Chapter 2.2 - Spending the Cash

You wouldn’t guess it, but on our world, we have it way too easy.

We just walk into the store, take a look, and buy whatever looks nice.

  But dungeons?

Have you got any idea how hard they have it?

I have to decide on my purchase before I see even an inch of the goods.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

If this was a strategy game, I would decide depending on their characteristics.

But having my life tied to a one shimmering light - the wisp - made me think about who would be most compatible with me.

First off, I threw away the choice of forest animals.

While it sounds nice to have birds as scouts, oversized spiders as vanguard, bears as warriors and poisonous wasps as assasins, anyone would spot me as the first strange thing to watch our for.

  And it would be over.

I also crossed out from the list the ents.

The reason is that I want to explore the world a little, plus being bound to one forest almost forever doesn’t sound too safe.

So I was left with the wisps and elves.

  And here is my dilemma...

Are the wisps valuable for anything, or not?

Do magicians all over the world use them for their experiments, or things like that?

I definitely don’t want to put an advertisement, like:

“A group of your favorite magical wisps. Come, take few, and sprinkle them into your elixirs to get a younger visage!”

No, I have to be able to move fast, hide my existence, and talk it out with other races.

  So elves it is.

I just hope they won’t be too dumb due to their “lack of understanding”.
