This is Melina Silver, the newest progidy of The Academy of Greater Investigation. She had proven herself to be quite capable as she had graduated at 19 which is the same as Marshall himself. Her competitive and short-tempered nature is only opposed by her cold and cunning mind. Physically she is kind of short at 162cm (5ft 4) compared to Marshall's imposing 195cm (6ft 5) height. She weighed 70kg (154 lbs) due to her musculature and parents. Her light brown skin and short black hair were only opposed by her eyes which became a bright silver colour after being the servant of Parababora.
Melina's mother is a centaur and her father is a minatour. They met at the rebellion against the Quolaca Republics as her Mother was the one who helped her Dad escape. During the time they spent with each other, they slowly fell in love. Melina took both parts of her parent's human DNA so she came out looking like an average human except for her fantastic stamina, strength, and sense of direction. Her older brother however took both parts of the horse DNA so he came out looking like a real horse but he had the mind of a genius. A lot of people looked at him with a sense of superiority but he held strong and proved himself to be one of the greatest minds of the century. Seeing her older brother's success despite the odds fueled her with determination to change the world and how it currently operates.
So she joined the Academy of Greater Investigation and she blazed through the different schools of the Academy. She went past the School of Research in 2 months. Just a bit later she finished the School of Combat in 1 month due to her excellent physical capabilities. She then graduated from the School of Magic in 4 months and finally, she survived and passed the School of Greater Investigation in 5 months. She had graduated from the Academy in just a year which would put her as the earliest graduate ever if Marshall hadn't set the record at 10 months, 37 years earlier. During her graduation ceremony, she received Parababora -God of The Feast- as her patron. They both got along well as both of them had an unsatiable hunger for knowledge and power. Parababora complimented her unyielding spirit towards change and helped her achieve it no matter what stood in her way.
And at the time the biggest thing she wanted to see was Marshall himself. She had heard about his leadership during the Quolaca Republic rebellions from her parents and how he was the one who led the charge against the elves. This curiosity turned to admiration as Marshall was the only one who was better at being a detective than her. This was echoed to her many times by the people telling her the cases solved by the Greatest Detective Alive. She made it her top priority to find Marshall and work alongside him. For the past 7 years, she worked hard to rise through the ranks to work alongside him. Even when they told her that Marshall never accepted a partner before, she didn't yield and was able to find herself working alongside Marshall on the case of The Burning Factory.
The reality was very different than what she imagined however as what she found wasn't the Greatest Detective Alive let alone a funcional human being. He drowned himself in alcohol and drugs, he never took notes and actively didn't file reports, he always arrived late and hung-over. She had to do twice the work as Marshall wasn't doing his part of the job. Sick and tired of working overtime, all the time, she used her leave and took a 1 week break to clear her mind.
During this time the more she thought about it the angrier she got.
This wasn't only because Marshall was hardly working.
This was something deeper.
She felt betrayed.
She always thought of how she can change the world but looking at it now…
If even the person that was the sign of revolution is in a state like this then…
For the first time in her life she doubted herself.
She doubted her ability to bring about a change in the world.
She…

She rushed out of the house and into the streets. The cold wind of the night swept through her hair as she ran. The moonlight shined in her bright eyes. Its silver colours split the night as she ran through the empty streets. Her lungs took in the cold air as it chilled her insides.
She ran…
She ran…
She ran…
She…
She stopped and sat on a bench near the shore. The Sea in its eternal motion swept the shore wave after wave.
She took a deep breath as to compose herself once again…
Inhale…
Exhale…
Inhale…
Exhale…
Inhale…
…
With the exhale a thunder struck as the sky came crashing down. The rain swept through her face as she looked at the sky. The rain hid her tears as they streamed down the windows of her soul.
All the tension, stress and doubt…
They had stayed in her mind even when she didn’t know it. The pressure crushed her. Breaking her bones, tearing the flesh.
The emotions she hid inside a steel case of confidance and responsibility had broken out.
The poison seeped into her eyes as she let them out. The breaking point…
She cried…
She cried…
She cried…
She cried…
She cried…
She…
She woke up in her bed.
She was still wearing the clothes she was wearing the previous night.
Still soaked in water and tears…
She took them off and threw them across the room.
She felt lighter…
This wasn’t because of the clothes she just took off.
No.
The tenseness in her body. The weight in her mind. Every single thing was washed away. She felt a heat rising from inside. The cold of the clothes was gone. The ashes of a fire she once carried in her came to life once more.
The fire spread through the room. The sound of birds could be heard from the outside. The radio began singing a tune.
The fire got hotter and hotter as she left her house and rode the train to the centre of town and entered the “Moonlight Hotel”.
With no doubt in her steps, she ascanded the stairs blazing with fury and a new sense of purpose.
She knocked on the hotel room of Marshall…
Now everything was clear to her. She knew what she had to do. If she wanted to change the World than she had to change Marshall first. The Beacon of Rebellion had to be lit again.
Marshall opened the door…
Melina looked at him with anger and determination in her eyes.
Marshall was just about to open his mouth to say something but it never left since Melina threw a left hook right into his Liver.
Marshall dropped to the floor as Melina began to speak:
“Hello, Detective. How are you today?”
“Never been better” said Marshall as he slowly got up from the floor squirming in pain.
The smell of alcohol filled the room. It was so bad that it could tear its way through someones skin, right into their bloodstream.
“Would you like to give me a report on what you did these couple of days while I was on my leave Detective?” Said Melina
“What are we gonna say Marshall?” Asked Tachola as he tried to come up with a plan.
“I don’t know. I don’t remember anything.” Said Marshall in his mind.
“Should we lie?” Asked Tachola.
The voice of an Old Lady joined the conversation:
“Just tell her the truth honey.”
Marshall caught of guard audibly said;
“Huh?”
“I asked you what you did Detective and I demand a report.” Said Melina repeating her question.
“Who is that?” Asked Marshall controlling himself to not say it out loud.
Before Tachola can answer the voice of the old lady answered.
“I am Parababora darling. The God of The Feast. Tachola should know me pretty well.”
“Do you know this lady Tachola?” Asked Marshall
“Oh yeah, we were dating a long time ago.” Answered Tachola
“God’s can date and fall in love?” Asked Marshall as a hundred questions ran around in his head.
“Yes and now you should answer my sweet servant Melina and you should answer honestly. You have no idea what she went through.” Said Parababora
Marshall sighed and told Melina that,
“I don’t know. I don’t remember.”
“What do you mean you don’t remember?” Replied Melina
“I literally don’t remember. I woke up in a bathtub this morning and I don’t seem to remember anything.” Said Marshall
“I even found these last records in my notebook but I don’t remember writing them”
He handed the notebook the Melina as she flipped through the last pages.
Melina was quiet baffled by all this. Was the Detective lying because he was ashamed that he didn’t do anything while she was gone or was he under the effect of a drug. She wasn’t sure.
She quickly reminded herself that it didn’t matter and the first thing they needed to do was to start the investigation on the scene and with the locals. She had already done the Research part of the investigation way before.
“Okay so we need to get your memory back right?” Melina said with sarcasm
“We are going out so put on some pants” she added
Marshall slammed the door shut and ran inside as he just realised he was standing in his underwear all this time.
He put on his special uniform and rushed outside.
The Investigation starts now.
