Log I
2015 | June | 12th | Friday
“We’ve landed in 2015.” the robot said. Doubting the robot’s words, Sea-Jay asked “Prove it.”. “Look around mate, it’s all old fashioned, innit?”. The robot’s accent was very noticeable and annoyed Sea-Jay.
Both of them scuttled to the start of the alleyway they were in. Robot: “Make sure that nobody sees you. We don’t wanna cause any timeline problems.”. “Don’t worry, I’m sneaky like that.” Sea-Jay responded in full confidence. Both of them took a quick peek around, making sure nobody saw them.
“Where even are we?” Sea-Jay asked, looking at the robot. The robot took a few seconds, turning some inner gears, trying to figure it out. Suddenly the gears stopped and the robot responded “My data says we are in…” he suddenly stopped again. Sea-Jays face got worried. “Where are we?” he asked once more. “Australia.”.
Both of them started freaking out. “Please tell me you’re joking!” Sea-Jay said while covering his face with his wings. The robot responded: “I ain’t mate. I ain’t.”. In panic, Sea-Jay and the robot started walking in circles, trying to come up with a plan. “Okay, okay, I’m still not convinced we’re actually in 2015. I know how you can prove it though. Show me a species that only existed back now.” He challenged the robot. “Do ya’ think I got a clue on what animals existed in this time? Again, mate, buddy, look around, these aren’t buildings of the present, they are clearly from older times.”.

Defeated, Sea-Jay fell on the floor. “Why did you have to send us to the time in the middle of the 3rd world war. And why in the country that’s gonna get nuked this year? What exact date is it? Maybe it’s gonna get blown up in a month or so, so we’ll be back home by then.”. The robot started spinning its inner gears once more. And after a bit of time, he responded “The 12th June. But how is that possible? I remember it getting blown up in early April.”. “Me too, this place should be a wasteland… That can only mean one thing. You have been lying to me! You probably just sent me in a simulation!” he said.
The robot drove over Sea-Jays foot, making him jump up in pain. “Ouch! What’s that fo-…”. Robot “You should know what that means. You can’t feel pain in a simulation, can you? That would mean…”. Sea-Jay “But that doesn’t… How? Then why is this place still standing?”. “I don’t know. I’d just like to go back to 2515. But my time-battery is gonna take some days to load back up.”
