Chapter 30: The Qing Familys Book Pavilion

  Qingjia Cangshu Pavilion

"Sudden enlightenment, glimpse of the heavenly way?"

Qīng Shuǐ recalled that he had once had an epiphany, deeply understanding the benefits it brought. One epiphany was at least equivalent to ten years of bitter practice, and if there was a bit of luck, one could benefit from it for life. However, apart from epiphanies, insight into the heavenly way, and great enlightenment, were there no other ways to enter the innate realm? After all, epiphanies and insight into the heavenly way were matters of fate and opportunity, and most people didn't have an epiphany in their lifetime. Some people, like Qīng Shuǐ, had an epiphany when they weren't at the peak of the tenth level of martial arts...

Just as Qing Shui was about to ask his mother if there were any other ways to break through to the Innate Realm, he heard Qing Yi's voice.

  "Green water, Cangshuge has arrived!"

Qing Shui looked up and saw that the small road paved with gravel under her feet had reached its end. What entered her line of sight was a three-story thick stone house, which looked particularly sturdy and ancient on the outside. The three-story stone building had no windows, and even the doors were made of thick stone.

The entrance is about three meters wide and four meters high, with three half-meter-sized bold seal characters engraved above the entrance: "Tsangshu Pavilion"!

The gate is tightly closed, the library opens its doors for two months at the end of each year. During these two months, any warrior above level 6 from the Qing family can enter to find suitable martial arts techniques. At other times, it is generally closed, and those who want to enter can only knock on the door. This privilege is exclusive to a few direct descendants of the Qing family!

Qīng Shuǐ's first visit, after all, the Qīng family's library also has rules. Although there aren't many treasures inside, among them are martial skills and some miscellaneous things, such as "The Continental Medical Classic", "The Continental General History" and so on.

Except for martial skills and meritorious methods which are all on the third floor or second floor, those not-so-important but somewhat precious things are placed on the first floor. Family members who are martial artists of sixth grade or above can go to watch or copy them, but they cannot be leaked outside!

He walked to the entrance and knocked three times on the thick stone door with his hand, slowly and heavily, in a muffled and lingering tone.

  After a while!

Creak! The heavy stone gate opened, and an old man with white hair walked out. The old man looked frail and his eyes were dull, but his clothes were spotlessly clean!

"Lin Bo, I brought Qing Shui here to borrow some books!"

Qing Yi saw the old man smiling a bit cutely, this is Qing Shui's feeling!

"Ah, it's been a long time since you've come to see old man Lin," said the kindly smiling old man. As he finished speaking, he raised his head and saw the clear water behind Qingyi's back, and for an instant, his turbid eyes cleared up, but soon returned to their original state.

"You're Qing Shui, very good, very good!" The old man's smile was so wide that he said "good" twice in a row, which made Qing Yi quite surprised. Lin Bo rarely praised people, not even his three-generation grandson or Qing Yan.

"Hello, Grandpa Lin!" Qing Shui respectfully gave a junior's salute!

"Great!" Lin Bo said with a happy tone, as if he had stumbled upon something good!

Qing Shui followed Qing Yi behind Lin Bo into the library!

As soon as I entered the Qing Shui, I found that the seemingly small book pavilion was actually quite large inside. It felt a bit empty and the lighting was very dim. On the walls were placed several beads like jade stones, which looked a bit like night pearls but not quite. Although the scattered light was a bit dark, it was still possible to clearly see the things inside.

Against the wall stood row upon row of ancient wooden bookshelves, which were called "ancient" because they looked old and worn, but also very sturdy.

Lin Bo's back was bent and he looked very old. It is said that he has been in the library for several decades!

"Lin Bo, I'll help Qing Shui borrow a few basic medical books!" Qing Shui said directly to Lin Bo as soon as he came in.

Lin Bo was taken aback for a moment, but then quickly calmed down and slowly walked to an inconspicuous place to pick up several dusty books. He patted the dust off them and slowly walked back.

For this unremarkable process, Qing Shui had been watching Lin Bo's movements. He had a kind of intuition that Lin Bo seemed very powerful, but he was soon ridiculed by his own thoughts. The strongest in the Qing family was his grandfather, and no matter how strong Lin Bo was, he couldn't be stronger than him...

"These books have been placed here for forty years, and no one has ever touched them. I didn't expect someone to borrow them today. Forget it, don't bother returning them. They were originally going to be thrown away, but since the Qing family still has people who read, take them!" Lin Bo said as he handed the books over to Qing Shui.

Qing Yi felt a bit strange, Lin Bo had never spoken so much before, let alone complaining like he did today.

Qing Shui took the book handed over by Lin Bo, and always felt that Lin Bo was a person who hid cleverness in clumsiness, and clarity in turbidity. He seemed ordinary but was actually wise and foolish, with a hidden edge in his chest!

"Thank you, Grandpa Lin!" Qing Shui said with gratitude as he looked at the several books in his hand, which were over a foot thick. The rough ones included "The Continental Medical Classics", "Ten Thousand Kinds of Herbal Medicine Analysis", and "Herbal Prescription". Hmm, there's still one more!

Qīng Shuǐ looked at the last one with a strange expression, which was also made of that old-fashioned cowhide paper, "Basic Sword Techniques"!

Qing Shui originally wanted to give it to Lin Bo, but Lin Bo didn't even look at it and waved his hand, "If you're done with it, just throw it away directly, don't bother returning it!"

Since it's going to be thrown away anyway, just keep it for yourself. Besides, judging from the name, it doesn't seem like a good martial art!

Farewell Lin Bo, Qing Yi and Qing Shui left the Book Pavilion, that heavy stone gate closed tightly!

Qing Yi only knew that since he was old enough to remember, Lin Bo had been living in the Qing household. Moreover, Lin Bo never saw outsiders, but he treated the children and grandchildren of the Qing family as if they were his own, especially Qing Yi. When Qing Yi was young, Lin Bo was particularly close to him, and even now, Qing Yi still held great respect for this old man, and in his heart, he regarded this lonely old man as a member of his own family.

Qīng shuǐ kàn kàn bào zhe de hòu hòu de yī dàng shū, xīn zhōng gǎn kǎi, qián shì dǎ yóu xì dǎ dé tài rù mí, kàn shū? chú le kàn diǎn xián shū shén me shū dōu bù kàn, méi xiǎng dào zhè lǐ zi yóu le què zì jǐ yào zhǎo shū kàn!

  Translation:

Qing water looked at the thick stack of books in her arms, feeling sentimental. In her past life, she was too engrossed in playing games and didn't read much except for some casual books. She never thought that after gaining freedom here, she would be looking for books to read herself!

  "People can be really cheap!"
