“Ma, I’m here!” he called out to get his mother's attention. A woman that looked to be around in her sixties, came around the corner from the kitchen, Ben's beloved mother, Mrs. Mary Rosewald.
“Ben, you made it!” she said as he walked up to her.“I'm so happy to see you! The last time we spoke was last year on Christmas,” she told him with a smile.

“Yeah, Ma. I’m glad to see you too,” he smiled back while hugging her.
“Oh! Ben, did you see the news? There is some sickness going around that is very contagious.”
Ben thought about it, then said, “No, I don't think I have heard of it."
“Well, It's a good thing you live in Washington, they started closing things down and searching area by area.”
Ben was confused. “What do you mean?” he asked.
“They’ve been searchin’ areas all around Louisiana, and even all through Georgia!” she said.
“Are they doin’ it to Mississippi and Alabama too?” Ben asked.
“Yes!” Ben looked concerned. “Oh, that reminds me. There's food on the table for you,” Mary said, letting the conversation go for a while.
“Thanks, Ma,” Ben replied. Ben went into the kitchen, and the smell of eggs and bacon hit his nose like the belt when he was little. He sat down with his mom and ate.
