While Tobias was busy going through the list of skills, the car suddenly came to a halt.
"We're here, sir," the driver announced.
"Thank you," Tobias replied, getting out of the car.
As he stepped out, the car sped away, leaving Tobias standing in front of a house. From one look, Tobias knew the pce needed some repairs. But it was still in better shape than the nearby houses.
"I live in a slum?"
Tobias thought he was an escort, so he should have been rich. But then he remembered the achievement he got moments ago.

Upon considering the condition of his house, Tobias wasn't surprised. He must have taken the job to improve his living condition. It was the only expnation he had for the moment.

Just as he was about to unlock the door, it opened and out of there, two beautiful dies walked out. The blonde one was quite mature, both in looks and figure, while the other was a replica of the blonde woman, but younger and petite.
"Welcome home, son," the mature woman smiled. "I have left some food for you on the table. Don't forget to heat it before eating. Michelle and I are going grocery shopping. We won't be gone for long."
While the mature woman was kind and happy, the younger woman, Michelle, couldn't give two hoots about Tobias. She was busy on her phone texting someone.
"Sure... Mom," Tobias smiled and walked past them to avoid any awkward talk.
He did not know that the two words he said were the first he'd spoken to them in a year. Even Michelle was shocked enough to stop texting and stare at Tobias' back.

"Called me… Mom?" the mature dy said, gushing with happiness.

Tobias was worried he wouldn't find his room. After all, he couldn't remember anything. But somehow, his feet led him to an upstairs room, and sure enough, it was his.
"Muscle memory... yeah, that must be it."
Tobias pushed open the door to his room, and it did not surprise him. The pce was untidy and could use some cleaning. But all he wanted was to flop onto his bed and close his eyes for a while. As he jumped on the bed, he heard a soft thud.

He leaned over the edge of the bed and saw a small, worn notebook lying on the floor. The notebook's cover was faded, and the edges were torn, but something about it seemed familiar. Tobias sat up and opened the notebook, only to realize it was his diary.
"Hm... I guess this would solve one of my problems," Tobias whispered.
He had no recollection of his life. But with the diary he could get learn most things about his life till then.
"April 12th, Modern year 872," he read aloud. "Today was a good day. I hung out with Sam and Alexa after college. I wonder how long I can keep it in."
"June 5th, Modern year 872," Tobias continued. "I can't believe it! I finally asked Alexa out, and she said yes! We're going to the movies on Friday. I can't wait!"
It seemed like a typical diary of a teenager. But it didn't check out. Wasn't he 20? Besides, he couldn't recall any Alexa or Sam, but the way he wrote about them made it clear how much they had meant to him.
"I should keep reading it," Tobias mumbled, but was interrupted when the bell rang.
He peeked through the window and saw two men standing at the entrance.
