Chapter 10: Basic Breathing Techniques

Xiao Yue smiled and raised an eyebrow, “It seems like you’re not pnning to give up. Luckily, I brought something for you.”

“Something?” Su Twelve looked up, momentarily stunned.

As soon as the words left her mouth, Xiao Yue waved her hand, and several items appeared in her grasp. They were a set of green clothes, two books, and an iron identity token.

“This is your identity token, it has your name on it and is used for verifying disciple identity within the sect.”

“The disciple robe is made from Yunmeng silkworm silk, and can stretch according to your body size. Amazing, right?!”

“And these two books, one is the Sect Manual and the other is the Basic Breathing Technique.”

Xiao Yue smiled as she introduced each item, then handed them over to Su Twelve.

After a moment, she added, “Also, every disciple who joins the sect can go to the Alchemist Pavilion every year to receive three Peiyuan Pills.”

“Of course, once your cultivation reaches the Sixth Stage of Qi Refining, you will not only be able to choose an official cultivation technique from the Library Pavilion, but you can also receive ten Spirit Stones and three Gathering Qi Pills.”

“Thank you, Senior Sister!” Su Twelve took the items and briefly scanned the Basic Breathing Technique book, a desperate gleam fshing in his eyes. He quickly bowed and expressed his thanks to Xiao Yue.

For him, everything else was secondary. This book, which taught cultivation techniques, was the treasure he had long been yearning for.

“Alright, I can see you’re anxious, I won’t disturb you. Work hard, Han Yu has already reached the peak of the First Stage of Qi Refining, you need to catch up too,” Xiao Yue said with a smile, observing Su Twelve’s eagerness.

Though she spoke encouragingly, she didn’t believe Su Twelve could surpass Han Yu, who had an excellent dual spirit root. Still, she felt it was necessary to offer some words of encouragement.

With a shake of her head and a smile, she left hurriedly.

After sending Xiao Yue off, Su Twelve took the items and locked her instructions in his mind. He then hurried back to his room and eagerly opened the Basic Breathing Technique book.

The book not only recorded the cultivation methods for the first six stages of Qi Refining, but also provided some basic cultivation knowledge and two small techniques: Fire Control and Wind Calling.

These details didn’t catch Su Twelve’s attention much. His memory was sharp, so after a quick gnce, he had a rough understanding of the content.

However, his focus remained on the cultivation section.

The book described in detail the techniques for absorbing Qi into the body and circuting it internally.

This was an area where Su Twelve had some natural talent. After reading through it once, he more or less understood the meaning.

To be cautious, he read the book two more times, then sat cross-legged and began to try cultivating.

After consuming rge amounts of Peiyuan Pills, he could clearly feel the faint spiritual energy in the air.

But when it came time to actually absorb the Qi into his body, he realized how difficult it truly was. The strands of Qi were like wild horses, nearly impossible to tame.

For several days, Su Twelve practiced day and night. At first, he was somewhat worried, fearing the Bck-Cd Man might find him at any moment.

But then he realized that the Bck-Cd Man probably couldn’t guess that he had a spiritual root and had joined Yunge Sect.

With this thought, he felt somewhat relieved.

Despite his young age, Su Twelve dispyed great patience in his cultivation.

It wasn’t until the fifth day that he finally succeeded in absorbing the first thread of Qi into his body.

Feeling the Qi within him, Su Twelve smiled in delight, quickly focusing his mind to control it.

He tried to circute the Qi within his body according to the technique, and after one full cycle, the Qi condensed into a small bead of true energy, which then entered his dantian.

The next moment, his body trembled, and an incredibly comfortable sensation spread throughout his entire body.

Exhaling a breath of white air, Su Twelve beamed with joy and clenched his fist in excitement.

“Great! Starting today, I am officially a Qi Refining Practitioner!”

“This small bit of true energy may not be much, but it’s a good start! Keep going!”

Taking a deep breath, Su Twelve continued absorbing the Qi and refining the spiritual energy.

After ten days of intense practice, he had only managed to refine a few more strands of spiritual energy, with just a few tiny, barely visible beads of true energy.

This speed and result caused him to lose all hope in his spiritual roots.

“No way, at this rate, it’ll be impossible to reach the first stage of Qi Refining!”

“If I don’t improve quickly, not only will I never get revenge on the Bck-Cd Man, but I might not even survive the Newcomer Trial in three years.”

“Looks like I’ll have to try the Gathering Qi Pill. But this pill can only be obtained after reaching the Sixth Stage of Qi Refining, there must be a reason for that.”

Sitting cross-legged on his bed, Su Twelve muttered to himself, then pulled out a Gathering Qi Pill from his robes.

He stared at the pill in his hand and hesitated for a moment.

“According to the book, the quality of medicinal pills is divided into four grades: Low-grade, Mid-grade, High-grade, and Top-grade. Top-grade pills are pure and transparent, like fwless white jade.”

“These pills, because they don’t contain any toxins, can be consumed by cultivators without fear of harm. They are extremely precious. Could it be that the Dan Furnace refines only Top-grade pills?”

At this thought, Su Twelve became excited.

While others had to be cautious when taking pills, he didn’t have to worry at all because of the mysterious Dan Furnace that refined the pills without any side effects.

Suppressing his excitement, Su Twelve refocused on the Gathering Qi Pill in his hand.

For now, his top priority was improving his cultivation.

After a moment of hesitation, he decisively swallowed the pill.

The pill instantly turned into a huge surge of spiritual energy that flooded his body. In the next moment, Su Twelve turned red, his veins bulging, and an excruciating pain spread throughout his body.

Though he had been prepared for this, he didn’t realize how painful it would truly be.

The spiritual energy in the pill, though not as wild as Qi, was massive, far more than a Qi Refining Practitioner at the Sixth Stage could endure.

At this moment, he couldn’t continue his cultivation; the overwhelming spiritual energy was almost going to burst his meridians.

In the haze of unconsciousness, thinking of the hatred he carried, Su Twelve clenched his teeth, gathering his strength to activate the Breathing Technique and reluctantly began to refine the spiritual energy despite the pain.
