Leon Reinhardt was an average young man. Born in America to German parents, his life was completely average and forgettable for 18 years. He was average in every way; average grades, average achievements, average looks, just another forgettable face in the crowd.
In truth, no one knew this better than him, and honestly, he was okay with things being this way. It took a lot of effort for someone like him to be exceptional, so he liked being average and forgettable, because people didn’t bother him that way. His parents worried about him of course, they thought that he should have more friends, that he should be more social, but he was fine with things the way they were.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
It wasn’t like he avoided socializing, or that he didn’t have friends, it was just that he had his preferences and didn’t like to stand out.
He preferred to spend his time on his favorite hobby, reading, and sometimes playing video games too. Most moments of spare time he had were spent buried in a book or scrolling through lines of text on his smartphone. He loved to read, and he read everything from novels to machinery manuals. If it had words, he would read it.
So the large part of his life till now had been completely average and ordinary. He had graduated from school with average grades, gotten an average job, and planned to continue in this way for the foreseeable future.
However, on an average day in June, Leon’s life changed forever.
