“The World Has Really Changed”

  < New Seoul, East Side >

  Nam Hojin was in an abandoned warehouse, wearing the new clothes he had gotten from Yoon-jae. It was sad to have to give up his old Adidas windbreaker, his favorite piece of clothing, but if he wanted to become strong, he had to let go of ordinary things like a simple blouse. Then, still inside the warehouse, he said;

  — STATUS! - With a firm voice, and a smile on his face.

  Hojin took a quick look at his status window, until he realized that, the previously empty "Skills" section was now filled... With the "Third Person Eye". He couldn't understand.

  — But how... - He whispered to himself, touching the blue screen of the system with an incredulous face. - I never... Obtained this skill in the game. But... Here... Is it the only skill I have?! - He said to himself, still in disbelief.

  This was like realizing a dream, but... It was too easy. He didn't have to fight for the skill. He didn't have to defeat a Gamemaster or an ADM. He was simply blessed by the creators of the game with this skill. But, of course, Hojin wouldn't compin. That was the only skill in the game that wasn't mapped out in his head, after all, 25 thousand hours of gamepy (equivalent to 2,854 YEARS OF HIS LIFE) had made him memorize every pattern of every monster and boss, every skill and what they did, best combos, etc... But, of course, he knew absolutely nothing about that skill. It would be an incredible period of adaptation.

  In addition, he also noticed that he now had a new section in his status window; "Title". He remembered that, back when he pyed Chronicles of God's Disciples, titles were rare and collectible things, and Hojin was always proud to boast the title "Supreme God of Life, Death and Pride", the rarest in the game... At least, as far as he knew. Apparently, the title "First Pyer" was exclusive, that is, even rarer. He didn't know whether to be pissed off for not having had the rarest title back when he pyed, or happy to have it now in person. Anyway, he remembered something;

  Hojin then took his cell phone out of his pocket, and with a quick Google search, he found a Rank D Dungeon nearby. He knew that, since he was an unregistered ranker, he might not be able to enter it, but he would definitely find a way, after all, he was the "Number One Pyer", wasn't he? And, with a mischievous smile on his face, he put his cell phone back in his face and, while stretching, said to himself;

  — The world really has changed, huh? You even have to pay to enter DUNGEONS... Hah. - He ughed to himself, while stretching in that warehouse.

  Soon, a few minutes after stretching, he was ready, and left that warehouse feeling the mana pulsing through his veins. And now... He had what he always wanted. But... Did personal fulfillment really come from that? What was the point of possessing... Without the effort of having? It was something that was on Hojin's mind at the time, but, at that moment, it wasn't important. An hour of walking ter, at 1:00 p.m., he arrived in front of the Dungeon;

  The "Sword Lizards" Sludge Swamp"!

  It was the Dungeon that every beginner in "Chronicles of God's Disciples" used to level up quickly. It was something that that pce had;

  Maybe some of the monsters with the most repetitive attack pattern in the game?

  Or

  Maybe the ease of finding items scattered throughout the Sludge Swamp?

  That was something that only those who had pyed the game could answer.

  However, inside the Dungeon, something was happening that shouldn't have been happening. A C-Rank Hunter, with a slightly higher level than the Dungeon's, was calmly hunting for items; he was blond and had disguised hair, confident blue eyes, and D-Rank pte armor. In his hands, however, he had a B-Rank "Corrosive Dagger", an item that could easily kill a Sword Lizard with just a few hits. However, even so, something in the Dungeon's atmosphere didn't seem right... As if something was waiting for him further inside.

  When he looked to the side, however, he was caught off guard by a Sword Lizard, which managed to pierce his left arm with its natural dagger, and, despite feeling great pain, the ranker retaliated, plunging his dagger into the creature's chest. As soon as it pierced the monster's bloodstream, it filled it with corrosive poison, and it quickly left this world. The hunter then removed his bde from the creature's chest and threw it into the mud again, which sank quickly. Everything seemed to be going well, until the man realized that, even though the mud level was high in that pce (around the knees), it seemed to be... Increasing. His confident smile soon turned into a horrified face, when he saw that the mud was already higher than his waist and was reaching the height of his chest. He was 1.80 meters tall! That was absurd! But, as soon as he tried to move, he felt something...

  — Shit...- He said to himself, gripping the handle of the dagger tightly. - There's something... Here!

  So, using all his agility and strength, he tried to turn around and escape, just like he would with quicksand, but it wasn't enough. In front of him, he saw a monster; It looked like the Boss of that stage, the Lizard Emperor Solomon, level 15. However... There was something different about it. He seemed even taller, surpassing his already imposing 3 meters in height, the muscles in his right arm seemed... Disproportionate. His eyes, once blue, were now purple, and his teeth seemed to be twice as big. He was NOT the same Solomon from the game "Chronicles of God's Disciples".

  — T-T-THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG HERE! - He screamed, as his expression became increasingly horrified, each step Solomon took was torture for the Hunter. - DO NOT COME ANY CLOSE! - He pleaded, as he brandished his dagger forcefully towards him.

  The Lizard Emperor, however, raised his cws. The hunter's blue eyes widened, and then...

  CLACKKK-

  The creature dug its cws into the hunter's chest, who then screamed in pain. A scream that could be heard by everyone present in the Dungeon. At the same time, Nam Hojin entered the Dungeon and heard... He heard that scream.

  "What the hell?"

  Before he could even finish speaking, he heard one st scream of despair.

  And then, total silence fell over the Dungeon.

  — Hah... That was definitely not normal... - Hojin muttered to himself, paying attention to all sides; - Even if someone weak or a beginner comes here, which I already think is quite impossible... - He continued, thinking about the scream; - A scream of that magnitude wasn't supposed to be made. The Sword Lizards are known for giving a quick death without much torture, but that scream...- Hojin said, sighing and finally deciding to move forward. - It wasn't something one of these would do.

  He was right about his theory. Something that wasn't there was happening... Even if they had found the boss, Emperor Solomon, that wasn't supposed to happen. Someone was trying to change the game's script, and for Hojin, that was horrible. He had all the knowledge of the story and the monsters, but if someone changed anything, even the slightest... It could cause irreversible damage that not even the "First Pyer" would be able to fix.

  The boy then took a deep breath and entered the swamp with only one goal: Level up. Just a few meters ahead of where the Dungeon entrance portal led, movement under the mud became noticeable; There was a Sword Lizard there.

  Unhurriedly, Hojin moved once more, and just as the Lizard was about to attack him with its dagger, straight to the chin, the boy dodged it by jumping back, and as soon as the monster revealed itself from the mud, he was punched in the back of the head and sank back into the mud;
