Going through hell

When a dimensional rift opens undetected, that would be because it was forcefully opened on one side. Intentionally opened rifts often come with hostile netizens from other side intending on conquering the empire.

But a rift that could be detected meant it was from a dimension that already forced a rift open in the past, and the residual energy of that time caused a dimensional rift to unintentionally open. That energy could easily be detected even before the rift opens, giving ample time to prepare.

In this case, a rift opened and sucked in Lucas. Leading to his current situation of being face-to-face with a woman with pink skin.

The pink-skinned woman licked her lips as he approached Lucas, swaying her hips provocatively along the way.

“If I’m not mistaken. You're a human male,” she stated.

“You do realize how unlikely that is,” Lucas replied as he stepped back. “What makes you think we’re not the same race?” Lucas countered.

The woman smirked. “What race are we then?”

Lucas gulped. Taking a guess from her horns, wings, and tail, Lucas answered. “Demons?” he answered as he backed into a wall.

The woman giggled and kept approaching him. “What kind of demon?” she was already standing a few inches away from him.

Before Lucas could answer, her hand lashed out, grabbing him by the face and covering his mouth. Lucas tried to remove her hand, but he failed even with both hands pulling her arm back.

She giggled as she grabbed one of Lucas’s arms and pinned it between her thighs, and then she grabbed his other hand and placed it on her left boob.

She leaned down to his ear. “I’ll give you a hint. I’m the kind that likes sucking the life out of men,” she whispered into his ears.

  “Cassidy!”

A loud shout came from the entrance of the alley, and the woman quickly reacted by turning around and hiding Lucas behind her. Bat wings completely covered his upper body, leaving only his legs slightly visible from the other side.

“What do you want prick?” Cassidy replied.

Lucas couldn’t see anything from behind her, but he figured the other person already entered the back alley.

“I told you to lay off those bastards,” the other demon stated.

“They screwed me over!” Cassidy yelled. “They’re lucky I didn’t skin them alive!”

“They’re my best customers,” the other demon replied. “Who the fuck is that?” they suddenly asked.

“My stress relief,” Cassidy replied while pushing her hips back and wiggling her ass on Lucas.

“Whatever bitch. Keep your claws to yourself. Otherwise, forget about doing shows here ever again,” the other demon said before Lucas heard the sound of them walking away.

Cassidy turned back to Lucas. “Alright. Here's the deal buddy,” Lucas was surprised by the sudden seriousness in her tone. “I want out of this hell hole,” she stated. “You get me out of here and I won’t kill you.”

Lucas raised his hands in surrender. “Look. I don’t even know how I’m going to leave this place. I’m not a mage.”

Cassidy looked him over. “I can feel energy from you.”

  “It’s aura.”

“Haven’t heard that one before,” Cassidy replied. “Anyways. There's a way to get out of here.”

  “How?”

“We need to get to a ritual altar,” Cassidy said. “Normally, the ritual needs to happen on the other end of the summoning. But since you’re here, it’ll open where you got sucked in.”

“Hold on. Where even am I?” Lucas asked.

“We’re in Tartaros. But you humans call it Hell.”

Macey grew concerned. Not because of the mountain of bodies scattered outside of the walls, but the ferocity shown by Lucas’s golem. The bodies were shredded to pieces to the point that piecing them back together was no longer possible.

Everything a golem does is programmed by the creator, meaning this was no different than Lucas doing this himself. Macey knew that Lucas was an odd one. He didn’t like socializing, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t speak when needed. He just liked keeping to himself.

But what Macey was looking at wasn’t normal. Macey didn’t know how many groups this were, but there was certainly more than one judging by the different sets of gear seen on the corpses. Lucas had made a golem capable of such slaughter, making Macey wonder what else he would be capable of as an enemy.

The golem in question approached Macey, dragging the upper body of a dead man.

“Another group has attempted to invade madam.”

Macey didn’t know what to say as the golem dropped the body on the ground without care.

“I shall return to my post.”

The golem began marching away, leaving the corpse behind.

“What have I gotten myself into.”

“Is this necessary?” Lucas asked as he wore a mask and a headband with horns.

If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

“Yes. Unless you want to be attacked by every demon that sees you,” Cassidy replied as they drove to the location of the ritual altars in her car.

“From what I know, this dimension tried invading the empire over 20 years ago,” Lucas mentioned. “After that, demons regularly showed up through demonic rituals.”

“It’s not our fault humans are greedy for power,” Cassidy replied. “Besides, demonic rituals only give us a temporary time in your dimension.”

“What makes this any different?” Lucas asked.

Cassidy just smirked. “You’ll find out soon.”

Lucas knew that he likely shouldn’t trust someone that he just met in a back-alley parking lot. The fact that she was a demon was the least of his concern. Lucas wasn’t about to judge an entire race from the actions of the few that he just hears about.

Lucas glanced out the window, admiring the unusual sights before him. Ignoring the fact that everything was a shade of red, hell actually looked homey. He didn’t know if that was because of the similarity of architectures between his home dimension, or it was a sign that he was going to hell.

But at least he could say that he’s been to hell.

“We’re here,” Cassidy said as the car stopped.

Lucas turned to the front to see a giant building. “What now?”

“Come on,” Cassidy got out of the car and headed into the building.

Lucas got out and followed Cassidy into the building, wary of attracting too much attention. They walked past other demons as they went inside the building. They were minding their own business, talking with each other, going through their phones, and more. They acted no different to humans.

“Where are we going?” Lucas whispered as they got into an elevator.

“I know someone that can get us an altar,” Cassidy replied as she pressed the 13th floor.

They waited in silence as the elevator ascended. Once it opened Lucas followed Cassidy out as she walked through the halls as if already knowing where to go.

After a bit of walking, they stopped in front of a door. Cassidy knocked a few times, then some shuffling and a few crashes were heard on the other side of the door.

When the door finally opened, it revealed a demon with white skin and long black hair. She wore a black suit with a red vest. In terms of appearance, she looked like a goth businesswoman with a cheerful vibe and professional vibe.

Which was a weird sentence to think about.

“Cassidy!” she exclaimed. “What brings you here?”

“Hi Ruth. I just wanted to ask a favor,” Cassidy replied. “I need access to a ritual altar.”

“Sure. I can do that,” Ruth gestured for them to come in as she rushed to her desk. “It’ll probably take a while, but I can get you a private altar. What do you need it for?” Ruth asked as she went through her computer.

As Cassidy began explaining things to her, Lucas looked around the office. There were stacks of paperwork everywhere and even the drawers were overflowing with papers. It was clear that Ruth was a very busy demon.

“By the way. Who’s that?” Ruth pointed to Lucas.

  “My... stress relief?” Cassidy answered.

Ruth hummed. “Well, you got a private altar in three hours.”

“Thanks Ruth,” Cassidy sat down on one of the stacks of paperwork on the floor. “Do you mind if we wait here?”

“Go ahead,” Ruth nodded, while subtlety glancing at Lucas.

“How are you and Marge?” Cassidy asked.

  Ruth shrugged. “We’re good.”

As Cassidy and Ruth began making small talk, Lucas couldn’t help but overhear a few details. Hearing their conversation, Lucas quickly figured out that Ruth was a lesbian and had a girlfriend named Marge.

If Lucas had to guess, she was the red-skinned demon with short black hair with Ruth in one of the pictures in the office.

After about an hour of waiting, Cassidy and Ruth seemed to have run out of things to talk about and an awkward silence washed over them.

That didn’t last long though as the door to her office slammed open. “Spread those legs cause mama’s hungry!” the red-skinned demon in the photo shouted.

Ruth stared at her in shock and embarrassment. “Marge!”

Marge looked around the office, noticing Cassidy and Lucas. “Oh~ so it's that kind of night,” she licked her lips.

Lucas raised an eyebrow despite his mask not showing it. “Is licking lips some sort of greeting here?”

Marge strutted towards him and spun around to lean against his body. “I can lick more than just lips big boy,” Marge said as she looked up at him, putting her head on his neck.

“Aren’t you two dating?” Lucas glanced at Ruth.

Marge giggled. “Don’t worry big boy. She's more eager for you than I am.”

Lucas was about to ask something when he was suddenly face-to-face with Ruth. “I’m sorry,” that was the only thing Ruth said before grabbing Lucas’s mask off and locking her lips with his.

“Oh shit!” Cassidy stood up in a panic.

“Oh shit in-deed!” Marge exclaimed from where she was sandwiched between Ruth and Lucas. “This thing is phenomenal!” Marge exclaimed while groping Lucas’s crotch. “You’ve been keeping this guy to yourself?” Marge glared at Cassidy.

Cassidy could only watch in panic as the horn headband fell off Lucas’s head as Ruth pulled him in closer.

The headband fell on Marge’s feet. “Huh?” Marge picked up the headband in confusion.

  Ruth separated from Lucas.

Both of them got a good luck at him. There was still a trail of saliva between Lucas’s and Ruth’s lips, while her eyes were widening in surprise.

“You’re a fucking human?!” Marge yelled as she was unbuckling Lucas’s belt.

Lucas quickly got his act together and moved away to stand beside Cassidy in a burst of speed that blew the papers around the room.

“How did you get a human here Cassidy?” Ruth asked as she wiped her mouth. “Rituals only work one way.”

After a bit of explaining, Ruth and Marge were finally up to speed with his current situation.

“God damn... I want out of here too,” Marge finally spoke.

Lucas turned to Cassidy. “I thought they’d attack me.”

“Well, most would attack you since demons and humans aren’t exactly on peaceful terms, but we’re not at war. We even occasionally do trades and deals when a dimensional rift connects our worlds,” Ruth responded. “We won’t blindly attack other races.”

Lucas sighed in relief. “What about the way for me to get back home?”

“We’d need to force a dimensional rift to open, but the only way to do that is...” Ruth trailed off, making Lucas concerned. “We need a powerful influx of demonic energy.”

Lucas turned back to Cassidy. “What was your plan?”

She shrugged. “Get on the altar, pull the fire alarm. Improvise?”

Lucas turned to Ruth, who just shook her head with a cringe. Lucas sighed. “I got an idea.”

“Why the fuck do you have a divine energy battery?!”

Cassidy yelled as they entered the private ritual altar room where Ruth and Marge were waiting in.

“Long story,” Lucas held the divine energy battery he created and ran around the company building, getting the attention of every demon in the building.

The demons began attacking him, but with the help of his golems, they managed to hold them back until they arrived at the altar room.

“It’s ready!” Ruth announced as a surge of demonic energy was coming from outside the room, coming from the attacks the demons were using to break in.

“Come on!” Marge yelled as the altar began to glow.

Marge grabbed Lucas’s hand and slashed with a dagger, drawing some blood and activating the altar. Space began to ripple as a rift was forcibly opened at the same time the door to the altar room exploded.

  “Kill them!” A demon yelled.

“Get in!” Cassidy pushed them all through the rift.

Lucas threw a sphere just as they passed through.

One of the demon’s caught the sphere, then it snapped open.

  It exploded.
