Chapter 19: Deathmatch

All three of their auras were blazing intensely. The battle to decide their lives was about to commence.

Vii took the lead and bolted toward the man who, in turn, shot towards her. In the matter of a second they were in front of each other. Assassin teleported and appeared behind the man attempting to slash at his back. The man anticipated this and wasn't caught off guard. The man dodged Assassin's attack by immediately dropping onto the ground by putting his hands on the ground and landing on his side.

He did a leg sweep towards Vii and knocked her off of her feet. She wasn't prepared for a leg sweep as she thought the man would try to block Assassin's poisonous blade in some type of way. While falling, she threw one of her kama's towards her feet and kicked it in the direction of the man who was on the ground. Although she didn't hit him, it landed a mere two inches in front of him. The stakes in this battle was heavy and every movement counted.

Assassin's blade missed when suddenly two more versions of himself came out of his body. These were clones that looked exactly like him and they even had a green sword. This was his second ability: cloning. One of the clones dashed towards the man on the ground, gripping both hands on the sword while in a squatting position in attempt to pierce him. The man took notice and used one of his hands to lift the lower half of his body up and kicked the clone a considerable distance away.

Meanwhile the other clone threw its sword which scraped the man's leg, causing a cut and blood to ooze out.

"Shit! If one wasn't enough, three versions with poisonous blades will be too much. I can still feel the effect of the poison spreading from my arm," the man thought to himself. He was in a perilous situation. This was his moment where he knew he had to end it as fast as possible or he would die.

"1.1x speed," yelled the man. Suddenly his synergy soared and he dashed towards the clone of Assassin that threw the sword. He reached his arm back and landed a devastating punch on the clone, sending it flying and crashing into the wall. Assassin's real body coughed up blood and and grunted.

The man suddenly did a throwing motion in the direction of the clone and a big spiky pillar of the earth rose up from the ground and was sent towards the clone, piercing and killing it. Assassin coughed up more blood and gripped his stomach in pain.

"So whatever pain the clone feels, you also feel it as well? What a double-edged sword," laughed the man. Although the clone dying wouldn't kill Assassin, he would still feel the pain from whatever killed the clone.

Assassin steadied himself and his remaining clone teleported next to him. Vii grabbed her kama that was stuck in the ground and grouped with Assassin and his clone. All of these events happened within a few seconds and the battle was intensifying.

"Earth, wind and a speed increase. Those are his three abilities," said the clone.

"Now that we have knowledge on that, we can know what to expect and take precautions. He's likely trying to end the fight as soon as possible given he's been cut by two poisonous blades and the poison is coursing through his body. At the very least, we need to hold out long enough until it takes him out.”

Assassin and Vii both agreed. Time was of the essence for the man and whether he killed them or not wouldn't stop the poison from destroying him. The least he wanted to do was to kill these two to make things easier for his boss and show that he was worthy enough to be one of his guards.

Once again, Vii took the lead and charged towards the man while Assassin and his clone teleported within his vicinity. In a flash, they were attacking from three different directions. Assassin was on his right, the clone was above and Vii was in front of him.

The main let out a ferocious roar which blew them all away. This roar came from his ability to unleash wind. He stomped on the ground and tens of earth spikes across the entire battlefield rose up from the ground and went in every possible direction. Spikes of earth even came from the walls and the ceiling. In a flash the entire battlefield was changed into a completely different arena.

The earthly spikes blocked Assassin and his clone's vision of the man so they didn't have the ability to teleport towards him. This put them at a huge disadvantage and almost completely negated one of his abilities. Assassin landed on a pillar and scanned the area and his body slowly vanished.

The man dashed towards Vii who was flying towards a pillar and crashed into it. She blinked and the man immediately appeared in her face throwing a series of punches. The last punch had sent her flying through the pillar that she crashed into and even sent her crashing through a few more pillars. The man's pure strength was honed through vigorous training and combat.

The clone teleported next to Vii and helped her get up off of the ground. She coughed up large amounts of blood and then wiped her mouth, smearing blood across her arm.

"Shit, he's so strong. At this rate winning seems impossible!" mumbled Vii.

"Don't worry, the battle will soon come to an end Vii.”

"What makes you say that? I don't know how long we'll be able to hold out before the poison ends him," she replied.

"Trust me, just wait and see.”

Vii trusted in Assassin's plan. With his set of abilities and his training as an assassin, she knew he had something up his sleeve.

The man landed on a pillar and clutched his chest in pain while getting on one knee. The poison made its way towards his torso and started affecting his heart and his lungs. He vomited large amounts of green blood which seemed to let off steam due to the poison.

The man laughed as he knew he only had a few more minutes to live. He started to reminisce during this time and thought about all of the fun moments he had. The moments he had with the other guards and the people in his group as well as his boss. He remembered the laughs they shared, the arguments they had and all of the time they spent together. He wished they could have created more memories but it seemed all of this was coming to an end. Even through all of the good and bad moments, he had no regret for any of them. The man he was today was due to those moments and he wouldn't change anything even if he relived this life infinitely times over. He shed a tear and then came to his senses. Now wasn't the time to reminisce.

He got up and chuckled, thinking about all of the moments they spent together. His time was coming to an end soon but he wouldn't sit still and die, he would try to complete his mission even when facing death head-on.

He felt a strange sense of death approaching when all of a sudden he felt himself get stabbed. He looked around but nobody was there in any direction but yet he could feel himself get stabbed through his chest. Blood stood frozen in the air and slowly dripped on the ground. The object that stabbed him started to materialize and show its form when it gave off a green color in the shape of a sword.

  It was Assassin!

  "Time's up," quietly said Assassin.

Blood rushed out of the man's mouth as his eyes went bloodshot and he let out an intense roar. This roar didn't carry the wind like his last one did. This was a roar of anger. He let himself get blindsided. He was caught off guard but this time by the person he should have kept his eyes on. Many thoughts rushed through his head. If only he didn't reminisce. If only he would have relentlessly kept fighting without stopping. If only he had went all out in the beginning and ended the fight instead of holding back.

He looked back only to see Assassin staring back at him intensely. His long hair covered his face and only one of his eyes were visible. This one eye had a fierce stare as he stared into the eyes of the man.

  The man's eyes were bloodshot.

"If I'm going to die I'm taking all of you with me!!" yelled the man.

He grabbed Assassin's head with his right hand and repeatedly punched him with his left. Blood splattered all over the man's fist as he laid nonstop punches on Assassin whose head was covered in blood. He picked Assassin up by his head and slammed him into the ground putting a humongous crack in the pillar. He slammed him two more times and then launched him far in the distance into another pillar.

Without any hesitation, he shot towards Vii and the clone landing in front of them both. As he landed he broke the ground and sent rocks flying and towered over the both of them. The clone swung his sword but the man didn't dodge and the sword cut him. He was already nearing death so he didn't dare to dodge he was going to take everything head on. He wasn't using logic anymore, his body was moving on instinct with only one goal: to kill.

The sword cut him releasing even more poison into his body as the man grabbed the clone by his arm and slammed him on the ground. He grabbed the clone by his leg and lifted him in the air. The man had the clone's arm in one hand and his leg in another hand. He lifted his knee up and slammed the clone's back onto his knee shattering multiple vertebrae. He threw the clone in the distance as it hit a pillar and collapsed. Assassin let out a powerful scream as his last clone died and it delivered him immense pain in his back. Although his vertebrae were fine, the pain delivered to him was beyond what humans could take and he passed into unconsciousness moments after screaming.

A barrier of water surrounded Vii as the man towered over her. Fear ran through her entire body as she stayed there motionless. The barrier of water was her last hope of protection. She didn't stand a chance against the man and with how easily he defeated the clone, she knew she was next. Nothing but fear ran through her body.

The man's fist pierced the water and shattered it as he grabbed Vii by her neck. He lifted her up and stared at her fiercely as he squeezed with a powerful force. A small amount of blood came rushing out of Vii's mouth as she lost her breath. The man was squeezing every ounce of oxygen out of her body.

She dropped her weapons as she didn't have enough strength to hold them. She swayed her feet trying to get a hold of anything but nothing was in her range. She used her fist to repeatedly hit the man's arm but that also failed. Her hits slowed down until her arms dropped. Her feet stopped swaying and simply stood still.

The man's hand let go of Vii as her body dropped to the ground and lied motionless. The man's arm dropped to his side as he stood still, motionless. Silence filled the room as all three beings on the battlefield were motionless...

  The battle is over...!!
