I was feeling pretty excited, Lucia and Ange were coming back to town and Lucia was throwing a masquerade party. She tended to throw some pretty fun parties and I had convinced May to come with me.

  Now the boss was back in town too. I opened up his front door and walked in ready to begin my word day when I saw he was dressed to go out. "Oh sorry I guess your heading out" I noted not certain if I should stay behind to clean anyways.

  "Why yes" he responded and paused for a moment "say Kat, why don't you come with me? I'll pay you for the day anyways but it'll be a bit nicer than just cleaning like normal." I hesitated to respond, the house was rather dull when no one was around.

  "Where would we be going" I asked figuring it would be best to know before agreeing to anything. The boss patted the air and smiled "I just need to go buy some clothing, nothing crazy." Oh, well yea that seemed simple enough.

  "Yes sir, I'll go with you" I agreed and he led me to his car. The car looked like a sports car of some sort, it was a neon blue color and had dark tinted windows. I sat in the passenger seat and we quickly made our way to the local mall. Ange and I had been to this mall before, the most we ever bought were snacks though.

  We walked inside and soon enough we found ourselves in a clothing store. I walked around the woman's section as I took note of all the beautiful outfits I couldn't afford. I didn't even bother looking at the price tags, best not to break my heart.

  "See anything interesting" I heard him say coming up behind me as I put a red and white dress back in it's pce. "Everything is interesting" I chuckled, thinking how nice it will be someday when I can just afford to buy whatever.

  "Why don't you try one on" he asked and I shook my head as I turned to face him. "Nah, I can't get it anyways so why bother." My boss cupped my chin and tilted my head up to look at him. "Go ahead and pick out your favorite Kat. Try it on, even if you can't afford it, it will help keep you motivated. Focused on your goals."

  He gently let go and pulled away as I took a step back and bit my lips. Well, I mean it's not like I'm going to tear the dress up... There's no harm in it right?

  I picked up the red and white dress again and headed into the changing room to try it on. Might as well see what a better version of me looks like right?

  The dress was perfect, it had slits cut into the sides so my legs could slip out as I walk, and the white lines seemed to perfectly follow my curves. It had shorts sleeves and a long V cut to better show off my girls, which was always welcomed when I'm trying to impress. I did ugh a little at that thought though, after all who would I even be trying to impress? Well, but you never know who you might find.

  I was about to take the dress back off when I stopped and looked at myself again in the mirror. I shrugged to myself as I took out my phone and took a picture to send it to my boss. It was his idea after all, besides he got two pics of me daily at the gym so it's not a bid deal.

  "Absolutely stunning" he responded back, followed immediately by another text saying "and the dress is rather pretty too" I rolled my eyes, although I caught myself smiling in the mirror. Whatever, who wouldn't like to be complimented?

  I changed back into my regur clothing and headed back out. "Hey, I'm almost done" the boss said as he walked up to me. "Here why don't you get us some snacks and I'll put the dress away and finish up here" he said while handing me a card. "Oh um yes sir. Is ice cream ok?"

  "It's perfect" he smiled as he took the dress and headed off. I left the store and walked over to the ice cream shop, getting two cones. He met me at the table and we ate our ice cream as he talked.

  "Haven't seen it" he responded referring to a show I was talking about. "How have you not seen it!? It's the best show out right now!"

  He just shrugged though "I don't really watch tv. I might try, but I get too easily distracted when I'm just trying to watch it on my own. That's why I prefer watching something in the theaters."

  "But then you might end up with the noisy kids or the annoying couples who want to talk the whole movie" I retorted, my hands crossed at my chest. "Besides you have a big ass tv, why not use it?"

  "Well maybe I can try watching something while you cook and clean, that way if I get distracted, you can call me out on it" he suggested. "Fine, but I am making you watch the whole show!" I procimed and he just ughed seeming perfectly at ease.

  "Well we'd best get going, should I drop you off at your dorm?" I blinked for a second in confusion. Oh yea, guess it wouldn't make sense to go to his home just to uber back to the dorm. "Yes sir, please and thank you" I smiled as he stood up and held out his hand helping me up.

  He had such random gentleman moments. Not that I minded though, I took his hand and let him lead me out and back to the car. He drove me back to the dorm and as I was getting out he stopped me "Kat" he said.

  "I wanted you to know I really appreciate your help around my house, and I trusted you with my house while I was gone and everything was perfect. So since we never agreed on any bonus, I figure I could at least give you this."

  He gave me a Christmas box that looked to small to have anything too valuable. "Oh um, you didn't need too." I said, my check flushed red as he'd caught me completely off guard. "Well that is the premise of a gift, they're not required. But I wanted to get you something, don't open it until your in your dorm though.

  "Yes sir, thank you sir" I said, speaking quickly as I closed the door and rushed over to the dorm. I could feel my heart racing, what could he have possibly gotten me? I mean there's no way he would...

  "Everything ok?" May asked as I burst through and quickly closed the door behind me. "I um I got a thing" I said pcing the box down.

  "It's not a bomb is it?" May asked sounding rather sarcastic as I slowly opened the box. Inside was the red and white dress from earlier. "Oh wow! It's amazing" May excimed her eyes wide "how much did that cost though?"

  "I um... I don't know" I gently pulled it out and looked it over, the price tag was gone and I had never checked it. "You have to wear that to the party! It'll look so amazing! Have you tried it on yet?"

  I nodded my head, feeling at a loss for words. I never owned a dress this nice, the material was soft and light to the touch. I looked at May and she could see the shock written all over my face. "Katherine, how did you get that dress?"

  "It's my Christmas bonus" I said gently and May raised her eyebrow. I could practically read her thoughts. "I didn't pay for it though" I said, not referring to money. "Well that's a little weird, but hey let's not look a gift horse in the mouth. It's a nice dress, and you didn't pay for it." May seemed to want to reassure me and I nodded along.

  Yea, yea I didn't pay for it. It was just a gift, a Christmas bonus... Nothing crazy...
