Dust permeated the warehouse’s attic, the smell of rust and decay returned with a vengeance. Yvlena couldn’t take a breath without wrinkling her nose.
The sensation didn’t affect her much, with it being only a game and not a real life situation where asphyxiation could pose a threat. Instead the smell was only something to notice as she stuck her head into the space to search for the entity plaguing the warehouse.
Sensing no current danger, she pulled herself up and helped her summons climb into the attic so they could scan the area for any potential threats.
A deep chirp resounded from somewhere in the room, making Yvlena jump and spin to assess the source of the sound. It sounded close.
The attic was as big as they basement where she had fought the Lower Miasmic Beast. If she was to fight the entity here, it might be a little bit of a tight squeeze but the brick wall told her it could withstand a lot more damage than the crumbling basement.
Crates and boxes were noticeably absent from the space, leaving a bare room that stretched farther than Yvlena expected. She looked up at the massive breach in the ceiling where sunlight broke through, guiding her ascent to the attic.
A screech pierced the air, followed by the sound of large wings flapping, this time closer than Yvlena had heard it previously. She gulped.
There wasn’t anywhere else she could go, meaning her final stand would be here. Yvlena took the first steps forward, walking towards the source of the sound where she met the creature causing all the warehouse’s problems.
Before her a large, dark brown mass hung from the ceiling reminiscent of a body bag. The mass wiggled the closer she stepped to it, and soon two large wings unfurled, topped with with curved claws prime for slashing.
The bat had now shown itself fully, a beloved pet now corrupted by the miasma. It was horrifying to see.
The middle of the bat’s human sized body split down the middle, revealing the giant amber eye she had seen before opened and Yvlena caught herself reflected in it’s cyclopian gaze. The bat’s face had no eye but it’s leaf shaped nose twitched as it caught her scent.
A bestial roar ripped from it’s throat, giving Yvlena only enough time to glimpse the jagged teeth before it’s talons released it’s grip from the ceiling and landed on the attic’s floor, the floor shook as it landed.

[Objective: Defeat The Eye of Wistful Memory]
“You don’t say!” Yvlena said, jumping to avoid a swipe from the claw that would have taken a massive chunk of her HP if it had hit.
The bat was now on all fours, ears and nose twitching as it tried to follow Yvlena’s movements with the rest of it’s senses. The amber eye had closed and Yvlena understood opening it was the key to defeating it.
As she leaped over the claws again, narrowly avoiding a hit and thanking her lucky stars that the bat was as blind as a...well, bat.
With her summons distracting the creature, Yvlena read the objective to find the clues to beating the creature, get the eye open and then what?

[Rabbit Knight cast Slash (03MP)]
The sound of Rabbit Knight’s blade clashing against the creature’s talons forced Yvlena’s mind out of its musings. All she needed to do was wait for the Bat’s eye to open, and she would show it a memento.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
‘Poor thing, it must just be missing its owner.’ Yvlena thought, much like an abandoned cat or dog. It probably didn’t even know how long had passed. If the people dear to it still walked the streets of Bloom Haven.

[Kuti cast Weaken (03MP)]
[The Eye of Wistful Memory afflicted with weakness -30% HP and attack]
On seeing Kuti’s attack in time with hers, a spike of fear shot through Yvlena. Where was the doll? If she got hit, she would shatter instantly.
“Sprite, where’s Kuti?” Yvlena asked amidst the battle.
[Sprite cast Bind (03MP)]
Vines burst through the wooden flooring, wrapping around the bat’s hind legs, it screeched, swiping blindly at whatever was in front of it.
Yvlena frantically searched for her third summon, and in no time she found her behind the legs of the creature. She gasped, rushing towards the bat’s hind legs before the little doll could be stomped.
“Yvlena!” Sprite yelled, watching her summoner go toward the bat. If it caught a whiff of her scent, it would begin focusing all its attack on the elven girl.
[Sprite cast Stun (03MP)]
Sparks shot forward, buzzing as they hit the creature’s skin. The bat’s large body moved to face the source of its irritation, allowing Yvlena to slide past it and grab Kuti before its leathery wings could slap her away.

Thorny vines grew in a large patch, snaring the creature as it stepped into it. It was all Sprite could do to hold it back from attacking.
Rabbit Knight darted ahead, stabbing the bat’s wings as he tried to keep Yvlena and Kuti from being stomped on.
Yvlena rolled away with Kuti clutched against her chest, making her way to a safer area. She laid her in a spot behind a set of fallen crates. The doll had her hands over her eyes, shaking.
Yvlena sighed in relief, unable to imagine what could have happened if she hadn’t made it in time.
“Will you be alright behind there?” Yvlena asked in concern as Sprite and Rabbit Knight attacked the boss. Kuti nodded, waving her arms frantically and pointing behind Yvlena to see the Bat had ripped free from its bindings.
[Eye of Wistful Memory cast Dash]
The bat moved, seemingly teleporting to cross the space between it and Yvlena, the talon was even quicker, moving to spear Yvlena on it’s tip. She fell backwards before it could connect. Panting hard form the effort it took to move that fast.
She rolled away from the area, knowing if she stood to catch her breath, the creature would show her no mercy.
The bat chirped, spinning around to locate its fleeing prey. It searched, listening for her, but only hearing the sounds of her summons.
[Yvlena Cast Crescent Throw (10MP)]
Yvlena threw the sickle, watching it boomerang around the room as it struck The Eye of Wistful Memory’s head. She ran towards it, with Rabbit Knight by her side, she knew what was about to happen and a fierce combo was unleashed.
[Battle Skill Unlocked: Crescent Slash]
Her sickle, joined with Rabbit Knight’s Rapier, gleamed with the power of Summoner and Summoned. Yvlena’s swung, and a white wave flew through the air, striking the Miasmic Entity. Rabbit Knight, with unmatched speed, completed the combo with a series of vicious thrusts,
The bat staggered, yelping like an injured animal as it fell backwards against the attic’s walls, but the combo had worked.
The eye was open.
