Chapter 13: Yvonne, the Werewolf Girl

Rudolph found two flatbed carts in the warehouse of the farm.

On one of the flatbed carts was a werewolf that was about to become a sacrifice.

The horse pulled the cart, creaking and swaying on the road. Three alchemical daggers vibrated on the werewolf's back, and the werewolf whimpered continuously in pain.

Sheriff Claude, who was driving this cart, furrowed his brows tightly. The current situation was somewhat grim.

The werewolf tribe didn't appear out of nowhere. Elder Targ, the druid, said that for some unknown reason, a large group of werewolves might be migrating towards Lemang Town.

On the second flatbed cart, there were only Rudolph and the werewolf girl.

The werewolf girl had sold the farm to the druids. The druids couldn't manage the farm either, and they would find someone to take it over.

Rudolph didn't understand why the werewolf girl wanted to go to Lemang Town. For a werewolf like her, Lemang Town was extremely dangerous.

Rudolph already knew the werewolf girl's name now. Her name was Yvonne.

"Yvonne, it's not very safe in the town either. You don't have to worry about the police station. I'm somewhat of an important figure there. But...

But sometimes people from the Tribunal of Fabro City come to the town. The people from the Tribunal are very powerful, perhaps even more powerful than the sheriff."

He reminded the werewolf girl that the town was also dangerous. As a werewolf, it would be better for her to stay away from the town.

Yvonne just sat on the cart with her legs hugged, her face buried in her knees, with only her eyes showing.

"Last night, I heard the call of the alpha wolf..."

It was indeed dangerous in the town, but the werewolf girl was even more afraid to stay in the wild.

If there was a werewolf tribe nearby, and if the alpha wolf of the tribe was of a higher rank than her, then she could only survive by obeying the alpha wolf. Otherwise, the alpha wolf would lead the wolf pack to kill her.

Upon hearing the words "alpha wolf", Rudolph was startled. Although the sun was still shining brightly in the afternoon, he quickly picked up the telescope and looked around.

He found nothing at the edge of the distant forest or on the top of the low mountain.

"Could there be a Level 2 werewolf nearby?"

Yvonne was already a Level 1 werewolf, and only a Level 2 werewolf could have an influence on her.

Since Rudolph found nothing, he continued to drive the cart.

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his waist and almost cried out. How could the werewolf girl have such a strong grip?

Yvonne gave Rudolph a hard pinch.

Rudolph turned his head and saw the anger in the werewolf girl's glistening eyes.

  "What did you see yesterday!"

Judging from the slightly exposed cheeks, the werewolf girl blushed.

"What did I see?" Rudolph fell into a recollection, trying his best to keep a poker face...

  Yvonne pinched Rudolph again.

Rudolph grimaced and said, "I didn't see anything!"

Obviously, Yvonne didn't believe him, and she pinched Rudolph once more.

"I mean... it was quite white... Ouch... it hurts... I didn't mean you were white... I meant the werewolf you transformed into was quite white..."

Rudolph thought that his waist must be both blue and purple.

"By the way, is there anything special about a white wolf?"

  "I don't know."

The werewolf girl used to be just the daughter of a farmer. The only apostles she could come into contact with were the druids hired by the farm. She didn't know much about werewolves either.

The two carts swayed and entered Lemang Town.

"Rudolph, go and invite Mr. the Red Priest to the police station!"

Upon hearing this, Rudolph went directly to the church of the Red Priest.

His memory of the Red Priest's church was that after each full moon sacrifice, the people in the town would line up here to have their blood drawn.

In addition to presiding over the full moon sacrifice every month, the Red Priest also had another task, which was to treat ordinary people. The way of treatment was to provide free bloodletting therapy for people during the full moon.

It was said that everyone who had undergone the bloodletting therapy felt refreshed.

Rudolph deliberately didn't go last month because he thought the bloodletting therapy was useless and also wasted nutrients.

This was the first time Rudolph had entered the church since he traveled here. This church exuded a sense of worship for the moon everywhere.

There were two rows of pillars in the church, a total of 15, on which the phases from the new moon to the full moon were carved in sequence.

On the mural on the ceiling, there were also mythological stories about the moon.

The only sound in the church was Rudolph's footsteps as he walked towards the pulpit at the end of the church.

Rudolph looked at the backs of several people in front of him.

The Red Priest stood at the front, with his back to the door.

There were also three people sitting in the first row, who might be the church staff. These three people rarely appeared in the town, otherwise Rudolph couldn't have never seen them before.

"Mr. the Red Priest, Sheriff Claude sent me to invite you to the police station.

The sacrifice for the full moon sacrifice in December has been prepared. It's a Level 1 werewolf."

Upon hearing the word "werewolf", the Red Priest turned around, and a look of pleasure appeared on his face.

"Very well. Let's go and take a look at our sacrifice now."

The Red Priest got into a carriage, and Rudolph was invited by the Red Priest to get into the carriage as well.

  This made Rudolph very uncomfortable.

The Red Priest had a long face, a pale complexion, no beard. It was only when Rudolph looked closely that he realized the Red Priest had no eyebrows either. The whole person was like someone suffering from albinism.

However, judging from the Red Priest's expression, he seemed to be in a good mood and even chatted with Rudolph about the details of the recent capture of the werewolf sacrifice.

When they arrived at the police station, Rudolph was the first to jump off the carriage.

It was a bit cold in the carriage, and Rudolph was eager to feel the sunlight again. He had the Living Corpse's Tooth and naturally didn't like the cold and damp feeling.

Rudolph directly led the Red Priest to the basement of the police station, where there was a prison cell for detaining werewolves. The sheriff was already waiting there.

The sheriff and the Red Priest engaged in a round of mutual flattery. The Red Priest praised the sheriff for his high efficiency and steadiness in capturing the werewolf so quickly. The sheriff praised that the police station could achieve such results only under the care of the Red Priest.

Taking advantage of the Red Priest's good mood, the sheriff said:

"Mr. the Red Priest, I hope to apply to the superior for more positions in the police station.

The police station suffered heavy losses during the last witch hunt operation. But you know the working efficiency of the superior police station. It's been almost a month, and the approval for the positions hasn't come down yet.

I hope you can sign on my application to increase the manpower of the Lemang Town Police Station.

The situation in the wilderness is not optimistic now. There are many werewolves appearing, and the police force of the police station is really too small..."

Rudolph highly agreed with this. He had to patrol every day and hadn't had a rest for a long time.

The sheriff patted Rudolph on the shoulder:

"Mr. the Red Priest, look. When I went to confront a tribe with 18 werewolves, I could only bring such a young lad like him. How dangerous is that!

Look at this reckless young man. Can he shoulder the heavy responsibility of fighting against the werewolves?

I don't think so. It's extremely urgent for the police station to recruit people.

If we can't recruit alchemists, it's also necessary to recruit more trainee patrolmen, apply for more firearms, and allocate more bullets."

The muscles on Rudolph's face twitched. If they wanted to recruit people, why did they use him as a negative example?

Wasn't it just that he almost shot the sheriff yesterday? Was it really that serious?
