Day 15 Month Fire

  I am ashamed of myself as I almost turned into a full fledged NEET under mama Illness’ embrace again, luckily Shia found me first before I turned into an useless organism under mama Illness’ holy mother embrace for good and called Hajime to wake me up by electrocuting me.

  …I am grateful for Hajime to snap out of me but can you do it the other way, y’know? Like maybe using Soul Magic or—

  Ah, you already tried that but it didn't work huh…

  But never mind that, me and Hajime decided to visit Kaito-san in order to ask him what activity we can do here since it’s getting pretty boring around Lilia-san’s mansion.

  As we arrived at his mansion, we tried to look at the backyard and his living room but to no avail, so we decided to look around his mansion to find him.

  …And at that moment, that “thing” appeared.

  The thing that appeared in front of us was a 140ish cm tall humanoid female with long beautiful snow white colored hair, pale skin, a beautiful face on par with mine, pair of ruby colored Irises, and an elegant turquoise colored gothic dress. She looks like a cute and beautiful snow fairy queen at gnce.

  But that’s not important right now.

  I don’t know when or how it appears, or even the reason why it appears in front of us. But for some reason, me and Hajime just know one thing for sure.

  We need to run, like right now.

  Our instinct tells us to run, to never look back at her, to not fight back for she is our demise taken form.

  She is supposed to be a beautiful yet fragile existence but me and Hajime know…

  …That she is the concept of death personified, even more than the one we fought before.

  This is bad, this is really really bad, it felt worse than that time we met with Shallow Vernal-sama. Who knows there’s someone so powerful exists here.

  When we’re still paralyzed by her presence, all of the sudden it moves closer to us, and our instinct screams even louder at us to run immediately.

  “Stay back you monster! Yue go! Tell the others quickly!!!” (Hajime)

  “...”

  All of the sudden, Hajime pulls out his guns and weapons from his treasure warehouse and aims it at that thing while telling me to run and warn the others about the existence of this horrifying being. He must’ve prepared himself to stall it here.

  But of course, my answer will be…

  “...No, I will be here to fight it with you too.” (Yue)

  “What the hell are you saying! Just go Yue!” (Hajime)

  “No! We promised to always be together until the end, I’m prepared to die with you!” (Yue)

  “Yue…” (Hajime)

  Nn, I know this sounds selfish and stupid considering this being could just go and annihite everyone after it has done its business with us, but I want to be with my Hajime till the very end of our life. As I said those words while looking Hajime right into his eyes, he smiled wryly.

  “Yeah, let's be together till the end.” (Hajime)

  “...Nn.” (Yue)

  As we look at that thing, we prepared ourselves to fight back for our lives harder than the st time with Ehit. Oh you foul being, come at us! You may be out of our reach in terms of power but we will fight to our very demise! Our bond wasn’t that weak to be severed by the likes of yo—

  “Areh? Hajime, Yue-san? What’s going on here?” (Kaito)

  All of the sudden we heard a familiar voice. It was Kaito-san! I forgot we’re still inside his mansion now! This is bad! He’s in danger!

  “Oi Kaito go away! You didn’t stand a chance against it!” (Hajime)

  “Areh? Ah, just wait a second okay?” (Kaito)

  “Oi oi!? What the hell you’re do…ing?” (Hajime)

  “Ah… Kaito… sorry… I did it… again…” (Isis)

  “It’s okay Isis-san, in fact, I should be the one who says sorry for not meeting with you first.” (Kaito)

  As Kaito-san said that, he then go near to this dy and touch her, we were about to scream at him to not go near her but as Kaito-san hold her hand, all of the sudden we didn’t feel the dread that we felt before any longer, and the dy in front of us didn’t feel all that scary anymore, as if her previous demeanor is all a lie.

  “Before we expin it to both of you, how about we move to a more suitable pce to talk?” (Kaito)

  “Unn…” (Isis)

  “Sounds fine to me.” (Hajime)

  Nn, looks like there’s an expnation for this bizarre situation so me and Hajime decided to follow Kaito-san despite our confusion before.

  As we followed Kaito-san, we then arrived at a room that looks like a receptionist room. When we went inside of it, Kaito-san then faced us with an apologetic face as he bows in front of us while holding hand with the dy still.

  “Sorry! I should’ve told you all that Isis-san is visiting!” (Kaito)

  “O-ou, but I’m more confused about who this girl is?” (Hajime)

  “Umm…” (Kaito)

  “...it’s… okay Kaito…” (Isis)

  “Unn, everyone, this is Isis-san, my precious lover, and also the “Death king” of the Six Kings.” (Kaito)

  “Huhh? She’s the Death king “Thanatos”!? Her image is totally different from what I imagine!” (Hajime)

  Nn, to think that this beautiful dy that looks frail and a bit sickly is one of the strongest beings in this world, when you heard a being with the nickname “Death King”, you would think that it has an appearance of a grim reaper or some sort like that.

  But her demeanor before… that moment before truly made me feel like I am in the face of death itself so there isn’t any mistake that she is the bonafide Death King.

  “Isis-san has a unique magic power called “Magic Power of Death” leaking out of her whole body, because of that, any being without sufficient magic power will succumb under her aura.” (Kaito)

  “Unn… I have… a unique constitution… where my magic power… is leaking throughout… my whole body, cause most beings feel fear… just by being near me…” (Isis)

  I see, so that’s the reason why me and Hajime felt so much dread before, it must be because we’re in her Magic Power of Death’s vicinity.

  “I see, but how can you make that Magic Power of Death thingy disappear then Kaito?” (Hajime)

  “I didn’t, I just suppressed it by enveloping Isis-san with my own mana. As long as I’m holding her hand, Isis-san’s Magic Power of Death shouldn’t leak. This room also has a property that allows Isis-san to fully control her immeasurably high amount of mana so we can properly talk to each other here.” (Kaito)

  Nn, looks like Kaito-san is capable of suppressing Isis-san’s magic aura before by touching her, and as Kaito-san let go of Isis-san’s hand to demonstrate this room’s property, we didn’t feel any dread that we felt before.

  “I’m sorry… for scaring… both of you earlier…” (Isis)

  “Ahh, it’s okay Death King-sama.” (Hajime)

  “Just call me… Isis… You all are… Kaito’s friend… right?” (Isis)

  “Well, I guess you can say it that way? My name is Hajime, Nagumo Hajime, and this is Yue, my wife.” (Hajime)

  “Unn… It’s nice to meet… both of you too…” (Isis)

  Nn, to think that this beautiful polite dy here is one of the strongest beings in Trinia, and the one with an ominous title like Death King to boot, the image of her is totally different, same with Kuro-san when we first met her.

  Nn, I feel like we’re about to hit it off pretty well with her.

  Hajime gently held my hand as he smiled gently at me after he talked about our adventure at Tortus, Jeez Hajime you made me blush~.

  “I’m now kinda curious how you met with your lovers, Kaito.” (Hajime)

  “Unn? How I met with my lovers huh?” (Kaito)

  “Unn? How I met… Kaito… is it?” (Isis)

  I'm also curious about how Kaito-san met with his lovers, especially Isis-san since her Magic Power of Death affected us except Kaito-san before. As Isis-san looks at the ground nostalgically, she then tells us about her first encounter with Kaito-san.

  “I met with Kaito… for the first time… in this town… when I decided… to buy books…” (Isis)

  “...Heeee, so you like to read Isis-san?” (Yue)

  “Unn… at that time though… Kaito was… scared of me… when we… first met.” (Isis)

  Nn, this is pretty confusing since Kaito-san was pretty much unfazed under Isis-san’s Magic Power of Death judging from the situation before, but it seems like Kaito-san too is scared of her magic aura the first time they met.

  “Unn… at that time… Kaito was afraid… but he didn’t run… like others… and even answered… my question… when I asked… who he was.” (Isis)

  “Unn… And when… I brought my hand closer… to greet him… he was… terrified by it… I thought Kaito… reached his limit… by then…” (Isis)

  Nn, who could’ve thought that Kaito-san was also so terrified by Isis-san before, makes me wonder how the hell he can even greet her when we were scared out of our minds when we first met her.

  Nn, like Hajime said, who could’ve thought that Kaito-san managed to weathered through her magic aura by pure guts just to greet her.

  “Unn… I was happy… so happy… that Kaito… grabbed my hand… At that time… I realized… I finally found him… my prince.” (Isis)

  “heeee, looks like we have a prince in shining armor here.” (Hajime)

  “Don’t tease me, I just did what I wanted to do. She looks too lonely so I had to do something.” (Kaito)

  As Isis-san and Kaito-san look at each other lovingly, there is a sweet atmosphere around both of them indicating that both of them really fall in love with each other.

  Hmm, I kinda wonder if this is what everybody feels when me and Hajime flirt with each other? But nevermind that.

  “Unn… I was lonely… back then… so I was very happy… when Kaito… became my friend… at that time.” (Isis)

  “...Nn? You were lonely before Isis-san?” (Yue)

  “Unn… back then… I can’t control… my Magic Power of Death… so any being that I approach… will die as I touch them…” (Isis)

  Nn, so Isis-san’s magic aura before is already in the suppressed state? Seems like her magic aura is much stronger than I initially thought.

  “I hate loneliness… so I keep moving… to find those… who can survive… being near me… and I found them… those who are… equal to me…” (Isis)

  “...and they are the Six Kings?” (Yue)

  “Unn… they’re capable… of resisting… my Magic Power of Death… so for the first time… I was happy… I thought… I’m not alone anymore…” (Isis)

  Nn, How should I say this? I thought Isis-san finding someone she could be with should be a good thing for her, but for some reason, she said it as if that’s not the case.

  “But then… I thought of something…” (Isis)

  “You realized something?” (Hajime)

  “Unn, I thought that… the reason why… they can accept me… is because of their power… that if they didn’t have it… then they will… never accept me…” (Isis)

  Nn, apparently Isis-san thought that if the Six Kings didn’t have power comparable with her, then they would never accept her due to her magic aura.

  I, myself, can rete this a little since before I found out the truth about my imprisonment, I thought that my uncle and others feared my power and immortality so they tried to seal me in the Orcus Labyrinth. Shia also feels that way when she realizes that she is different compared to other beastmen.

  Power begets either admiration, awe or fear. That’s why those who are strong are always alone for this reason, because they’re too different and powerful to be accepted in front of any normal being. Shia is also somewhat like this before, though her family still accepts her.

  Isis-san then continued her story before she met with Kaito-san.

  “Days passed… then months… years… decades… then thousands of years passed… but I still couldn’t find them… even though I trained… to suppress my magic power… it still leaked… and caused fear… to those around me…” (Isis)

  “...” (everyone)

  “And when… the others find their subordinates… from all three realms… I'm the only one… who’s still… alone… and I was desperate… and almost… out of hope…” (Isis)

  “...But you didn’t give up, didn’t you?” (Yue)

  “Unn, I still believed… that there will be… the one who… will always accept me… and I’m gd… I didn’t give up.” (Isis)

  Nn, As Isis-san finished spuns her words, she then grasped kaito-san’s hand as if it was her most precious treasure while smiling lovingly at him again while Kaito-san did the same to her. Even though she was cornered to the brinks of giving up, she still believed that there’s a being out there who will accept her for who she was as she grasps her small wish, and that being is Kaito-san.

  Seriously Kaito-san, your dispy of guts when you met with Isis-san can even surprise Shia the buggy rabbit who uses guts to get stronger you know?

  A girl who was shunned by every being due to her dangerous aura and a boy who went against his instinct and faced its fear just to be with the girl.

  Nn, they truly were meant to meet with each other, almost like…

  “...Almost like me.” (Yue)

  “Unn? What is it… Yue? (Isis)

  “...No, I just thought you are somewhat the same as me.” (Yue)

  “Somewhat… the same?” (Isis)

  “...Nn, when I was imprisoned by my family, ah don’t worry, they did this for my own good. Anyway, when I was sealed in the great byrinth, I was on the brink of despair. I thought about giving up multiple times but I still grasp that small hope that one day someone will open the door and save me.” (Yue)

  As Isis-san said this, she wears a lovely smile, but for some reason a chill comes down through my spine as she says those words. Is it just my imagination?

  Also, for some reason this room is shaking? As if it tried to hold down something?

  Yep, it must’ve been my imagination. It’s not like Isis-san was covered with light blue mixed with bck colored magic aura, causing her surroundings to go so cold, water particles freezing midair. It must’ve been my imagination, no it’s definitely my imagination.

  “Hey Kaito, I know I said this before but we are absolutely fine with giving them to you, you know? It’ll be better for both of us, mainly for us really so you don’t need to worry about a thing, I can brainwash their family as if they never remember them so it’ll be perfect don’t you think?” (Hajime)

  “Oi! I won't let that happen! Also Isis-san, I know you are angry for me and I’m happy for it but let them go please? Alice already reprimanded them so it should be fine right?” (Kaito)

  “Unn… If Kaito… said so…” (Isis)

  As Kaito-san tells Isis-san to calm down, the magic aura dissipates and her surroundings’ temperature immediately go back to normal.

  Nn, I forgot about this but Isis-san is supposed to be the “Death King”, one of the Six Kings and also Kaito-san’s lover so that adds another reason why we shouldn’t mess around with Kaito-san too much.

  Day 16 month Fire

  Yesterday, we had a pretty lively conversation with Isis-san and Kaito-san, so much so that we actually forgot that we haven't asked Kaito-san about what activities we could do while we’re waiting for the summoning circle to recharge.

  Well it couldn’t be helped I guess since we’re hitting pretty off with Isis-san, especially with me since she’s also a magic genius like I am, so we’re having a pretty lively conversations regarding some magic techniques that I want to learn, especially those information concealment magic and that magic Luna-san did to restore the corridor Lillia-san destroy before.

  Apparently, the magic Luna-san did was called “Causality Intervention Magic”. It sounds very overpowered and rightfully so since according to Isis-san’s expnations it was magic that’s used to intervene the w of cause and effect to manipute an event to go along the user’s wish or to restructure an event by maniputing the cause or the effect via this magic. It can even rewind an event back to its usual state giving the user capability to come back from utter physical destruction if the user was strong enough to do so.

  Seriously, this magic is too overpowered, it makes even restoration magic look like child’s py compared to this magic…

  Incidentally, I asked Isis-san to teach me those two magic before. I got the grasp of information concealment magic since I already used simir magic beforehand, but I still can’t grasp the concept regarding this causality intervention magic. This was the first time I’m stuck regarding this so I'm pretty irritated.

  No but seriously, it was good that Isis-san said that since time and “Causality” intervened with each other, I should be able to manipute the w of cause and effect by using restoration magic. But to no avail, I failed in learning causality intervention magic.

  Well I guess that’s unavoidable, I didn’t even know what the hell causality is until Isis-san told me about it yesterday.

  But even though I’m in a slump in learning new magic, Isis-san was very kind to me, she guided me through my practice on magics, gave me tips and showcased how these magic works and even gave me guides to learn some high level magics here. Hell, she even gave me permission to come to her residence as a learning pce.

  Seriously, Isis-san is less of a “Death King” and more like “Angel of Kindness”, if only her Magic Power of Death isn’t leaking, she could potentially befriended many people.

  Nn, that makes Kaito-san even more amazing as he’s capable of showcasing Isis-san’s personality to many people she meets. As expected of someone who makes the God of this world his lover.

  Speaking of amazing, I was baffled yesterday, not because of Isis-san’s Magic Power of Death that is capable of piercing the soul shell’s protection and Kaito-san’s blessing nor the fact that Kaito-san adapted in order to resist the Magic Power of Death by guts Shia style nor the fact that Isis-san is thousands of years old nor the fact that Isis-san capable of understanding my poor expnation (Hajime’s word not mine) of magic in Tortus so fluently.

  No, I was baffled by the fact that Isis-san… capable of learning Ancient Magic… just by seeing it…

  No for real, after I was done with my training in learning Causality Intervention Magic, I decided to expin Ancient Magic to Isis-san a bit by casting a small “Bck Vortex” on my hand.

  But after examining and pondering about it, Isis-san then opened up her palm while saying “Like… this?” as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

  And there it is… “Bck Vortex” on the palm of her hand… It was small and it disappeared after a few seconds but Isis-san definitely casted Ancient Magic, by herself, after she just saw it for the first time…

  Eh? Was Ancient Magic that easy to cast? No, when I first got it, Miledi said that I have the highest affinity for it but I couldn’t really cast some simple spell from gravity magic on the get go so I have to learn it myself. But Isis-san immediately cast “Bck Vortex” just from see me cast it.

  Could it be… she’s even more of a genius than I am!?

  Now that I thought about it, Causality Intervention Magic is one of the magic that is mainly used by those with enough power and knowledge who are capable of wielding it. The fact that Isis-san, capable of casting Causality Intervention Magic so fluently judging from her showcasing of said magic by spilling a cup of water to the ground, make the carpet wet, only for said carpet to return to its original state while the cup of water came back to Isis-san’s hand as if the water never spilled.

  I seriously thought she used other means to do such a thing, but no, what I felt when that event occurred is the same feeling when Luna-san fixed the corridor, so that is Causality Intervention Magic huh…

  Yep, that’s powerful alright, and Isis-san even said that there’s others who are even better at that magic than her, I mean at that point, they’re pretty much a God stronger than Ehit already…

  Anyway, we decided to visit Kaito-san again for today and this time he told us that Isis-san isn’t visiting today so he let us go on our own this time.

  As we walked into the living room, we saw another person that we didn’t know inside this room with Kaito-san.

  The person in question is a beautiful woman with pinkish purple long hair that’s tied in a twintail. She has a rather rge breast on the contrary to her petite stature and wore a garment that emphasized her figure greatly. The weird thing is this woman is in a prone position on top of Kaito-san’s leg under her belly, as if she’s a cat zing on his ps comfortably.

  “Oya? Yue-san, Hajime, welcome, err…” (Kaito)

  “So… she’s also one of your lovers I reckon?” (Hajime)

  “...yes, hold on, let me wake her up first.” (Kaito)

  “Nmyuuuu…” (Fate)

  “Fate-san, wake up, it’s morning.” (Kaito)

  “Fuuuunyaaaaaaa, five more years pleaseeee~~” (Fate)

  “...It’s too long Fate-san, can you get up please? We can continue rexing ter.” (Kaito)

  As this woman woke up from Kaito-san’s p, she then opened her reddish purple eyes and saw us.

  “Oya~? Are you Yue and Hajime?” (Fate)

  “Hmm? Do you know about us?” (Hajime)

  “Of course~, you all are the first otherworlder who broke Shallow Vernal-sama’s rule you know~.” (Fate)

  “O-o-ou, is she also a God too Kaito?” (Hajime)

  “Ah It’s okay to tell them Kai-chan~” (Fate)

  “Unn, everyone, this is Fate-san, she’s also my lover and she’s the Supreme God of Fate.” (Kaito)

  Heeee, so she’s the Supreme God of Fate huh, well considering her name is Fate, I guess it isn’t that hard to connect the dots, but…

  “...Is she really a God? Compared to Chronois-san and Shallow Vernal-sama, she’s a little bit unassuming.” (Yue)

  “Unfortunately, she is.” (Kaito)

  “Ah~, that’s because I hate to work~, I like to ze around with Kai-chan~.” (Fate)

  “I can’t believe that I would find a NEET God trope here too…” (Hajime)

  “W-w-well Fate-san did her jobs once a while so she can ze around with me so she’s not exactly a NEET I guess?” (Kaito)

  “Yeaaaah, because if I don't do it, the God of Time and Space will come and drag me and do this hellish thing called work~. So I did my job properly “once a month” so The God of Time and Space wouldn’t interrupt me~.” (Fate)

  Nn, The Supreme God of Fate, Fate-san really don’t like work huh? It’s just the fact that she doesn't want her time to ze around with Kaito-san to diminish that she did her work.

  Nn, I need to be careful to not become like her.

  …For some reason, Fate-san looked at me with a pondering gaze, she even spelled the word for some reason.

  “...Umm, what is it, Fate-san?” (Yue)

  “Hmmm~ hey Yue-rin~, how do you mostly pass the time when it's the holiday season?” (Fate)

  “...Nn? I usually loiter around the neighborhood, help clean the house with my magic, but mostly I’m in my room reading manga and watching anime. Why are you asking, Fate-san?” (Yue)

  “Heeeeee~, so you did that huh~~, I see I see~~.” (Fate)

  Nn? For some reason Fate-san smiled at my low holiday activity. As I’m still wondering the reason why she does so, she then decres something outrageous.

  “Unn, Kai-chan, I found it again.” (Fate)

  “Oya? What is it, Fate-san? Wait, don’t tell me…” (Kaito)

  “Unn unn! You know what I mean, Kai-chan! I found my brethren! My comrade in arms! My fellow NEET!!!” (Fate)

  “NNNNNNNN!!?? What do you mean by that Fate-san!!??” (Yue)

  “I mean what I said Yue-rin~, you ze around at your home most of the time right~.” (Fate)

  “...T-t-that’s true, but I help clean the house and sometimes help Otou-sama and Okaa-sama work!” (Yue)

  “Then~~ how fast you did that Yue-rin~.” (Fate)

  “............about 10 seconds or so…” (Yue)

  “And what did you do after that?” (Fate)

  “......go back to my room and read manga and novels…” (Yue)

  “See~~, you’re not so different than me after all~, we’re comrades? comrades?” (Fate)

  “......Muuuuuu, Hajime! Help me!” (Yue)

  “Well… I can’t really help you there Yue, sorry.” (Hajime)

  “!!! Traitor! And Fate-san! I will never be like you! No, I shall never be like you! Mark this vampire princess’ words!” (Yue)

  “Oooooh! A royalty too huh~, you’re bound to be a NEET too you know~~, let it happen~~, it’s always pleasant to let Ha-chan spoil you like Kai-chan spoil me you know~~.” (Fate)

  “I! Shall! NEVER! BE! A NEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!” (Yue)

  As I decre that I shall never be a NEET with all my heart, my soul and my very being, Fate-san just smiles as if she’s having fun while she’s still persuade me to join this weird NEET alliance while Kaito-san and Hajime just look at us exasperatedly.

  Look, I know that I almost became a NEET twice due to Illness-san’s holy mother embrace but I persevere so there shouldn’t be any problems right? Right?

  For some reason I can foresee another ominous future the longer I stay here…
