She instantly maxed Precision, Short Sword Mastery, and Deadly Aim, and put one point on Weapon Throw and Weapon Dash, and two points on Assault. From her new skills, she gained 5% hit rate, 10% increase in attack of short swords, and 5% critical rate

“Let’s go test my new skills.” Said Rina as she ran to entrance of the city, and while running, she bought the set for assassins from the cash shop.
