Act 0: A World For The People

  “You’re not coming, Mr President?”

President Jian Zhusi smiled bitterly at Vice President Alicia Wu. “That's alright. You guys should go first. I'll…I think I'll wait for the UN delegates to arrive.”

Alicia frowned. “You wanna meet them? Why?! What possible reason is there to meet those arrogant invaders?!”

“Well…we won't be seeing each other anymore after this. Consider this meeting a farewell.”

  “Ohh…okay then? You sure?”

  Jian Zhusi nodded.

“Then…we'll be leaving first.” As she wore her helmet, she couldn't help but sighed when she looked at Earth.

Jian Zhusi tried to console her. “Hey, come on. Maybe it won't be so bad. We could use the technology we designed on Mars to rebuild life on Earth.”

“Yeah. And once we rebuilt Earth, those UN bastards would demand us to give Earth back to them. What assholes!”

There's nothing else Jian Zhusi could say. So he stayed quiet, and let Alicia vent, as he helped her to wear her space suit.

After he watched as the last space frigate left the Mars airway, he just stood there. Taking in the beautiful view of space.

This usually calmed him down. Motivated him even.

Now, it just filled him with even more dread.

“Haih, I know how you feel Alicia…” Jian Zhusi sighed.

“They took the rich and famous. As well as their military might. And went to find a place to build a utopia in Alpha Centauri. Wishing for each of their families to be royals of their own exclusive planet.”

“Too bad! It's already occupied with other beings. Beings a lot more technologically advanced than them. And were chased out of the system.”

“Heh! And then, knowing that they are weak, they return and oppress us. The UN is truly the strong bullying the weak. Bravo!” Jian Zhusi lamented.

Of all the people, Jian Zhusi probably had the most right to complain. He had worked too hard transforming Mars into a livable planet for the commoners.

When Earth's resources finally dried up, the UN wasted no time. They packed up, took the elites, and left.

At first, people were excited. They thought that they would be bringing everybody to Mars. Oh, how wrong they are.

The elites left all the commoners, the Asia, Africa and Middle East region to fend for themselves. And they not just move to the next planet, but go and travel to Alpha Centauri. A neighbour system to the Solar System.

Thankfully, when Jian Zhusi became president of China over ten years ago, he had prepared for it. Especially when NASA discovered that Alpha Centauri had a lot of planets with similar atmospheres to Earth.

Jian Zhusi kickstarted the Mars Terrarium project. The idea is to build a bunch of glass domes for people to live in. Each dome will have underground cities, as well as farm fields on the surface.

And yet, at the last minute, the elites returned. Under the UN's name, they kicked the commoners out of the Terrariums, and claimed Mars as their own territory.

Jian Zhusi knew what the next play would be. The commoners would practically be turned into slaves just for the chance to live in Terrariums.

“Hehe, don't worry Alicia.” Jian Zhusi said as he turned around, and entered the Terrarium. “I'll make sure that they won't destroy our utopia ever again.”

Jian Zhusi walked with firm steps as he headed for the Nuclear Reactor Central Tower. The one powering the Terrarium.

A month later, Earth received two pieces of news. Picked up by the main satellite. One good news and one bad news.

The good news, is that the UN shall never enslave them ever again. They are now dead. Pieces of their flesh still floated around Mars alongside their fancy space shuttles.

The bad news, is that the good news came with a price. The death of a benevolent leader. President Jian Zhusi sacrificed himself. He lured all of the UN delegates inside the Central Terrarium, and detonated the nuclear reactor.

Who knows what he did to ensure that Mars is not blown over by that kind of powerful blast, but he managed to do it. He freed the Earth from being run by elite dictators again.

In an office, in a meeting room, Alicia Wu and the rest of the Mars committee mourned their great leader. With tears still streaming down their cheek, she vowed to continue the vision of Jian Zhusi.

To ensure that the planet will be for all of its people, and not just for select elites.
